OK. I drove by the other night, but did not go in. I just felt too uncomfortable with the scene surrounding the bar areas to get out of the car as I am solo. Felt too much like being in el Centro at night, in MDE. But I did go back yesterday, during the day and went in; probably arrived about 1:30. Was a very slow day as there were ZERO cruise ships in port. I did not know that happened based on the 3-5 that were in port every other day of my visit. LOL The selection was limited and a few were napping. I did go back with a decent looking Colombiana from Cali. Bar is OK with some sofas surrounding a small dance stage. Not sure how much dancing that goes on there, but that could be a fun place to be when the girls are dancing and having fun.

Pretty much what you get is a casa-level experience. Chat with a chica over a drink, then head back to the room after she has man-handled your package to full attention. LOL Rooms are OK, as the girls live in their rooms, so that aspect was better than I would have thought from the look of the outside. Both bar area and rooms were far better that what it looked like on the outside.

After the deed was done, I was satisfied and did not regret going. And even though I did not see the full selection of chicas, I have determined it is not really my kind of place. Price was right, but I am not a casa guy and that is exactly what it is. Carolinas appears to get decent looking Colombianas who are just a bit over the age threshold for consistent business in their home country. The one I went with fit that profile, but she also preferred St Maarten as she did not want to do this kind of work in her home country for fear of family or friends discovering what she was doing. Those who enjoy the casa experience will enjoy the place; low investment, pop and leave. And while I prefer the experience / service I receive in MDE, I can see visiting again if I was here for just a few days, or in-port on a cruise.

Hi. Sorry to hear that your experience wasn't what you had hoped for or what you expected. I hope that you have better luck in MDE.

Unfortunately you only were able to get the flavor of Carolinas in the afternoon. Normally the PM is pretty quite when compared to the night and even worse if no ships were in. I believe that unless the girls have been taken out they are generally required to be available during the afternoons while not necessarily sitting in the bar. When no ships are in port I think there is a lot more freedom given to the girls and they can go out and run some errands or just get caught up on some sleep thus the selection is not the best. The nights are usually much more entertaining with maybe 25-30 chicas to choose from at Carolinas.

For first timers to SXM I have to agree that entering the casas at night can be a bit daunting. A couple of years ago in my first visit I too was questioning my wisdom about going in but thought "what the hell" and haven't looked back since. With the local standing on the street in front of Carolinas or even hanging out in the hallway leading to the entrance looks scary but I don't think that anyone who is behaving properly should have a problem. At least I haven't. I will admit, however, I was questioning my wisdom more than once during my last visit when I arrived when the area was without power. There were many, many more guy hanging out (in the almost complete darkness) than usual and I did feel uncomfortable but all turned out OK.

As written here many times each of us have a different way of going about our business. It sounds like you are more in favor a a club atmosphere than being in the casas. Good for you. If I were a lot younger maybe I would feel the same. However since I have way too many years, I prefer the casa scene. I prefer to get comfortable at the bar, check our the talent and have fun selecting out my novia for the night, and having fun. At first I was all for the quick pop and run but now I find that spending time with just the right one (they do put on a great show and make you feel wanted) and spend time including TLD / TLN makes for a fantastic time. For me it makes the mongering experience just so much better.

Anyway, again, good luck in MDE. I hope to see your reports since a couple of my more recent novias would really like me to visit them in Colombia. Wonder whY? LOL.

You can't really compare MDE and SXM. I've been to each several times now, and both have their advantages / disadvantages. But you are comparing an island where you can drive around in maybe 60 minutes, vs. A big city. A population of 60,000 vs. 3 million. Obviously with a larger city, there's a good chance there's a lot more of everything including crime. There's also a lot more women, but you are also going to require a lot more patience and work in MDE. If you don't speak spanish, forget it. Very little of the population speaks english, and you'll need to know at least conversational spanish to ensure a decent experience. With SXM, you get good quality, in a much more manageable location, and the girls eventually know a little bit of english although I still advise anyone visiting Latin America to learn a little bit of spanish. And when I say conversational spanish, I mean exactly that. Not pulling out your phone and having to type in a sentence and show the chica. You might be able to get away with that in SXM as it's all business for the chicas, but in MDE that's not working. I enjoy MDE (and Colombia) for the GFE, large selection of pro / semi / non, and the value (exception being Cartagena) but I would not go there if I was not able to at least have good understanding of spanish and could carry a proper conversation that extended beyond me asking hola como estas?

