I have seen them when I arrived 1 PM every Sunday. They were still there after midnight, so looks like HK has 24/7 armed security guards, a few times petite women with their big shiny Glocks. How are they going to protect HK when guys show up with their AK47's, spraying the place then torch it. It's a death job but someone has to do it.
The alley behind HK and Chavelas has been a busy spot for drug dealers for the past 20 years. Working people used to line up 20 deep for their deals when the dealers showed up at night, not so obvious recently. Dealers would sometimes hid their stash inside Chavelas and run in and out for supplies. Now they store their stash in utility holes on the sidewalk.
Tijuana has been Sinaloa cartel's territory for decades, who taxes bars, clubs and casinos for protection. CJNG has been trying to take over this territory. They shot quite a few dealers in La Zona including the 2 Sinaloa dealers who ran into Chavelas and died last year. Chavelas' back door has been closed since. Looks like LE has a beef about Chavelas harboring drug dealers. But new dealers showed up after a few days.
A lot more dealers, men and women, were shot along Ave Constitucion, 5 times when I was there, so there were likely many more murders when I was not there. Those dealers looked like independents, not sanctioned by any cartels, so they were taken out. A few years back a jealous woman shot her husband near HK's back door, a street girl got injured. But regular girls still work at that spot, Anais, Juliana were the 2 tall hot ones, a few others not worth mentioning.

Hawgow, I want you to trust the people you talk with a little less as you walk to the Zona Norte, especially when it is dark.

Posts: 2569I met him as well. He was hanging out by Cohuilla st and Constitucion. I talked to him for awhile and she showed me his badge after asked him what he did for a living. But he never asked for any money. So I believe was real undercover cop. He says that the cops are mainly interested in arresting the drug suppliers and not the dealers. This one girl told me that the police only lockup the dealers for 3 days.

Posts: 168For you guys who like the SGs in the Alley and need extra Police protection. Seek out Roberto Martinez. Badge 001 - heavy set man mid 50's. He will show you his official Tijuana Police Dept badge and ask you for a Propina and then promise to protect you in the alley.

It's one of the reasons I'd never meet up with anyone from these boards in Tijuana (LOL). IMO just keep your mouth shut when it comes to certain topics, keep a low profile, and have a good time!

In regards to me knowing little about the real Tijuana I'm more than happy for you to make an argument on anything I've posted not being correct. I also enjoy the fact that a person who doesn't speak Spanish, has never lived in Tijuana or spent time going to birthday parties and other events with cartel members would educate me on how things really are in Tijuana.

You remember wrong!
I never said HK owner had Augustin whacked! My guess was CJNG has been trying to muscle HK to pay tax. They killed 2 Sinaloa's street dealers who ran into Chavelas' back door for protection and died there.
It's you who knows little about the real Tijuana but keeps talking big.

Also this advice goes to everyone that posts detailed info on this board especially those of you that talk about how much cash you will be carrying on you when you cross the border. It's not necessary and leaves you open to the wrong person trying to befriend you and take advantage of you. Remember this is a public forum.
