There will be more impact at Brix and OT because many of the expats and foreigners get out of town and it becomes a buyers market.

As you'll be aware from the forum, Geylang street action has been down for months due to more zealous law enforcement. This is a far more significant factor than CNY, especially as the crackdown affects all the Geylang beat and not just Chinese. I've sometimes been lucky in recent months but often it's been slim pickings for all races on the street and loitering in the coffee shops. Houses are operating as normal and there are still pimps around. The pimps aren't my thing but others who choose carefully report satisfactory results.

In previous years I've noticed little effect on mongering activity in the days following CNY but things may be a little quiet on the night of CNY Eve. Houses may close earlier but should quickly be back to normal in the days following.

Many not spending time with family will treat CNY as a normal holiday so on the eve of CNY OT will be going strong till late. I've regularly hit Ipanema post 1 am with a group of non P4P friends. Maybe a little more non P4P in there than normal. I've also tried Golden Mile and Chijmes which have been busy - neither are explicit P4P venues, but there are opportunities.

it a old story. about a year old. just remembered it and found interesting to share.

i was in singapore for a day and so to make most of it checked into hotel 81 lucky. in the evening after finishing my work i returned to hotel, left all my belongings and most of my money hiden in my big bag and even laptop hid inside the big bag went out for hunting.

i just doubted a honest girl. in order to repent i went down after a while and asked her again for whole 3 hours for 200$, which was truly best service i have ever got for wg anywhere.

I'll add what little I know. I went to one of the lorongs in Geyland, since I'm brown, he charged me $40 for 25 minutes, this was almost 2 years ago, this was a lorong with thai girls, the ones with Malaysians are normally more expensive, I went to a few and didn't find the girls that good looking so came out. In this one, like a fishbowl, there were about 6 girls, I chose the cutest, though she also seemd the least enthusiastic, started off with a shower, and later did a hand job, I opted for this before a CBJ. The answer is yes, OT is somewhat of a santioned RLD zone- in this case, a building. I have been there during what many may consider a police raid but they didn't do anything but walk thru the place and picked out a few people to see ID (and that included the guys also as many don't know that Sgn now have some Malay sneaking over the border, so many illegals are also men and not just women) but usually leaves the Caucasians alone unless they were acting like drunken jerks.

Singapore is very safe and the legal brothels will ensure all is trouble free and theft free. They have a reputation to uphold and don't want the word out that someone is stealing in their joint.

Firstly I wanted to thank everyone's contributions to the board. I will be visiting town for the 1st time since 2005, next month. That time Geylang was kicking with various types of women. Naturally, recent reports have concerned me. I have arranged to stay at a Hotel 81 in the area, specially for the action.

With regards to brothels/fishbowls, its never been my preferred style. much prefer street women. Never been too concerned about the police before around there. Last time, the highlights seemed to be this outdoor line up of Indonesian women run by pimps (not a great setup, but the women were worth it - I have read about this being mentioned in recent reports) and an area of S. Indian/Sri Lankan women. I've been racking my brain to remember how I got past any lingo probs but can't remember them.

Anyway, from what I recall, there used to be a general guideline to which ethnic group occupied which lorongs. Can anyone just recap which were found where? Even if those rules don't really apply anymore, due to the changes in the area. Also, I'm not particularly bothered about Thai/PRC women. Needless to say I will be reporting fully upon my return.

Yes, maybe my original post wasn't clear. Police and ICA (Immigration) do sometimes visit OT, but police are there to support ICA and the issue is immigration - girls working on a visitor pass. These visits are infrequent and ordinary mongers need not be concerned.

Singapore does have a reputation for being strict on LE issues but apart from drugs (which is an area of no interest for me) I find the place pretty liberal, especially compared with USA and UK. As long as you are respectful of others no one will trouble you. No prostitution busts and no 'John TV' here. Don't be embarrassed to enjoy yourself.

you will see the ones that are legal easily. they mostly have open doors, but a screen outside mostly prevents you from peeping inside. you have to actually go inside. there won't be as many girls sitting in the bowl as for examply in thailand. only a handfull mostly.

i have only been inside one, and the feel, yes, it did struck me as safe. you won't have the police knocking on the door or think you will be robbed. the girl is in that house.
