My trip is canceled. But i did inquire (through email) some of the budget hotels and they responded that they do allow guests overnight provided the guest signs in the register and if in doubt, the guest should provide some age proof.

I miss the temples.

Hi all,

I am coming to SR on Jan13th. Searched our forums and net to see girl friendly hotel and where I can get some action but with little help. Old reports show that golden banana, mandalayinn, twodragons, were GF. Not sure about current status. Max $20 for AC. Prefer to tip the girl more and spend less on room.

Any pointers on budget hotels that are guest friendly (will be great if it has WIFI). Been to Pattaya and phuket and I understand SR is not known for this but for temples. So my first priority is temple and would like to spend the night glad. If any forum member will be in SR at this time, will be more than happy to meet and beer is on me.

I just made it back home from Cambodia. I am glad that you had fun in Siem reap but if you paid more than $20 to play then you got ripped off big time. Hint-you can get the old time rates if you are a repeat customer Shop around because some places have nice viet girls, and others have some cold bitches. Over all, I had the most fun at the blue mountain. I am also happy to report that the chicken ranch is alive and well. I never made it back there again as I had already shagged at other places. But there will be a next time hopefully

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm confused as the title of your post said Siem Reap but I don't ever remember a Blue Mt in SR?- only Blue Mt I know was in Snooky. And since you are on the topic of prices, care to give us the latest prices you paid in SR and Blue Mt and chicken ranch so we all don't get ripped off as you put it.

Based on what I got from the board, scoring in SR was pretty easy - so thanks to those before. Started at Blue Wave which is on the side street to the left of Hotel de La Paix. Hello from Siem Reap.

Well Cambodia is a drastic change from Malaysia and Singapore. One thing you will not see is the red highlighted words on your entry card which says, "Death penalty for drugs".

I tried out two pizza places whilst searching for the perfect happy pizza. The first was a ritzty place, called red pizza or something like that. Anyway, the pizza gave me a buzz similar to having drunk 3 or 4 beers. And I was still light headed 12 hours later. I tried the happy herb pizza restaurant here in Siem Reap. You can smell the ganja but you will not get a high. I was so totally disappointed. I mentioned this to my tuk tuk driver and he offered to help me get the real ganja.

According the my driver all of the places where the Vietnamese girls were at have been permanently closed by the cops. I will try to verify this. I have been busy seeing the Angkor what ruins.

Malaysia is fairly strict

Potential death penalty for even small amounts . . . yep, that's fairly strict. Cambodia is a free-for-all by comparison. But Siem Reap might be one place to be just a bit careful, because it's such a tourist trap.

I just went back from a 2 week trip in Cambodja.

So this time I checked some MP's in Siem Reap.
I must say, most of them offer a very good massage but non of them offered me something more!

I also have the impression that by authorities a lot is done to keep an eye on

Many thanks bro's - I'm aware of the problems that can come up with this subject but as some have said it varies quite a bit. In Indonesia they will prosecute for thinking about weed, Malaysia is fairly strict, Thailand is much worse on the seller than the tourist for small amounts which makes it tough to get. Viet Nam and Phillipines - don't know, will have to ask. It is not important enough to change my schedule but is good to know the local custom. It does enhance the monger experience though so I thought it OK to ask on this forum, especially since most mongers are straight shooters.......LDP

While it may be semi-legal in Cambodia, for gods sake don't be tempted to take it to another country where the laws may not be so tolerant.

I've just been watching the series 'Big Trouble in Tourist Thailand' on YouTube where an 18-year-old got arrested at a Full Moon party with a small amount of weed. Fortunately, because of her age and a first offense, she got let off. This should not be taken for granted though. The mental anguish that she must have suffered was phenomenal. Another Brit has been banged up for dealing and will be out of society for a very long time. It doesn't take much for the Thai police to nick you and they can be very, very intolerant.

Likewise, Middle Eastern countries tend to take a very dim view of drugs if you are caught with them.

By all means take advantage of the stuff but don't take it with you unless you are prepared for a stretch in a nasty place of confinement.

Excellent info guys, thanks a lot. Seems so strange that their main currency is USD but it must work for them. I have one other question that I have found no reference to at all. What is the skinny on herbal refreshment? I know this can be a controversial question but inquiring minds have got to know. Is it available or are the local laws so strict that no one dares to get near it?............LDP

Cambodia is the most tolerant with the herb, in South East Asia or Asia for that matter. All the happy pizza joints had an herbal side order. Older locals blaze & everybody (locals) told me I could roll up & put it in the air. Still be cautious in public as cops find it an easy way to get $ out of you. Check webehigh.com I chilled with my moto driver & his friends who owned a restaurant in front of the lake, almost every night after they closed. We hung out & put one up as if we were in Amsterdam. I chilled in a hammock in front of the restaurant with an magnificent view of the lake, & blazed a fat one to the dome every night. My moto driver even suggested I light up on the way to see the temples on his moto bike. Be careful of witch moto drivers to trust though. I so happen to find a cool, young, down to earth, cat, who even took me to his village where he lives 45 min. Away from the city. Man, I might have to look through my old pics. To post some of the ladies I encountered.
