I'm just now getting over covid for the second time. First was last March. This one knocked me straight down to the ground. I was sick as a dog all last week and just now starting to feel normal again. I never did get vaccinated thinking I was immune from the first time. And now I'm wondering if I should get vaxxed or if I've got antibodies since I've already contracted and recovered from it. Any advice would be welcome.

Do it, the more antibodies you have the better off you are. Israel started giving out a third dose as a booster shot just to increase antibodies and help protect against Delta, and of course the inevitable next variant.

Well, if you ask scientists, many thought humans shouldn't be doing gain of function studies as disease escaping labs is not a new or rare thing. Other scientists, either morollay or financially corrupt, like dr Fauci, believed gain of function, despite the risk of the disease escaping lab killing hundreds millions people, they insisted, and still insist, it was worth it. So. They take a bat covid, change it to spread to people, then it escapes lab, and they try and say the disease started 3 blocks from the lab, not in the coronavirus lab. I know these people personally. They all had 2 shots of vaccines but were infected again, must be with new variants. 1 has died, 2 hospitalized for 2 months so far, and 2 young ones having severe symptoms at home.

So the 2 shots of vaccine do not protect against new variants. We would have to have new vaccine against every new variants as they emerge. This cycle may never stop.

Countries in Asia are doing hard lock down. Latin America is far worse, not isolating seriously. Tijuana and Mexico is now risky with the fast transmission of this new variant. With new strict travel restriction enforced recently, visits to Asia and Latin America may not be possible this year or next year.

We are very severely and globally fucked by this virus.

I know a few people in my very small circle of friends, a few old and also fairly young in late 20's, had 2 doses of vaccination, but recently got CoVid infected, confirmed by tests.

1 older guy died; his wife and daughter in her 30's have been hospitalized for 2 months, not coming out of it yet. 2 young ones in late 20's are holing up in their home but are so sick they cannot work or do normal chores around the house.

After the lock down in March 2020, I was going everywhere before getting any vaccine, including multiple visits to Tijuana's speakeasies weekly, did not get infected. But now it sounds very scary that even vaccinated we can still be infected and die from the variant d.

Meanwhile a few HK girls are flying in to work this weekend and have been texting me to meet up. You think If I go to Tijuana this weekend, I have a good chance not picking up variant the, or if picking up, at least stay alive a few more years to monger?

The vaccines were designed to keep people from dying from Covid symptoms. It was not designed to stop transmission. So the uncomfortable truth is that Vaccinate people are acting as a carriers and killing a lot of anti-vax folks.

The good news is that if you were completely vaccinated, especially with 2 dose, then you will have about a 99% chance of surviving.

The bad news is that you may kill off someone in your circle who refused vaccination, and now it is too fucking late for that person to get a vaccine.

I hope you tell those HK girls flying in that it will take about 2-4 weeks after the last dose for the vaccine to fully become effective. A lot of girls I know flew in, got vaccinated in the morning and worked that night.

You guys sound as if kidnapping isn't a thing in Mexico. As if it happens once or twice a year.

No it's common. But the evidence is sorta weak at this time.

The PI will likely have to show more than bruises all over the body because drunks tend to fall down a lot. Probably have to see if his ribs, nuts or liver were especially roughed up. And breaking a nose or a black eye or a couple of tooth knocked out isn't really going to disfigure a person to the point of misidentifying. To me, the PI probably took photos of the body with bruises. Whether he was attacked is an opinion formed by the family, probably with prejudice because of they just lost some one they love.

I wonder if the wife gets a large life insurance payout or pension from the fire department. We had a family friend that owned a clinic in Tijuana and did pretty good for himself. He came up missing and body was never found. Wife kept house in SoCal along with his remaining assets. Who knows what he was truly involved in and specialized in treating elderly dementia and other mental disorder patients. It could have been a bitter family member, possibly competition, who knows? Elderly care makes big money as another family friend owns some facilities in SoCal and charge $6-8 k per patient per month and they share rooms with an on-site nurse. I wanted to get into the business, but they said it is high liability insurance and stressful as the patients mental capacity severely declined. I was at a holiday party and a patient came out to talk to me and kept saying they wanted to go home and then started peeing on the floor. It is a sad line of business as you know your clients are on their last leg.

I know my ex could take me out anytime and I have a number of life insurance policies for the kids, but I’m still kicking for now. A car accident caused by a teenager a couple weeks ago almost took me out, but waiting on the insurance payout.

So, did these kidnappers ask for ransom? If so, the reporting sure doesn't mention any of it. It just says the "family believes." So, the guy was kidnaped right in the resort, and there were no witnesses? Nobody saw him leave?

I have no idea what happened but the entire story stinks to high heaven. He goes back to the bar, he vanishes without a trace, he shows up in some other hotel, no ransom demand. If you want another off the wall theory, I say he met a girl in the bar, she convinced him to come back to her place, and he was robbed there, and tried to escape through a window. Hey it sounds just as plausible as anything else.

No signs of violence at the death scene. They found him trapped in a bathroom window and died of mechanical asphyxiation. Very vague as to which hotel, as well as other details. But it doesn't look like he was beaten or thrown out of a windows. I do know, based on both articles, that alcohol was involved.
