Exit southbound I-5 at exit for example: E Street, H Street, Palomar St, Palm Ave, Iris Ave, Beyer Blvd. Each trolley station has a parking lot. E Street, Palomar St. Parking lots are large and I know Palomar St. Parking has cameras. The last trolley from San Ysidro is 1258 AM and the next after 430 AM. Ticket price for one-way trolley $ 2. 50 (over 60 yo. $ 1. 25) BTW If you park on a trolley parking lot you must use a trolley and parking is free for 24 hours. This is a good deal compared to the parking border on the weekend $ 25- $ 30 / every 8 hrs. (If you exit I-5 "last exit USA" it will be "Las Americas Premium Outlets" and border traffic chaos, there is no trolley station).

Southbound on I-5, get off on Palomar and go east (left.) Just off the highway on your right will be Palomar station. It is one of the larger trolley stations because it is also a hub for the city buses. You can hop on the Blue Line trolley for San Ysidro there.

Traffic near the border (on the US side) can be crazy and chaotic and parking $ 25-30/8 hrs.

He was being sarcastic in response to another unnecessarily sarcastic post.

That's all I needed to know. Hey, if there's a comprehensive sidebar on holiday schedules I'll hold that L, but I'm not going to let "elites" walk all over me for asking genuine questions in a forum that purpose to exist for sharing information, not measuring dick size.

I was in Tijuana Saturday and Sunday, the city was packed Saturday night, holiday parties. No issues, but you still need to be careful Crime is on the rise.

I was hoping to find out what people's thoughts were, whether firsthand or if they had done research. Tips, tricks, ways to avoid the hassle, if one border crossing is better than the others, etc. Thanks in advance, I really appreciate your help!

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I feel much better, and I didn't even think about people heading home for the holidays.

Thanks for the offer! I'll definitely keep it in mind if my plans change; in theory I start a new job mid January, assuming the boss doesn't withdraw his offer.
