As it turns out the situation on the island isn't as bad as I previously thought. You just have to be at the right place at the right time. This was mentioned in some previous reports. The status can change from hour to hour. If not minute to minute.

I'll write a more detailed report when I read turn home and have a chance to do it on a real computer rather than trying to type on the cell phone. But, all is good.

Hi Barkey, It appears the club scene in SXM still has a ways to go on its road to recovery. I have many fond memories of time spent at Carolinas and the old Hypnotique and look forward to returning some day.

I decided to booked a visit Curacao in November not being sure about the club situation in SXM. Based on your report it sounds like I made the right call. Hopefully you will find at least one gem during your trip.

1. Did they finally install AC units in the chicas' rooms?

2. "Defiance" didn't charge room fees in daytime, I assume the same still holds? Could you find out what their 30 min room and TLN (multa) fees are?

Nothing like first hand, on the ground intel! Sounds like things are slow in the area of Carolinas. And Defiance being off the beaten path inland, doesn't draw the cruise ship passengers and crews like the clubs in Suckergarden, lots of locals, but no big deal. What about LE Petit? Is that open? And El Capitan, the site of the original Seamans. That building seemed pretty sturdy to withstand hurricane damage. Met a few gems in Hypnotic, but unsure of the status of that club.

You're spot on with your description of the interior of Defiance / Empire. Back in the day, the place was pretty hopping. Parking lot can fill up beyond capacity at night, and inside the place it's pretty big. You used to be able to walk entirely around the bar and have the bartender hand you your drink, as opposed to now, since they changed the layout and you feel like the dice guy at a craps table is pushing the drink to you.

Since you're up that way, in the afternoon you should check out Sunset Retreat and Casa Blanca which aren't far from Defiance at all. Sunset has the afternoon happy hour, and who knows who might be in Casa Blanca. There was a time Casa Blanca had about 20 chicas hanging around in the afternoon, and you'd walk in and be a rockstar and have to push the girls away. Guess that's all changed. And the place may have been heavily damaged, due to last year's hurricane and approximately to Oyster Pond, which took it on the chin.

Went inside I did see one girl chatting with an apparent local friend at the bar but other than that nada. Just a bunch of locals sitting down in the couches watching TV and talking amongst themselves. I nursed a beer as long as I could but nothing developed. Maybe one or two girls emerged but they were not very high on the desirability scale. At least in my books. So much for Carolinas that night.

Chicas gathered in little groups in different parts of the bar and the guys were separately grouped together. For the most part the talent was not the greatest.

This has to be the biggest and widest bar that I have ever seen.

The bartender had what appeared to be a shuffleboard type of stick in order to reach across the bar and recover empty glasses or bottles and shoved filled drinks to the customers. The unfortunate part was that a lot of the butts on the girls were even wider. Yikes. Not what I look forward.

I did notice one very attractive dark skinned girl there who really caught my eye.

Tall slender and very nice looking. Unfortunately I was too slow.

I decided to hang around for a little while longer and eventually a very cute Paisa caught my attention. While she did not have the perfect overall qualities I would hope to find she has an incrediblly captivating face. Very very pretty. I'm dating myself here but she reminded me if Mary Ann from Gillian's island. Had she not been in the thicker side she had the potential to be way up in my numerical scale. In spite of the fact that BBJ was not going to happen I did get a cowboy ride that really made up fir it. She moved in a way that really got me going. Likely will repeat but still looking for the right one. I believe her name is Paulina. Several more days to hunt. I.

One good thing about Empire is that if there's nothing else going on they do seem to have a porn channel going all the time. Unfortunately if you are if average size you might feel a little insecure.

Not posted For a while but my fiend tells me Ashley in Defiance is very good if she is still there, he not been out to clubs for a while due to injury.

Well, not great. I arrived on island a few days ago and was a little concerned about the doom and gloom reports. I've been here before in September and I know this isn't the best time for mongering but I do recall that there were some good opportunities. Unfortunately it seems like this year is not going to be quite as good.

My first afternoon here, while out doing a shopping run, I stopped in to Carolinas to check things out. It was about 2 PM and there were a few chicas hanging out. Maybe five or six. A couple seemed quite doable and the others so so. Not unusual, they were all occupied on their celulares. They all look bored but this initial observation I thought things can't be too bad and was excited about coming back later.

I also stopped into what I thought was Defiance but apparently the name has changed to Empire. I had never been here before and was really surprised to see the size of the bar area. Plenty of seating away from the bar itself and two dance stages.

I chatted for a bit with a Dominicana named Candy. She said she was the only one from the DR here but there were about 20 girls in total. Herself, one from Venezuela and the rest all Colombianas. She wasn't really my type that sounded like she was very accommodating and I might check her out a little later.

I am not a real late night person so I thought that maybe 9 PM would be at least a good time to get started. First stop was Carolinas. Absolutely dead. Maybe a handful of locals hanging out in the bar but no chicas in sight. I had a quick beer and then walked across the street to crystals. Again no chicas insight. Just a few guys hanging out. I exited very quickly and made my way to Empire. At least there was a little bit of a selection here. Nothing really great but possibly there was hope. I was spotted very quickly buy candy and went with her. All in all it was a pretty disappointing session. She wasn't really my type but I made the most of it and maybe I'll have better luck another night.

More reports to follow and hopefully things will pick up a bit. I apologize for any typos or weird spelling. I hate writing on cell phones.

Just got a report that they expect 56% of the rooms to be available by Nov / Dec 2018. That would be for timeshare and hotel units. I am glad the cruise ships came back to help. Wonder what percentage the casa's get the business from, locals, cruise ship passenger / crew or island tourists (IE timeshare / hotel guests).

I am told by my friends there that currently Defiance is the only place that has more than a few girls. Carolinas only 3 girls working. The good news is the owners say they have a large number of fresh arrivals that will be on the island by mid October. This is typical for this time of year and preparing for the busy season by November.

I won't be on the island until Dec 13 so we all look forward to updates from everyone.

I am told by my friends there that currently Defiance is the only place that has more than a few girls. Carolinas only 3 girls working. The good news is the owners say they have a large number of fresh arrivals that will be on the island by mid October. This is typical for this time of year and preparing for the busy season by November.

I won't be on the island until Dec 13 so we all look forward to updates from everyone.

My favorite place to stay. Nice rooms, cheap price, easy access to orient beach (20 minutes), casas, and phillipsburg. Chica friendly, too. The french girls working the front desk are oh la la, too.