With that said, I've had very good experiences in SXM and I find it to be an excellent destination especially if you are going for just a few days or a weekend. Value wise it's good as well, no it's not the cheapest on this of the hemisphere but I've never felt like I'm paying too much. Cost of living for these chicas on the island and what they have to send back home is a lot different compared to living in MDE. So if you want cheap sex and don't care about quality, look somewhere else. SXM generally delivers very good looking chicas (I've never had a problem finding one) and service for what you pay. I have had a couple not so good experiences at SXM but I've also had the same in Bogota, Medellin, Sosua, San Jose, Pattaya, Bangkok, Amsterdam, Berlin etc etc. The bars in SXM are not the fanciest, but you can figure that one out easily from the moment you get on the side of the island anyways. I've never had a problem with the inside of the bars, I like the atmosphere at night and the rooms in Hypnotic are very good, roomier, and with A / see's. Carolina rooms are smaller, not as comfortable but there is a restaurant on site with good food, and it does have the largest selection of Colombian chicas.

To anyone trying to decide between SXM and MDE, or trying to do a comparison I'd advise you to rethink that and just experience both at different times of the year if you have the time and money to do so. They are both different, and I consider one to be much easier than the other but that's because everything is there within a short drive (SXM), and you're at locations where it's all business. MDE is different, you need to speak spanish, you need to have some game, and for a chance at having a good experience you need to create some chemistry with the chica. You could also just stick to MP's and clubs in MDE, but that's not going to be much different than going to a club in SXM either. I have work in Colombia now so I'm a bit used to it after the last several months, but SXM has always been a favorite of mine. Forget what the bars look like on the outside, get in there, and see the quality for yourself. If you're on the island for a couple nights then go during the day and the evening (after 8 PM), and this time of year at night you'll find a very good selection of some beautiful women that make you wonder if they picked some of the best looking girls in Colombia and put them on the island for a few months. Drive everywhere between the clubs, regardless of distance and how it seems so close to the next club (I'd say you're OK to walk across the street from Carolina to Crystal's, but everything else nope). When it comes to cost, yes MDE is going to be lower but you are definitely working for that experience, and many guys prefer the ease of SXM. You pick, and you go. Want some more? You can stay in the same location and sample another one, or do the quick 30 second drive to the next place. Visit both and experience for yourself. If you lack english and can't get rid of the hard on when thinking about going to Colombia for the first time, then go with Cartagena.

Understood. I guess the main reason the comparison was so relevant was because I am heading to MDE today, for a week. Hence, no real incentive to visit SXM clubs when I knew what tonight and the next week has in-store for me. Posted a review of my visit to Carolina's, yesterday. Had a satisfying experience despite the limited number of girls being available. And I agree, I think it would be better at night and suspect the girls are more in a fiesta-mood and the stage gets used to entice customers. Would go again in the evening if I had a friend or friends with me. Still not sure I am all that comfortable in that area after dark. I agree with your assessment; probably better for a few days. With more time, I prefer the GFE-like vs 3-G's. LOL.

You shouldn't have a problem. Once you get in you likely will be greeted by at least one, if not two or three Colombianas and you will forget your concerns. Just enjoy.

Thanks to all for the assistance in helping me find the clubs. I was out touring the island today and drove by while I was in the area. To be perfectly honest, the places kinda spooked me. They look pretty run-down and I wonder if I will be sorry I even went there. I am sure there are some lovelies in there, but wonder if I will be sorry I went inside. Can someone help me understand what it is like inside the bar and the rooms. I am quite selective with where I shag. And since I am heading to MDE for a week after I leave here, I wonder if I should just save my pesos, and leche, for the MDE Beauties that will visit me at my cozy and safe apartment.

I think the chances of having any problems whatsoever during the daytime are near zero.

Chances are small, but sh*t can happen even during daytime (just as it can happen anywhere else.) Here's something that happened a while ago, about 30 min after I drove down that alley, so I remember the incident:

I've seen people completely wasted and / or stoned, and not once did I hear that they got robbed or something happened to them.

If you don't feel comfortable, try going to Carolina during the daytime, right after 11 am. That's when all girls have to "register" at the bar. Yes, you may waste a lot of time in traffic, but on the other hand you'll be able to see most of the chicas under "normal" daylight so you'll have a better idea if they're worth $53 for 30 min.

