Funny because most Mexicans I talk to ask why they have so many mass shootings in the USA We get bombarded with news about school, work, and church shootings. I would imagine most of the Mexico shootings are money and drug related. I don't think it is a disturbed coworker, classmate, or clergy member.

I think it is harder for people that live in other states to make a smart decision to visit Tijuana. & Mexico or not. The problem is that media tends to report the worst of what is happening south of the border. You either have to know people that visit Tijuana or check this site to see what the situation is like. But even the stories posted on this thread are a bit misleading. The best thing is try & get a idea if the crime in the Zona is rising or not. If it is then you have to use extra caution.

They have taco Tuesdays and Cinco de mayo in every usa town. Thats about the extent they want anything to do with anything Mexico. The thought to go into mexixo, would be like going into Baghdad during the Iraq War. You'd have to be an idiot to do it.

I've got Chubb platinum policy and not sure if they do fair market value or offer gap, but you can ask. All depends on how much coverage you want. " NEW! Mexican Insurance Store and CHUBB Group (Dual A+ Rated) offer the ONLY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE GUARANTEE in the Mexico Insurance Industry.

As well as Car Rental, Convenient Repair Options in the US, Mexico or Canada (NOT Just Mexico) and the ability to finalize any claim in the US saving you additional time, effort and money!

I'd suggest calling them and asking for what they offer.

Mexico is freedom to me. Strange, but if you live here, then you'd understand. A ticket for speeding or traffic violation in USA Is like $300-$400 and in Tijuana you can just hand them 1,000-2,00 peso and nothing on your record. The level of attentiveness and service at the average Mexican restaurant is equivalent to 5 star service in USA. Food has more flavors, mixed drinks are better, and travel around Mexico is cheap. Try traveling around USA When flights are $500-$1,000. You can get tickets for $200-$400 to go to vacation destinations and explore. The movies at Cinepolis are half of the cost of movies in USA 2 people going to Cinepolis with drinks and food approach $100. You can get by with $40-$50 for 2.

The people are friendlier and give you greetings of the day and more warm compared to my neighbors in USA I don't even know my neighbors in USA And doubt they want to say Hello,. We just get in our cars and drive out the driveway and maybe give occasional wave. I've had total strangers in Mexico help change a flat tire or give change for the parking lot.

The only pet peeve is all of the people that need hand outs like the older people bagging your groceries, parking attendants, and parking lots. Most of these are free services in USA, but it is a job they create since Mexico doesn't have a social safety net for their elderly. Plenty more to love about Mexico, but it really comes down to value for your dollar. I'll let my investments in USA Keep getting inflated and afford a comfortable life down south. Ill let the people chasing the American dream keep running the rat race and they can help me payoff my liabilities while the assets grow in value. In the future PDC would be ideal right on 5th avenue as it is walkable with restaurants and entertainment right at your feet.

Pharmacies south of the border selling fentanyl-laced prescription meds.

    By: Salvador Rivera.

Posted: Feb 6, 2023/08:25 PM CST Updated: Feb 6, 2023/08:25 PM CST.

TIJUANA (Border Report) — An investigation conducted by the LOS Angeles Times found that pharmacies south of the border are selling — possibly unknowingly — prescription medications laced with fentanyl or methamphetamine.

The investigation, published last week under the headline, "Some pharmacies in Mexico passing off fentanyl, meth as legitimate pharmaceuticals," found some pharmacies in Tijuana, Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, are selling counterfeit prescription pills laced "with stronger and deadlier drugs and passing them off as legitimate pharmaceuticals. ".

Times personnel purchased oxycodone, hydrocodone and other medications, and most of the came back positive for either fentanyl and methamphetamine.

According to the article, 71 percent of 17 pills tested positive for meth or fentanyl.

The Times also cited a similar study conducted by a team led by UCLA researchers that found similar results.

Pharmacies and others in Tijuana have been quick to denounce the Times story.

Dr. Raul Palacios, who runs a drug counseling facility for juveniles, said he finds it hard to believe medications are being laced with potentially deadly drugs and sold to unsuspecting customers.

"Would they contain fentanyl, highly unlikely," Palacios said as he shook his head. "It could be with a simple test, legal amphetamines test positive for methamphetamine because they contain the same active ingredient, but more tests would have to be done to confirm it. ".

Julian Palombo, head of Tijuana's chamber of commerce, also questioned the Time article.

"There is a lot of oversight by the government making it almost impossible to taint legal medications with illegal drugs," said Palombo. "This is only generating a bad image for the city of Tijuana, especially in the eyes of families who visit or might visit in the future. ".

Palombo said the pharmacy industry is also looking bad.

"This is worrisome that they could claim it's happening," he stated. "We would like this foreign medium that published the story to help us learn more and give us the names of the actual pharmacies reportedly selling the fentanyl and meth-laced products to see if any are committing any crimes. ".

The Times also found that pharmacists might not know they are selling fentanyl-laced pills. Cecilia Farfáand-Mendez, who studies cartels as head of research at UC San Diego's Center of USA -Mexican Studies, told the newspaper that pharmacy owners are most likely not buying directly from the criminal organizations and that there are typically networks of middlemen.

Border Report reached out to the Times about its article, but was told its communications team would respond later about doubts cast by people in Tijuana and about the methodology used to test the pills staff members purchased for the story.

Fox is a fucking trip. I remember they once had a reporter in North Dakota to interview real Americans and got their concerns about Mexicans invading California and turning this great nation "Mexican. "

I would trust his experience then since he must have been screwed over, my best guess is he probably never bought or owned in Mexico. Plenty of foreigners own in other countries. Just look at SoCal with the Chinese and Russians parking their money in housing since they don't trust their own country. You just have to go through proper legal channels to purchase property and always tie it to a mortgage since you'll have a partner with more financial backing to go to bat for you if run into problems. Also they will do proper due diligence to ensure title is clear and no issues with ownership.

I haven't experienced any problems in Rosarito either. If the guy worked as a DA on criminal cases, then I'm sure he probably had some people that weren't too happy with his case work. I would probably chalk it up to an accident or possibly linked to cases he worked or working on in O.C.

It is better to just rent for now, but could potentially turn them into airbnbs if the condo association doesn't have issues.
