I have noticed that the cops will often stop people and search them for no apparent reason. I have not been searched myself, but was wondering if anyone knows anything. ?

Posts: 49Vitamins for stamina and protection against illness. They really work
For Tijuana virgins like myself, the stories about Tijuana police skaking down tourists is troubling. I'm mid-40's and have been taking vitamins daily since early 20's. I basically follow Linus Pauling's regimen as spelled out in his book "How to Live Longer and Feel Better", which I read many years ago, and recommend to everyone who wants to live longer and feel better. And in this hobby, you need all the help you can get, right.
So I take 2 grams of Vitamin_C powder everyday, a multi-mineral supplement, 100 units of each of the eight B_vitamins, 400 IU of Vitamin E, and Lutein and Zeaxanthin in place of Vitamin A. So everyday I take 4 vitamin pills and the Vitmain_C Powder.
Will customs on the USA or Mexico side give me a hassle when trying to cross the border with my small, compact 7-day vitamin dispenser? I'll be in Tijuana for 1 to 2 weeks, and I'd really feel naked without my vitamins, especially the Vitamin_C powder, which unfortunately is a white power that looks like cocaine I guess. But really, it's just Vitamin_C officer. Damn.

Jamie and the news was warning me that there could be increased crime because Guzaman was arrested. Personally I think it's sensible to use more caution. But I am not overly concerned since there is a lot more police around these days.

Hi I know this is from 2010 but I want other mongers to know Tecate is darn safe. Even the travel books say it and me being there already 3 times I saw it is safe for sure. I should also be there next month after I go to Ensenada. I will go directly there. Good time to go though is end of the week.
The only downside I heard that was bad in Tecate a few years ago same with Tijuana there was narco issues but a truce these days all safe now. My friend did have a gun pointed to him and another friend back then in a washroom in Fiesta Mangos the strip club on the road to Mexicali past the cop shop there. Anyways that was more an isolated issue. Tecate was always known for being safe and people are very darn friendly in Tecate. Easy to meet a girl here for sure.
If anyone needs more info on Tecate post here or pm me,
Nibu

Posts: 1304Ahem. When I go to Mex, I wear my "uniform." It consist of pants with hidden pockets, to protect from pickpocket assholes. I got these pants from, http://www.scottevest.com/v3_store/s..._shorts.shtml.
I also have a hidden wallet, hidden money belt, and leather money belt, to protect from crooked cops in Mex. You can get these items from www.amazon.com. I've been robbed 3 times by the crooked cops in Mex. These items have helped me out. I carry a regular wallet, with a little chump change in it, and tell cops that's all I have.

Careful how you handle the cops in certain parts of town. On July 4 A guy was stopped for no seat belt and when he offered the cop $300 pesos, he was arrested for attempted bribery of a police officer. I have the clipping from the newspaper. It happened. Unbelievable, I know, but it happened.
