Thank you for helping to take out these rateros. I bet you just did something the Tijuana locals wanted to do for months too.
I've had three total mugging attempts in Tijuana and all 3 pre—dated the migrants caravans. Two were Mexican nationals on Coahulia between Revo and Ninoes Heros. The third was just east of the waterfountain at the west side of the Tijuana River pedestrian bridge (main walkway that leads to Arch if you walk west). Two were normal hours (between. 9 pm and 11 pm) and the Ped Bridge was me being stupid at about 2 am and letting my situational awareness drop (I had grown accustomed to seeing vagrants at the bottom of the stairs). That attempt was a deportee (spoke perfect English with no accent) and a Mexican friend (an assumption based on appearance, no English, and the fact he was about 25 yrs old, yet only 5' 4" around 140. At 220 5 foot 10 inches, I had my way with him with ease).

I would agree that fighting back is prob a bad idea but, I have prior military related experience (deployed 3 years and trained for hand to hand) and I honestly don't give a fuck. You're going to have to put in work to steal from me.

The cops very likely let them go when you ran off. The cops don't care and in some cases if you understand Spanish will hear them giving the ratero shit about letting a gringo catch them.

Glad you got the ass whooping in. I've had 2 experiences: once on Ped bridge over Tijuana river. I punched the first deportee before he knew it was coming (he asked for my phone) but his Mexican friend was too hard to hit despite holding him with my left hand as I punched with my right. Cop station was right across the street but they wouldn't even come out to look. The second time I slipped on concrete and my glasses went flying. I had broken my rule of never wearing glasses to Tijuana and I had to decide: do I chase and lose my only pair of subscription glasses or let the shit head get away? Plus, he ran down an alley I wasn't really wanting to go (next to HDS where druggies hang out on the sidewalk, heading north).

If you have a great mechanic, and by that I mean one with electrical expertise consider having a kill switch put in.

It's a button or switch, hidden that one has to press before starting car. I myself had a two combo, so they have to press two buttons in order to start the car.

Will a real pro car thief overcome this? Well ya. But it will take them time.

But for the vast majority of attempted steals they are going to move on.

Attempted robbery two Rateros Beat Up.

So Sunday evening walking out of the Zona around 830 Pm. Standing on the corner of Primera and the Main Street that goes to the border with the HSBC bank on the corner. His partner starts to put the rateros in the patrol car the other cop tells me to wait while he helps his partner. Fuck that as soon as he turns his back I run 3 blocks west then north to hideout in Hk to let it die down. Get a free lap dance from some random chick near the back door within 5 minutes of setting foot in the place. I guess I must have cut my hand during the scuffle I also dislocated my middle finger popped back into place. I didn't even notice because of the adrenaline rush she said you are bleeding asked what happened I told her I just beat up two guys because they tried to rob me and I hiding from the cops. That must have got her pussy wet because she started French kissing me. I was not really in the mood because I just finished up a session in Adelitas. So all in all ratero went to jail with a busted head. I'm sure these fucks will think twice before pulling a stunt like that. I felt satisfaction that I performed a public service for the Citizens of Tijuana. The funny thing is the people across the street at the pharmacy were laughing after it went down. I'm sure these fucks robbed a few people in the area and are known scum bags. So yes sometimes Christmas comes early. Be careful out there gents.

A club is like a chihuahua watch dog. They can overcome it, but they generally move on to easier targets.

Stolen cars is generally unheard of in other parts of the country but in San Diego the numbers would shock you. I'm surprised car insurance isn't double the east coast. Having parked in trolly lots the past two years I've seen 20 year old Nissan Sentra using the club. You'd never see that in most of the country. My preferred method is disconnecting the car battery and hoping they don't have time to look under the hood.

Exit southbound I-5 at exit for example: E Street, H Street, Palomar St, Palm Ave, Iris Ave, Beyer Blvd. Each trolley station has a parking lot. E Street, Palomar St. Parking lots are large and I know Palomar St. Parking has cameras. The last trolley from San Ysidro is 1258 AM and the next after 430 AM. Ticket price for one-way trolley $ 2. 50 (over 60 yo. $ 1. 25) BTW If you park on a trolley parking lot you must use a trolley and parking is free for 24 hours. This is a good deal compared to the parking border on the weekend $ 25- $ 30 / every 8 hrs. (If you exit I-5 "last exit USA" it will be "Las Americas Premium Outlets" and border traffic chaos, there is no trolley station).

Southbound on I-5, get off on Palomar and go east (left.) Just off the highway on your right will be Palomar station. It is one of the larger trolley stations because it is also a hub for the city buses. You can hop on the Blue Line trolley for San Ysidro there.

I park my car at the trolley station in Chula Vista and take the trolley to the border and taxi to Zona. Very easy. Traffic near the border (on the US side) can be crazy and chaotic and parking $ 25-30/8 hrs.

That's all I needed to know. Hey, if there's a comprehensive sidebar on holiday schedules I'll hold that L, but I'm not going to let "elites" walk all over me for asking genuine questions in a forum that purpose to exist for sharing information, not measuring dick size.
