Over all it was not as good an experience as I have had in the past. I would not rate things as being bad at this point. I will head out a bit later next time to see if the problem was a timing thing. I may have been over eager being my first night there.

Hey Knoteebouy. Thanks for the report. I was surprised to hear that there were so few chicas in the clubs since I thought there was a pretty good selection.

Now I heard that there was some sort of big party somewhere on the island and many chicas there. Wherever that was. I would have loved to be around for that one. A friend sent me a photo of several girls all dressed up in the back of what looked to be a really nice SUV. They were packed in and apparently on their way to the fiesta.

I think the festivities went on both Wednesday and Thursday nights but is now over. Hopefully things will be back to normal now and you can find the right one for the rest of your visit.

Wheels down at 4 pm. Did booze run then checked into villa. Unpacked, cleaned up then headed out. Arrived at Carolinas around 8 pm. Did a quick head count. Counting me there was a total of one persons in the bar; not counting the 2 bartenders. Ordered a beer and went next door for Chinese dinner. Ordered chicken fried rice. Got shrimp fried rice. No problem; it was tasty.

Back to the bar. About 8:40 a few guys arrive. One guy walks in with a an attractive tall slender girl in a tight skirt and form fitting top. They take a quick look around and walk out. In that case try a place called Bananas. Right near the marina. Santa Marta is divided by the mountains. The better area to stay is the half of the town on the other side of the mountains away from the airport.

The cab ride to this area is 28,000 pesos.

I see. I don't know anyone there but I guess you'll never know anyone in that area if you never go there, right? May sound strange but I actually like lower class joints. Especially if they house hot women, even if there are 6's and 7's I can see myself enjoying the place. I have learned that trying to get the top echelon girls won't always result in good value and the trato may leave you disappointed. You pay top dollar and thus your expectation is a bit higher, but performance of the girls often isn't up to par with the price they are asking. I would much rather go with a low key bar where I can find myself good trato for which I'm willing to pay a fair compensation, plus add a proper propina accordingly.

Thus Santa Marta may very well be a good place for me to scout for talent. Maybe not spend a whole vacation there but a weekend or so couldn't hurt. Thanks for mentioning Santa Marta and thanks for your advice.

Unless you know someone in the Santa marta-Rododero area, I would skip Santa Marta. There are a few clubs but low class compared to other towns. However there are many hot chicas in the clubs. The problem is getting them out of the club.

I imagine Santa Marta being nice and close to the coast with good weather, not a big city feel like BOG or MDE and maybe less touristy compared to Barranquilla / Cartagena?

Campo is very hard to miss. If the airport is at your back turn left and drive a mile or so. There is a huge Palm Tree sign on your left. Just drive up that road and Campo is at the end.

Agreed, you can't miss it. However, on your first visit try going during the day while the sun is still up. The leaf that Mel is referring to is not lit at night and you won't see it from the main road. Worst case scenario you should have driven to the Airport hotel and ask a taxi driver to guide you guys to Campo for a modest fee. Going to Curacao and not going to Campo because you couldn't find it is unacceptable.

When you leave the airport take a left. After about a mile the road bends to the right. After the bend take the very first exit to your left, and you'll see Campo's large parking lot on your left.

Yep, that's the place. I just came back from a 2 week stay in Campo, rented a room there and stayed among the girls which was a great experience. Met up with a guy who is a SXM regular. He flew in for a short weekend trip, picked him up at the airport and together we tore through Campo that weekend, good times. Collected quite a few good contacts from Cali and Medellin for my upcoming first trip to Colombia. Only left Campo once to check out a bar with Venezuelan girls, not far from Campo. Interesting place with a good amount of inexperienced girls.

All in a walled in compound. Metal detector on entry $6- to enter. Each chica has her own small room with shower and sitting area in addition to the bedroom.