Casa Blanca, Sunset, Petit and Defiance, once inside everything will be ok, but if it's past midnight and you see suspicious individuals loitering on the parking lot, just drive to the next bar. The bars are safe, but the area around them unfortunately is a different thing.

I've never felt unsafe in Carolina's, Hypnotic or El Capitan. Petite can attract a rough and scary crowd, but I've never actually been bothered the few times I was there.

I hope you weren't expecting luxury. That particular section of St Maarten and Suckergarden Road is kinda beat up and is not at all a tourist attraction other than the clubs and the chicas. Depending on the time you were touring, the girls could have been napping in the afternoon.

Also depending on the number of cruise ships in port, you may hit a club that is packed in the early afternoon (11 am-3 pm kinda). On a day when there are few or zero cruise ships. The chicas will probably not be working and instead will be shopping or sleeping or touring the island. The club might be open but it will be lifeless and not fun.

Go an have an adventure. Keep your eyes out for potential problems.

Don't drink too much. Don't drink and drive. Don't walk to the clubs at night.

Say Hello, to everyone and be confident. Don't be scared by the guys hanging around the outside / doors of the clubs.

Learn a bit of Spanish. I like making a connection of some sort, and speaking the chica's language is an easy way to make that happen. Just about all the chicas made it clear verbally or with body language that they were more interested in me after I began conversing with them in Spanish.

Don't be an asshole to the girls. Be nice. I took the gentleman route and tried to compliment them & joke with them. I didn't immediately tried to grab ass or grind on them. I did that later after we had a good rapport. With the ones that I didn't find that attractive, I at least tried to be polite. If you hang around the club enough, the chicas will talk to each other about you. Hopefully they will say nice things about you.

Tip the bartender. They don't have an easy job and they will certainly remember you. Don't be cheap in the bar-area and instead be generous if you can afford it. Buy the girl her & maybe her friend drinks. Don't be obvious & make yourself a human ATM-machine, but give tips. $5 is pocket change for most of us. It is stupid easy to blow $10 on Starbucks, cigarettes, or fast food. $5 to them is like $75 to us.

Bring your own preferred rubbers. Maybe a variety pack from Trojan. Different friction, texture, etc. Makes it different for you & her. Variety is the spice of life, you know.

Be recently showered. I know its hard for married guys or guys coming from the cruise ships, but if you can, shower just before going to the club. I use cologne & got a bunch of favorable comments in English and Spanish about smelling good. I got the feeling that plenty of grimy & sweaty guys visit the chicas with no regard to their hygiene. Back in her room, when getting ready for action, I would always ask to use the bathroom & washed my crotch. Again I received favorable comments about being clean.

Have fun while no one is watching. Since I did this trip solo & don't know anyone else in the club, I jumped at the opportunity to become someone else for a couple hours. As an example: I am self conscious & know I don't have good dance moves, but I didn't let that stop me from having a good time at the bar dancing with the chicas. If you can dance, well then, expect to get eager dance partners.

Rent a car. Get the maximum damage insurance. If new to SXM, get a GPS or use a smartphone. Use Google Earth & Google maps. If unsure, take a taxi the first time out.

Be local. I found it to my advantage to stay at a hotel on the Dutch side and be kinda close to the clubs. It made driving at night to get back to the hotel very easy.

Second video is the drive from Hypnotic / Seamans to Sugar Picker's circle downtown. The drive goes past El Capitan then over to Carolina & Crystal, then onto Petite Chateau (typo on name in video) and then ending at the circle by downtown. This drive is the opposite direction I took from my post last year. I hope this is helpful to ones that have never been to the island.

The last video starts just before Arch Rd -- which is the road you take if you go from Carolina to El Captian) The drive takes you past Defiance (about a 4 minute drive from El Captian) and continuing on to Casa Blanca which is another couple minutes up the road. You'll also note passing Sunset Retreat which no longer has a sign on top. This time the video shows Casa Blanca better and I actually drive up the driveway. Looks like they are adding onto the place.

WOW. Tremendous thanks. Have a rental car for a few days and plan to go at least one of the days. I seem to have even seen video directions and what each club looked like from the outside, but have NO idea where I saw that.

I seem to have seen one before, but have been searching this morning, but cannot seem to locate.

Here is the trick. The forum allows you to view 1000 posts on one web page if you use the printable view http://www.internationalsexguide.inf...pp=1000&page=1.

So then I click on that and use the browser's CTRL-F to find in the page the word: map.
