I just started catching up on the singapore / geylang scene in this forum because I have some trips to this region comming up.

It been a few years since I've been there, but it was pretty straight forward then for a typical monger. They are lined up on the road with pimps keeping a close eye on them, no need to speak English back and forth, just speak dollars. Chinese were the dominant force, with straggler nations also representing. Chinese fishbowls will turn you away, but Thai is open season, at least back then it was like I have just described. Last trip in March, I stayed in a condo on LOR 20 geylang. 3-4 houses there, seem to open by 1-2 pm, and if you see the girls sitting outside in the AM. You can negotiate with them immediately then.
