I don't think BLM thugs and ANTIFA garbage are nowhere near as powerful as the cartels. I think I get your point though. We have a lot of nerve in this country shit talking Mexico crime and disorder when we had those two groups roaming around last summer setting fire to American cities and being a nuisance while being supported by the Democrat machine and a complicit media. Until America is perfect we shouldn't criticize Mexico. Moe.

Great Movie about Mexico. - Crime / Safety / The Police. Drama - New Order

Just saw a great movie at the theaters last night called New Order. Shot in Mexico is a cross between the race demonstrations in the US and how some cartels deal with getting their money.

The cartels own Mexico and Tijuana and to believe otherwise is just naive. There is no Mexican government force at any level that is more powerful than the cartels--not the police, not the national guard, not the military. True, the cartel war has not ended. But the Cartels have pretty much gotten their asses kicked in the last decade. Some of the most powerful cartels being dismantled into gangs. Most of the baddest bosses extradited to the US or dead. A lot of what you see or watch are dated.
I concur with Jinxx. Most that have family in certain parts of Mexico it is complete control by the cartels and they are only getting stronger now with Grandpa Joe in charge.

Japanese Restaurant Owner Murdered in Tijuana, Baja California

The 43 YO man originally from Japan was murdered Thursday morning in May.

Appeared he knew his assassins. About $1,500 was taken from the safe.

People speculate, he did not pay the cartel's tax, or involved in some bad deals.

According to local reports and the restaurant's Facebook page, Taro Yoshida ran two ramen shops in Tijuana.

Taro Yoshida, 43, the owner of "Yoshi Ramen", an iconic restaurant on Avenida Revolución in Tijuana, Baja California, was murdered last week.

Police officers received an emergency call last Thursday at 11 am That a man was shot on the second floor of another Yoshi Ramen branch in Playas de Tijuana. Upon entering the premises, they found Yoshida's body.

The man, of Japanese origin, was sitting in a reclining chair, with his feet on a table. He was wearing a Jersey of the Japan national football team. The victim was hit by a firearm projectile in the chest and head.

According to investigators, the restaurant did not have video surveillance cameras. No one was arrested for the crime.

Citing a security guard of the restaurant, the reports also said Yoshida had left with two men early Thursday morning and the three later returned together, but nothing about the interaction aroused suspicion.

Taro Yoshida opened his first "Yoshi Ramen" establishment on Avenida Revolucion, between Third and Fourth streets. After much success in that branch, he chose to open a second one in Playas in Tijuana, where he was executed.

"he was always a hard-working and happy person. Strict but he just wanted to give good customer service. Even when the restaurant was full, he always gave us cookies and always let me play with his dog Midori," recalled Alexis Ochoa, one of his clients.

Tristán Rivera, another of his regular diners, described him as a helpful man, fond of Tijuana.

"I often went to eat at Yoshi Ramen with my daughter. I got along well with Yoshida because he always treated us kindly, with special attention. He gave us dessert and things for my daughter. Yoshida said he was a Tijuana native", she said.

    Motive.

Investigators do not discard the possibility that Yoshida knew his assassin given the circumstances of the crime. His final position made it clear that he felt comfortable enough in front of his assassin to remain in a relaxed and carefree posture (I. E. Sitting on a reclining chair with his legs up on the table).

He was shot in the back, which may also indicate that Yoshida was unaware of his assassin and did not feel danger.

A robbery has not been discarded. In addition to the murder, the assassin stole MXN $30,000 from a safe. Reports do not mention if the safe had a passcode.

With all due respect I think you couldn't possibly be more mistaken. The cartels are more powerful now than they've ever been. The evidence being the ever increasing murder rate. The incident when the federales arrested the mob boss in Culiacan then released him after they were overpowered, out manned, and out gunned by the cartel soldiers.

I could go on and on as I follow these things very closely but the point is the cartels are moving more product, making more money, killing more people, paying off more government officials than they ever have. Things aren't getting better. They're getting worse. Parts of Mexico are completely controlled by cartel criminals. I'm talking complete lawlessness, warlord, every man for himself, kill or be killed type of environments.

Is this corruption mentality spilling over into the US? God save us if it does. Right now I see a major major threat coming from domestic terrorists in the US. These "militia" groups popping up nowadays, they're going around threatening violence based on propaganda and fabricated lies. They try to brand themselves as "freedom fighters" and "patriots", but really all they are is violent thugs who thrive on intimidation, fear, and violence, not very different from the cartels and mafias of Mexico. They're trying to destroy the rule of law in the US. And once guns and bullets are able to overpower the courts and legislators, that's it the US will no longer be a free civilized country. Whichever group happens to have the most guns and armed thugs will be the ones who get to dictate the government and public policy. These criminals who use lies and propaganda to justify their violent armed power grab are a serious serious serious threat to American freedom and security.

Better yet send to downtown Houston or New Orleans, they would not survive 6 hours without the police. Defund the police is the dumbest idea ever.

One way would be have third parties that would monitor expose corruption & payoffs etc. The Mexican government has refused because of national pride.

USA is definitely trending towards Mexico's lawlessness

Avocado and lime farms' harvests were taken over at gun point by cartels. Farmers forced to destroy their crops and plant marijuana. People kidnapped, tortured, murdered, raped routinely.

My Mexican friends from Michoacan get news from families and friends regularly and they are deadly afraid. Most have not returned to visit for 40 years.

Cartels have soldiers, distributors, dealers imbedded in all major areas of the US with huge revenues from drugs sales, weapons, hitmen. Eventually they will corrupt and control the US government just like they did in Mexico.
