90-100 persons at risk of acquiring TB at a later stage if not treated

PHILIPSBURG--Between 90 and 100 persons are at risk of acquiring open tuberculosis (TB) at a later stage if no treatment is given now, according to calculations conducted by local health authorities on the number of persons who visited the adult entertainment establishment where a brothel worker tested positive for open TB recently.

“Persons who visited Border Bar … who have not yet made the effort to get tested risk developing TB infection which can later develop into the TB disease,” the Government Information Service (GIS) said in a press release Thursday. “Persons could have the infection and it has been calculated that approximately 90-100 persons with the infection can later develop TB disease if no treatment is given.”

No new cases of open TB have been confirmed in the investigations to determine whether anyone else has contracted the disease. However, health authorities said three persons were being monitored. These persons are not residing at Border Bar.

“All persons working and living at the adult entertainment establishment known as Border Bar have been tested. The results revealed that there is no risk for the transmission of TB at that particular establishment. In addition, three persons are still being monitored, but none of them are living at the establishment.

“Since the discovery of the open tuberculosis case, a number of activities have taken place and are currently ongoing in efforts by Sector Health Care Affairs to protect public health,” GIS said, adding that investigations revealed the brothel worker had not contracted the disease on the island.

SHCA is again “strongly urging” all persons who have visited Border Bar to visit the offices of SHCA or their family physicians. Tests are being done at SHCA’s office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00am to 7:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00 noon.

Persons have been divided in three groups, according to the dates they visited Border Bar. The first group is for persons who have visited Border Bar May 1-15.

The second and third groups to be called up will be those who visited Border Bar May 16-31 and June 1-15. “This has been structured into three groups because the Mantoux test becomes positive in approximately eight to 12 weeks after contact with a person who has active TB,” GIS said.

Head of the Preventative Health Section of Sector Health Care Affairs (SHCA) Dr. Rachel Eersel had said earlier that it had been agreed in a meeting with local media managers that the number of persons who had visited the bar would be released at the end of the testing periods.

“From a public health perspective, the bar can be reopened for business. However, due to financial and medical matters, among others, the establishment will remain closed until those matters have been resolved,” stated the GIS release.

This continues the series of events that happened with my regular Colombiana at one of the clubs in st maarten:

After we sent my regular's young friend off to Colombia at the airport and returned to her room for amazing sex (see #3), I thought we would have the afternoon to ourselves. I was wrong. They said they might deport her back to st maarten! my regular got a desperate cellphone call, took control of the situation, sweet talked the lady immigration officer in curacao, smoothed things over, and told her friend to be quiet and sleep in the airport if necessary.

Eventually, it turned out that the young friend only had to spend one night in Curacao, in a hotel, not sleeping in the terminal. It could be that she got the hotel room and the flight the next day because they deported her to colombia (or perhaps I misunderstood the multi-translated messages). I talked to this young woman when she called from Colombia and she said she was very happy to be home.

Another interesting thing I learned from this trip: the girls now get their passports back when they are actually on the airplane out of St Maarten. I think too many girls have been jumping ship and staying in St Maarten illegally with their new boyfriends. If the police gave then back their passports when they checked in, they could just walk out the airport a free woman.

Briedward .... just my 2 cents.

If you're just going to St Maarten for the chicas, and you'd like GFE, all day type chicas, it seems a bit expensive ... I mean $300-400 dollars for one chica for one 24 hour period.

I think I read where you're recently single again and looking for fun with latin chicas ... colombianas.

Do yourself a favor, read up on the Cartagena section or Medellin section in Colombia.
For Medellin, also look up www.medellinmansion.com, these guys run a full service, gringo oriented hotel / chica intro service.
Most likely exactly what you need. You can find GFE, all night, all day fun for much less than SXM.

Who knows, you may even meet a non-pro in Colombia and get it (fun) practically free. You never know.

I enjoy the SXM scene also, but only if I happen to be there for other reasons as well. For me, paying that much cash is mucho, too much for just a day with a chica.
Paying the standard fee in the clubs themselves, for the 30 min to hour session would be OK though.

I am torn between choosing St Maarten, Curacao, and Bogota. St Maarten seems like a nice place even w/out girls, then Curacao. Bogota makes me feel a little uneasy atm because of my lack of Spanish (which I will be working on overtime - lol).

You proposed almost an oxymoron. Routard is a very lucky man and is very successful in his choice of women. Routard finds beautiful and romantic women . My experience is that the young drop dead looking women are great on the sales end but in the room, they fail. They know they are beautiful and young and do not give their all in the room. No BBBJ, no dfk, and rather mechanical sex. I have never had sex with a 10 that was more than a 6 in the room. I choose women that may be an 8 or 9. They are like avis, they try harder. 2 costs: bar fine for day time and another for the night. Varies from $40 to $100 per 1/2 day depending on the bar; second cost is a fee for the girl. this varies dramatically depending upon how much business she is doing, how much she likes you, how much she needs to get out of the club, etc. figure $100 to $300 for overnight (4pm to 11am next morning). for the day time (11am until 8pm when they have to sign in), figure $100 to $200.

luckily for your pocketbook, october is still low season in st maarten, so most girls will not be doing that much business.

also consider Campo Allegre in Curacao - you can stay all night in the girl's room without a bar fine and they are free during the day time, I think.

Normal price is 300$ for the night (9pm till 11am) and 150$ (11am till 8pm) for the day, but this is negotiable. Multa is fixed however, 40$ for the day and 40$ for the night. Can become pretty expensive in Saint Maarten if you plan to stay for long term, you should better try to go to Colombia for that.

Short term is cheap, 40$ and if you wait till closing time 2am, there is no multa anymore for TLN and the girl just asks for 200$ till 10am.
