Sapporo is an untapped gem. There must be 100 soaplands in Susukino. Japan is not a country where you should base your travel decisions solely on the availability of prostitution; it is not Thailand or Philippines, or even Germany.

It is available, but as you've mentioned can be difficult for foreigners, esp if you don't speak the language. It is not a matter of "national pride", just that Japanese people do not like getting into situations where they cannot communicate properly. Not just language, but understanding of culture and social expectations. Past "bad behaviour" by foreigners has closed many doors.

As to Sapporo, have you read any of the posts below? You do not seem to have acknowledged any of this information.

You better go down to Susukino street of downtown Sapporo. There is. If you call a taxi neer the downtown. Taxi basic fee is from around USD 10 bucks. You got to be a little bit in understanding Japanese. I was so limited in understanding Japanese. So I could get in there. 30 min fuck with BJ cost around Usd100 or so.
