I was looking at a 2-3 br in Las Olas right on the ocean on outskirts of Rosarito and going for $300k - $400k. Issue is financing since foreigners have to put large down payment and high interest rate loan or pay cash. Usually ask 30-50% down with 15-25 yr terms at 9-10%. It is better to just rent for now, but could potentially turn them into airbnbs if the condo association doesn't have issues.

    Rosarito crime

Rosarito is safe during day so long as you stick to the tourist areas. I rarely go to Rosarito since I do not drive in Mexico. A friend goes there quite often and he has not had any problems.

Of all the nice beach resorts along California and Baja, why this couple had to hang out in Rosarito?

Policia in be see has thousands of deaths and murders to investigate, but the family wanted immediate report, not to happen. LE agencies and coroners anywhere do not have to report investigation details to anyone until they complete their work. We still don't know details of what happened to this guy. Morgues in BC are filled up with dead bodies. Of course they want to cremate bodies quickly.

Grieving family members usually have suspicion and will make quick accusations. I hope the family can recover the body and do an independent autopsy to arrive at some conclusions.

On a separate note, OC public defender office did some good work recently, proving the sheriff office and its investigators use illegal tactics with jail cell informers, vacating convictions in many important criminal cases. Public defenders are poorly paid and loaded up with lots of cases. It's very rare to find them to go the distance above and beyond the norms like OC office. I am impressed with their work.

Don't forget OC is famous for nailing ex All America' sheriff Mike Carona for federal felony witness tampering in a corruption case involving his friend, an used car dealer in South OC. He served 8 years and 8 months in Club Fed Colorado.

Same here. One chatted with me a couple of weeks ago. Young friendly dude with tons of cash and a big quiet buddy (bodyguard). I was polite but I quickly excused myself. The number of young Mexican guys with huge cash and a big buddy has gone up after the Pandemic.

Shootings in US are usually random violence. Shootings in Mexico are targeted, executed by pro sicarios. I am afraid one of these days cartels' factions will clash in places like HK. A few cartel guys have been flaunting money, having fun in the club with armed body guards.

There was just another mass shooting in Half Moon in the Bay Area. Nothing has changed, and nothing will change anytime soon. So it's only a question of when, not if.

As the story unfolded, it appeared to be more an accident than a crime. The grieving widow claimed it was the act of a 'brutal crime' but circumstances suggest otherwise. The guy was found dead at one AM in his underwear in his hotel, having fallen three or four stories. The wife was asleep throughout, and was awokened by hotel employees notifying her about her husband's status. He had been drinking that evening, and there was noise of birds at the hotel, which he was trying to shoo away earlier. Most likely, they guy left his room to quiet the birds and fell down.

Grieving widows often cry foul. Some years ago, an aunt of mine claimed that hospital staff murdered her husband after he entered a hospital with chest pains and died in their care. She could not believe that her superman died of natural causes. She still believes hospital staff killed him.

10 dead on scene, shooting in dance hall Lunar new Year eve Monterrey Park

The guy opened fired with an AR-15 assault rifle in the Star Ballroom dancing club in Monterrey Park. 10 dead on scene, many more wounded.

Looks like someone had a grudge, may be racial.

Don't go ballroom dancing with your Chinese sweetheart in Chinatown. Only old men and women go there to do the slow Foxtrot.

Tijuana is definitely safer, sexier and more fun.

The gunman who opened fire at a ballroom dance studio in Monterey Park on Saturday night, killing 10 people and injuring 10 others, remained at large Sunday morning, authorities said.

LOS Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said, "We are utilizing every resource to apprehend this suspect in what we believe to be one of the county's most heinous cases. ".

The shooting occurred near the site where tens of thousands had gathered Saturday for the start of a two-day Lunar New Year festival, one of the largest holiday events in the region. Sunday's events were canceled in view of the shooting, authorities said.

Rosarito is generally known as a quiet beach town with far less criminality than Tijuana. On the other hand, that cartel boss was in a firefight in Rosarito I think, before he was caught and caused the shutdown of Tijuana. I am guessing that murder of the public defender from the OC was a mistake in identity. Perhaps they thought he was DEA? Las Playas used to be a quiet section of Tijuana in the past. Until they found out later that members of the cartel lived over there. That was a couple of years ago. Maybe the cartel relocated to Rosarito? I don't know. Just speculating. They got to live somewhere. They got money.

People are just lazy. Get a job and you won't have to risk being in a 6 x9 cell. I was watching the Bernard Goetz documentary. These 4 dumb lazy teenagers threatened him to give them 5 whole dollars. LOL. All the work they put into his attempted robbery, they could have worked at McDonald's. Luckily they were all shot.
