I dropped by this place tonight, I have been there a few times but never stayed for sexo, mainly because I was on my way to meet other people at 4x4. This is half the cost of all the big termas and the quality on this particular night was better, can't guarantee it is always like this but for R10 entrance (which inlcudes 2 locals drinks) you can't go wrong. Doesn't get busy until 4pm+. Rooms are as nice as your usual terma and include showers which loumo and monte carlo don't. Total cost for me for 2x girls, drinks etc R230. You pay for the girls as you go and the drinks when you leave, you wear street clothes, no robes.

Terma 502, cnr Rio Branco & Rua Da Alfandega, Centro. 1 street over from Rua Buenos Aires which is what 4x4 is on.

Let me bring to everyones attention a most underrated therma that provides good, if not great, value for the money. On a recent Tuesday evening at eight o'clock more or less, there were a good 25 girls here with about 15 of them definitely doable. Here is there price structure: (including the girl and ROOM) 35 minutes---R$77 !! 45 minutes---R$97 !! 1 hour---R$107 !! This place is located 2 blocks from 4X4 so you can take the R$2 subway there (Uruguaiana? sp.) and back. Drinks are very reasonable, even for the girl--I had a peach juice, a Smirnoff Icee and a beer for the girl for a total of R$19 !! My total bill for the night was the R$19+R$77 (35 min. option) = R$96 !! (more or less $35US) . This has got to be one of the best values in Rio at a Therma. Even better than the R$140 at 4X4 if you get the girl before 5pm. Good quality girls with pole dancers in the bar . The room I had was smallish but it did have a shower. The sheets were clean, the towels were clean, everything was more or less average quality. I did not have a chance to check out the sauna or steam room. As I was leaving about 9:30 pm, a whole new crop of girls had arrived and the place was very active. Compare this to the now outrageous R$30 after midnight entrance to Help now (not including ANY drinks) and it is well worth exploring. Address: 502 R. do Alfandega near the corner of Av. Rio Branco. (Big main thoroughfare in Centro). The crowd seemed to be all locals. AND-- no robe required!! Look for the Blue neon above the door. About a 7 min walk to the metro. Walk east toward the docks. (Metro from Copacabana took about 12 minutes one way.) Opens 4 pm. Enjoy!

I was walking through central I got a flyer of As Gustosas. It was on ovidor and decided to go to the Apt 901 on the ninth floor. I thought the 10 reias was the entrance fee. Hell that got you 15 mins of head. 5 girls working and there was only one that was good looking. But for that price I told her I wanted 30 mins for 20 reias. I think Luxor Regente does not charge for visitors, if you have a double room.

Unfortunately, ALL hotels I know of allow only one visitor. It sucks. One more reason to settle for an apartment

I know exchange rates are posted on the internet but can anyone tell me what the exchange rate is when using the ATM machines?

Also, when I need to change cash $USD to $Reals, which "Cambio" place will give me the best rate?

This will help me decide how much cash to bring and how much to take out of the ATM.

I have come to know that what is printed in the news paper is not what the "Cambios" and the ATM machines give you usually.

I also know that HELP will exchange my cash $100 a night at an above average exchange rate, but only when they do not have cash flow problems. I have actually been turned down by the cashier at HELP because too many people changed their money that night.

There are several exchange rates. Offical commercial rate, used for ATM. Tourist and black market rates, used by cambios. Then there is the spread, between buying and selling price of dollars.

This weeks seems the cash rate is better. US$ 2.90 to sell dollar cash, 3.00 to buy dollars (not what you are interested in). Banks were more in the range of 2.74 or so. This is what I remember having read in the newspaper.

If you read only one exchange rate, it is the official rate.

The last few years, atm rate was a bit better then cash. It seems to revert now. But the difference is small, I think it still does not warrant carrying huge amounts of cash, endangering yourself and others due to robbery risk.

First, I think there should be a Termas thread. I can't start one, though. I finally took a girl in Solarium (after 3 dry runs) and have to say that when you go 40 minutes and don't cum then it's not that great. The reason for not picking anyone the other times ranged from bad selection to bad timing, as you need to know the peculiarities of their hours and can be surprised by early closing time.

L' uomu have a professional masseuse there and she is excellent. I think she charges about 50 reals for either a 30 or 40 min massage. There will sometimes be a queue for her though so if you can go off peak time, ie not long after opening, then do so.

I also had a massage from a masseuse at Solarium which is about 15 mins in a taxi from Copa, but is worth the journey.

Be careful if you re asking for a massage at 4x4 because I think its a bloke who does them there and I personally wouldnt be too confortable with that.
