So a tourist was shot to death inside HK?

And they called it an attack with a firearm inside Chubelas instead of HK.

    Or did the victim lived?

Interesting. I love the HK public relations spin though.

    El Crimen

Reading all of this stuff about crime against tourists in Mexico makes being in Colombia seem not so bad after all. Hell there's enough stuff going down in Tijuana that you have a long and lengthy thread devoted just to it! I'll stick to my favorites Brazil (allegedly the dangerous one right) and Germany.

2 shot in Las Chavelas Oct 4?

The article said 2 shot inside Las Chavelas. Wonder who got shot, who did the shooting, and what for?

How did anyone got guns past HK's security guards with metal detectors, groping guys' crotches for guns?

Some jealous meathead probably posted fake news to scare guys off, so he can have all old, ugly, lumpy Chavelas women for himself LOL.

Residents and merchants of the North Zone and the Castillo neighborhood of the Central Zone of Tijuana experienced moments of terror, with armed attacks that left a dead carnitas merchant and two more people injured.

It was approximately at 3:00 pm When in the Libertad alley of the Castillo neighborhood a person was reported injured with a firearm inside a carnitas store, upon the arrival of police and paramedics they confirmed that the person no longer had Vital signs.

At the same time in Calle Primera and Callejand Coahuila in the North Zone, it was reported that inside the Las Chavelas bar two people were attacked with a firearm, who were treated by Red Cross personnel.

A strong police mobilization that included the support of the National Guard and the Mexican army became visible in the surrounding streets and avenues, which also led to an armed person on board a van displaying a suspicious attitude and being detained on Gonzlez Ortega street in the North Zone.

At the moment, the authorities have not shared more details of the high-impact events recorded on the afternoon of October 4, and the State Attorney General's Office is in charge of the corresponding investigations.
Damn, at Chavelas? So basically inside Hong Kong SMH. Maybe keeping the Chavelas name for that portion of the club was a good idea after all since it will keep Hong Kongs name out of the headlines if anything like this goes down. Just a couple weeks ago I reported about a massive brawl near the small stage in the back area of Hong Kong. I was right in the ramp area, in the middle of the club when it broke out and high tailed it out of there.

    Tijuana history

Well, I started going to Tijuana after 9/11. I was collecting unemployment after mass layoffs and decided to go that first time, and have gone back ever since. That's 20 years now. My rules I've followed to keep safe. I have never been robbed or even had a close call. I've had police stop me for WWW 3 times, but they never took a dime.

    1) always wear tshirts and jeans. Never dress nice and never wear jewelry. 2) Bring cheap phone or older phone for strictly mongering. Always use a new Mexican sim from oxxo and contact all girls and escort agencies with that sim. Always throw it away after your trip and save any numbers of repeat girls you like. Never buy drugs or get drunk. No one is your friend. Tip the girls 5 or 10 bucks for good service but never a lot where they think you're rich. 5 or 10 bucks goes a long way. Your job in America is a simple paycheck to paycheck type job. Pick one if asked.

I take Ubers every time unless I'm just getting to Tijuana. Never talk to barkers, they are bad news. No thanks should be your best response always. I can't say you will never halve problems following these rules but it has served me well for 29 years, so I must be doing something right.

No one cares if black men kill each other in the USA. Black trash killing other black trash is a welcome thing. That's the thought process in Mexico too. Cartel trash killing other cartel trash.

I've always thought about this for Tijuana. If you run into trouble with police or criminals you would be sitting duck at the border in a car. They will all know where to get you. If you escape a bad situation leave the car in Mexico and cur the line run into border at pedestrian area or consider taking taxi to Otay to cross. For example, when I got choked out by the group of 6, even if I was able to fight these deported types, and hurt them, I would have to get out of Zona immediately. And they would know it, and likely have someone looking for me at the border or be at the border themselves. This guy shot in the car probably had beef with someone who knows all he has to do is hang out at the 2 hour line and hit him up. Like shooting fish in a bow.

I respectfully suggest the Zona is not that dangerous for those who stick to Pussy and Beer. Note! Another well known YouTuber was kicked out of HK for filming videos. As others have stated. Don't draw attention to yourselves. My post is for the newbie or lurker. Because some of you guys act like it is a war zone for the average Gringo just trying to get off a Nut' - it isn't. Be respectful, go in the clubs, have fun upstairs and don't buy or negotiate drugs. You'll be fine.
It really is this simple but this world is replete with idiots who'll go looking for trouble in a foreign, unfamiliar country for whatever reason. Even now you've got some dude in the HK thread on this board asking about smuggling drugs into Tijuana LOL.

Better to keep a low profile and don't cause any drama. I like drinking and fucking cute latinas. I am not into drama.

If the dealers keep murdering street dealers for selling $100 worth of drugs a day, they can do a lot worse violence for more money. A few southern Californians have been kidnapped for ransoms then murdered anyway in Tijuana. 2 Italian guys driving a van in Michoacan got murdered an burned in their van a few years ago. They were probably dealers screwing the cartel over so they got burned. There are many more cases not reported. Very few murders are investigated and only about 1 % murders get prosecuted. Crimes and violence in Tijuana are actually a lot worse than official figures.

This guy Marshall Powell speaks Spanish like a native. By 5 AM lots of cars and people are already on the street going to work, but jumping into an unknown cab was a bad mistake. Most cab drivers and losers, shady characters or outright criminals. If you let your guards down, you will likely get robbed or worse. 2 young couples got in a taxi outside of HK past midnight for a ride back to the border. They still wanted more beers so the driver drove them to a store on the way then encouraged them to drink while he was driving away from the border and talking on the phone to some other guys. Policias soon pulled the cab over, accused 4 people of drinking in moving vehicle, fine $400 each. They took all the money left in the group, like over $1,000. The cab drivers obviously set him up with this policia friends and split the loot.

Don't trust any taxi driver in Tijuana or any where in Mexico. They are a bunch of rude, greedy assholes which should be avoided. They should have taken HK's limousine or UBER, would be safer.

Strange as it may sound, it's comforting to know that it wasn't random violence, LOL. Guys weren't following street code even after they had been warned.

Apparently certain people had been warned but they kept doing it and so what happened, happened.
