The shootings is very odd & sad. It is inexplicable why a candy seller would assassinated in the Zona. My only theory is that she was possibly a dealer or made deliveries for the dealers. Hopefully the police crack down on the dealers in the Zona. If the police had 1 or 2 foot patrols it would eliminate most of problems in the Zona. If anyone is in the Zona please post on the police enforcement.

Compared to usa everyone kinda minds their own business. So I let my guard down but I really shouldn't be walking around any of these streets.
Sometimes the spidey sense doesn't work as well when you're not in a familiar environment, I catch myself having to re-calibrate sometimes too.

This isn't just happening in the Zona but it's a daily routine in the city. The biggest difference so far this year is that they have already had about 40 women killed. This seems to be getting people to make more noise and they are expecting a large March next week March the 8th for international woman's day.

One of my chica friends told me it happened around 10 pm on the 23rd. She said everyone went about their business as if nothing happened. Perhaps we should avoid walking through the alleys for the time being just in case. Lately I only go down there when Im staying at Cascadas to meet with my regulars so no reason to really go through the alley anyway, for me at least. Proceed with caution.

Yup, my phone pretty much never leaves my pocket when Im in the area. Gotta be alert at all times.

Must have been a stray bullet. There is no reason why they would be involved. The police have allowed the dealers to operate to freely in the Zona.

    Dead street dealers on constitucion

Quite a few dealers on that side of Constitucion, even an old woman. Apparently they were not sanctioned by Sinaloa cartel, so they are shot dead.

I have seen 2 guys shot dead in the bar next to Libra parking, one inside and one on the street. An old guy was shot dead in front of the barber shop. One was shot in the leg by policias in front of Ibiza ect.

These are street dealers earning $50 a day max, but willing to risk their lives for it.
