I have been searching the forum, and have not found any reports on Chitose. It is my understanding it is an hour away from Sapporo? Has anyone been there, and if so is there anything happening there?

So I am on my vacation in Sapporo and as promised here is my first report, as a quick side note my Japanese is pretty good.

I stayed at the Mercure Hotel there in Susukino. The problem is the lobby is on the 3rd (?) floor and guests have to pass directly by the lobby in order to gain access to any of the elevators which provide access to the rooms.

Yeah I saw that and was hoping you would weigh in. The whole forced to pass through the lobby thing is what I was wondering about.

Right now I'm eyeing a few;

Sapporo Tokyu Inn.

Hotel Sunroute New Sapporo.

Dormy Inn PREMIUM Sapporo or the Annex (although they're a bit farther than I would like)

And possibly the Jasmac Plaza Hotel (slightly pricy but looks like a good location and it might be worth it just for the spa)

Not 100% where I'll stay yet. Thanks for the info about the Mecure, I was considering that but I don't feel like dealing with front desk staff if I don't have to.

You'll note in my Sapporo report, which appears further down, I stayed at the Mercure Hotel there in Susukino. It's a really nice hotel with a decent breakfast included for most stay packages. Location-wise it's a good choice for proximity to P4P action. But visitor friendly? Perhaps not. The problem is the lobby is on the 3rd (?) floor and guests have to pass directly by the lobby in order to gain access to any of the elevators which provide access to the rooms. (And elevator operation requires a swipe of your room key as well.) When I brought the Chinese girl back to my room the lobby staff eyed me suspiciously but didn't actually say anything. I suppose I coulda asked if having a guest over for a few hours was okay, but I didn't bother. For the big boobed JP girl I decided not to push my luck and I had her lead us to a Susukino LH. It was the end of April and still chilly and very windy, so I decided to not roam the streets and rather to try my luck at City Boys / City Girls (which can be found via a map link in this thread). My Japanese is very limited: I only got through a few audio lessons before this trip. I did learn one useful phrase (spelling is sure to be wrong)"watashi wa nihongo ga skoshi wakarimas, demo mudda joe-ja jari masen" which means "I speak a little Japanese but I'm not yet an expert". I think the latter part of the phrase sounded facile and made them feel as if I actually could speak it.

I started with City Boys. As I entered, the people on the first floor said "Japanese only". I ignored them and took the elevator to the top. On the top floor, the two tenchos both invited me in but said that I could have only one girl whose picture wasn't all that attractive. Check out the Google maps link below and you will see three markers. One marker is the hotel where I stayed. Incidentally, outside of the back exit of that hotel there is a P4P business down on the corner, but I avoided it because I didn't want my business contacts too much in my "business".
