I was in Hainan recently and since the reporting here is slow, I thought that every little bit helps even though this report is hardly a map to success.

I stayed in the new Sheraton property and it is highly recommended. I cannot comment on the cost as I was being hosted but a very pretty and comfortable place. Good cheeseburger in the coffee shop as well.

I have only two "un hosted" evenings to describe. My host seemed rather conservative and did not make offers of entertainment beyond dinners.

The first evening I solicited an in room massage for 900 RMB. I went down to the spa and saw a menu that said 600RMB, but the girl made it clear that it was 900. There was no choice to make. Just sat in my room and waited. What I got, 30 minutes later, was an enthusiastic FS from a 6 in appearance following a competent massage. I handed her 900 RMB. This in no way satisfied her and she wildly gestured for more. I was not in a great mood about what I considered the high price for China, so I picked up the phone to call reception to get her to leave. She took the phone, listened and left. A few minutes later I received a call from reception apologizing about the girl and that her actions were caused by a misunderstanding between her and the spa. I felt sorry and hoped that she at least got a cut from the spa.

The second un hosted evening I called a cab from the hotel and made the internationally recognized hand signal for what I was looking for. I used my translator machine, but the point had already been made. By the way, “barbershop” is where one goes to get a haircut when translated literally.

The driver took me to the downtown Haikou. On one central road, I spotted a BBS and motioned for the driver to stop. He motioned that he was taking me elsewhere. We did stop just a couple of blocks ahead and got out. We went into a KTV and took an elevator up to the third floor. Inside, at the front desk, a girl tried to escort me into a KTV room, but I indicated that I wanted to see girls first. I was not intending to stay at a KTV anyway. I wanted take a way. Two girls came out and I immediately judged them unacceptable. I turned to leave despite the pleading of the front desk girl and the cabbie. Back on the street I paid the cabbie and started walking back to the BBS that I had seen on the way. The cabbie was not big on letting me go, but I had put enough money in his hand that he was satisfied. I do not remember the amount of the meter from the Sheraton to downtown. This would be good information to report.

The BBS had about 10 girls but nothing worthwhile. I was happy just to be walking the streets. This is my favorite type of exploring. At one street corner which was particularly full of people buying, selling, eating, and hanging out, I took a turn into an alley from the main street. I walked around for about an hour spotting and checking out no less than 12 BBS storefronts.

About 6 of the 12 had one gem in the group of 5-8 girls. One that I found early on had 2 stunners and 2 8+ and perhaps 3 not acceptable. I stopped here and with the help of my translator machine and a very drunk young guy who was just getting back with a girl and wanted to be my new best buddy, I tried to make a deal. The quote I got for going to the Sheraton was 600 RMB and one of the stunners and one of the 8s were seemingly very excited to go with me. But negotiations broke down between me and mama. She would not budge one RMB, which after negotiating in China for quite a while, really made me feel weak. If she had gone 50RMB lower, it all would have worked; but instead, I felt I had no choice but to leave.

Like I said this was early on and I though that would have no problem getting what I wanted. What I found though in continuing on through the alley ways, was many shops where the mama and the girls were not the least bit interested in talking to me. One mama screamed at me from her chair until I backed out of the shop. Most shops had one gem mixed with many un passable. Although, looking back, due to the circumstances I was in, perhaps my standards were slipping. I was on my way back towards the “good BBS” that I had failed to make a deal in before, but I was not sure that I was on the right track.

And then, I noticed that with every step that I took, there were fewer and fewer people on the streets. I saw that it was 10:00 and within 15 minutes, I had gone from walking with a crowd to seeing one person per block. This made me nervous enough that I decide to walk in one direct to find a major street. I did a few minutes later and a taxi pulled up shortly. And back to the Sheraton, I went.

At the Sheraton spa, I was no long concerned about overpaying. I did ask to see the selection for an in room massage. A tall, thin attractive girl appeared and I immediately made by acceptance known. I went back to the room and had a few drinks and waited. I was extremely tired and the drinks put me to sleep. It was at least two hours later when the knock came at the door. The girl came in with her massage kit and made apologizing gestures about her tardiness. I accepted, undress and lay on the bed. It was a nice massage with HJ. No other advances towards her were remotely accepted and my hands were slapped more than a few times before my alcohol influenced mind got the message. She remained fully clothed and collected 900RMB.

Overall, the worst mongering experience in any location of China and I have been in at least 10 cities. I do not believe that I have made any other posting in China due to the fact that all of it has been reported by other members. I have traveled China but not had the fortune of spending much time in any one location. That is why I wish to take this time to thank all of the contributors on all of the China boards within the ISG. I appreciate, especially those that take the time to put together the “Newbie Guides” and the “Lists” reports. Those reports have made my life better during short visits to locations in China and elsewhere.

I think the deal in Hainan is that the authorities have let the word out that the BBS operators should stay away from the foreign visitors in order to promote the tourism agenda. I think that if one stayed there long enough, he would have a paradise to his own. The Hainanese women can be very attractive and sweet.

I am optimistic on Hainan though, I have some new business contacts there and we have already begun discussing entertainment options for my next visit.

Just to let you know that there is not much left in Haikou (in case that is where you are going). The days of pretty girls all over the place are gone. It is now a vacation heaven for the family iwth mothers and their kids running around. There are still some BBS open but the girls are nothing to rave about. The cost should be 150-200rmb to bring to your hotel room. Neven have done a girl inside the BBS. You can find a lot of SW outside of Haikou Hotel (all taxi driver knows where this is). However the quality if low, the girls are older (25 and up), not great looking but you might find a gem. Do not pay more than 200rmb. All in all Haikou is not worth going to in my opinion. In fact we cut our last trip from a week to 3 days because we could not find anything we liked.

Haiko is very tame by Dongguan standard. There are about 10 barbershops along Wuzishan Road, mostly young girls, for Y150 short time and Y300 O/N. Streetwalkers around the area goes for Y100 for ST. Quality of fucks are so-so. Boring. Maybe those who stay there longer may be able to find better quality MMs.

To followup on this post, I went to the barbershops along Wuzishan Lu the second time and picked up a rather cute 19 y-o Yunnan girl. Like the earlier Xin Jiang girl I picked the day before, this Yunnan girl insisted on bj with condom. I can't help but recommend Zhuhai for your mongering and entertainment
needs. Great food, great gals, and...great gals! Also surrounding hot springs
are an excellent place to bring a favorite new working girl/freebie.

And then you still have Macau!
Overrated saunas, great Macanese food, and gambling! Plus some great,
isolated beaches, and a magnificent PGA-level golf course. What else could

Your money will definately go farther in Zhuhai than Macau, but both places

I have a week off in August. I was thinking of going to Hainan. I live in Osaka. I would like to go wherever my money goes the farthest. I went to Viet Nam earlier this year, and that was a good time. I heard Cambodia is even less expensive, but the HIV rate in Cambodia is higher than the Sudan! Oy, I'll take a miss on that. Does anyone have any suggestions?
