Yes, The Banyan Tree is girl-friendly.
It is also a fucking excellent hotel, one of Bangkok's best, one of my favourites.
Enjoy.

Evergreen Laurel Hotel Bangkok Bangkok, Thailand
88 North Sathorn Road, (Soi Pipat) Bangrak, Bangkok
Are there a bunch of massage parlors right next door? I remember seeing a lot in that area but its been 3 years.
I plan on staying at the Banyan Tree or Sukhothai hotel and would like to know how long a cab ride is mid day? Am I looking at a nightmare ride?
Is the Banyan Tree girl friendly?
Thanks

Posts: 184What are the odds of a non pro in the Khao san Road if you don't speak Thai?
I did go there a few years back, and found it fairly quite. It was mid-week though.
Where would you say is the best bet for non-pro's if you don't speak Thai?
My first trip I picked up a nice one in Spasso's, just before closing time.
I assumed she was a pro, but had her own car and her own business.
I still have her number. Maybe I should call?

TT,
Your advice was spot on. I added my two baht in case John had time for a miss. But yeah, if you are in Bangkok for one or two weeks and you simply have to get laid every night then skipping Khoasan Rd. is not a bad idea.
Migrant,
Ya only got five on me and it sounds like you can have fun without problem. Good for you! I'd be happy hanging anywhere with three lovlies.
Coma,
Come on man. It doesn't really suck that bad does it? lol
BTW, are you still lurking in CM? I am thinking about heading that way in a day or two.

Posterlion,
I know that you can score at Khao San Rd., have done it myself and was quite satisfied with it. But the selection is smaller than at the usual places and I don't know about John, if he can speak Thai, about his taste and so on.
That's why I told him to give it a try, but only if he got enough time so a "miss" won't ruin his trip. If he is short on time a "secure" trade might be the better choice.
Take care

I know lots of Thais who hang out there, and have only been out there myself twice. It was easy enough to pick up a girl, especially as I was the only Farang who could speak Thai, plus am still "younger and groovier". It is easier to pick up a non-pro there than anywhere else in BKK.
Khao San still sucks though.

I got many nice glances, a few "hello's" and some nice touching. I had my plate full, but would not have had any problems finding someone. The crowd was a mix of pro's, after work, semi pro's perhaps, and many who I don't think were pro's.
Moral, whether it's Khoasan Rd, or other areas, if you act decently you will do fine. Also I enjoy getting out of the 'mainstream' although it may be hit or miss, it's interesting

“One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble”. You’ll hear the words from the 1980’s Murray Head song while they play it in some of the go-go clubs in Nana Plaza. Bangkok is a city that blows the mind. Returning from a Phuket vacation, I realized when it comes to mongering, the girls are so much better in Bangkok than Phuket. There is more selection, they are prettier, and the hotels are much better. Really screwed up by staying in Phuket one extra day in November. One night in Bangkok is not enough.
However, in light of what the disaster that struck Phuket this week, I can only be grateful I got to enjoy the island and the people.

John and TT,
I think Khoasan Rd. is not at all bad for mongering. I scored at the Gullivers Bar there on more than one occasion. It's a little different than the Gullivers on Soi 5 though.
The girls at Khoasan are openly (brazenly) rowdy. They get excited and start dancing all over the bar. I've seen this at Gulliver's on Soi 5 as well, but at Khoasan it's every night.
I sat in a stool type chair and pulled a girl onto my crotch for a lap dance to which she obligued very good-naturedly. I scooped her to my Casa for the night and the damage was 1,000 Baht plus taxi from Khoasan plus drinks, etc. It was a nice experience and I would recommend it to anyone.
One caveat. The guys at Khoason are generally younger and groovier than us old farts, but if you are still healthy and can fake a "Groove on" then you'll do fine at Khoasan and you'll be all the better for the change of pace.
cheers,
poster

It's nothing exciting, just a small street about 200-250m long, a few souvenir shops and a couple of restaurants, bars and discos. No Gogos and the like, not like Soi Cowboy or Patpong. Often a couple of cute girls around, but not necessarily P4P. There is a nice club with good music, named Lava as far as I remember. The whole street is a bit Hippie style, more a tourist thing than a good place for mongering. If you are short on time, hunt somewhere else, otherwise have a look and give it a try, may you are lucky.

Any info on Khao Sarn Road? I saw a photo from there and was not sure if it was a Patpong type of road. Is it in Bangkok, or another city in Thailand
Thanks
