I believe we stay at the same complex in Oyster Pond. Even with the gated parking, there is still access to the property via the 2 pedestrian gates which have no locks. That sucks. Guess it could have been worse, as in they could have stolen the car, or forced him to his room for more cash and valuables. Oyster Pond seems so tranquil, but it proves anything can happen anywhere. Plus the Gendermanes stay at the Columbus Hotel which is right next door. And a permanent resident with dog occupies the ground level unit to the far right in the parking lot. Unbelievable. Maybe there's more to the story and it was somewhat of a setup? Glad you survived the stay unscathed. Based on some of the latest posts, I may pass on SXM for awhile and focus my energy to making it to Campo and getting that off my bucket list!

It was indeed the same complex. I spoke with the landlord and they said security improvements were being looked at. I will see if they follow through when I go there in a couple of weeks. If no significant improvement I will look for safer accommodations. I'd be interested on what you think of Campo compared to SXM.

Decided to head to Orient Beach area this morning and was greeted with a road block put up by protesters on the primary road N7 running along the eastern coast. All I could think of is last year when I stayed in this area and had to travel down to PB. Never going to find on the island.

I am sorry to hear of your friend and the crime, there is no absolute zero. I do follow sxm news and such and found incidence to be relatively low. I am not surprised, however. The island economy is driven by 85+% tourism, so I can see some incidence. I spoke specifically around the clubs and do personally find them safe IMHO. I do take extra precaution and I understand motive. I believe you could carry the same story at any venue.

2nd Night. Stopped by Hypnotique at 8:30 pm. There was at least 10 girls in the bar area and 4-5 in the adjacent room where the girls rooms are. Immediately I was apprehended by Tamara. Same Tamara as mentioned in earlier reports? Describe Tamara as: extremely cute, long black hair to the small of her back, flirty, busty (large Cs to small D), loved to dance, limited English, generally hot. I was more than receptive to her. Bought a couple of drinks. She drank Tequila with lime (2). Barely finished my beer, then went to the room with her. 60 + 5. She was awesome. BBBJ, LFK, MPOS, made me feel really good. Did a massage after an excellent session. Then she asked me about "my home". $250 + $100 (penalty) for a 9:00 pm pickup. Gave me her number. I showed interest. She proceeded to get me excited again. Round 2 followed. She is awesome, really knows how to work the situation. I mentioned take out for Thursday (Tuesday now). BTW, Tamara is going back to Columbia in 5 days. I really believe the new work visa legislation is greatly favorable to the girls vs. The club owners and I see it as positive.

I tell you guys, I see absolutely no decline so far. When I came out of the room 10:00 pm, the # of girls and customers had doubled. All is good, I think we can stop the speculation for now. I was here the same time last year and see no change. Had another drink with Tamara then split to get some food at Mr. Busby's.

I was on the Island a couple of weeks ago. While I was there a guy staying in the same complex that I was at in Oyster Pond was robbed at gunpoint. It happened in the gated parking compound of the complex. He said he had just parked his car and was about to get out when he was rushed by two guys. One guy had his tee shirt over his face and that other guy was wearing a mask. He said they searched his pockets, found some cash then checked the rest of the car for valuables then took off. In all they only got him for about $150. He wasn't hurt bus was quite shaken. It sounded like he had followed advise that has been shared on this form. He did not carry a wallet; only some ID and enough money for a night outing with dinner and a few drinks. He also said he did not have any jewelry or other valuables with him.

I guess the lesson here is to always be aware of your surroundings and be on the alert. Although from the sounds of things I doubt there was much he could of done to avoid the situation in his case.

Regarding safety. When On the island I always rent a car, come alone and go to as many clubs as I can. My thoughts are any safety or caution are all within common sense that you would observe anywhere. Parking close to the club, being respectful, tipping, not flashing $$, past midnight alone, is all to be observed (true anywhere) just makes sense. I have never felt threatened either in or out of the bar. It is a small island and its tough enough for the bars to make $$. Imagine 1 bad report?

Sunday was my first day, weather is beautiful. I am staying at Princess Heights in Oyster Pond / Dawn Beach area. The view is incredible, great place, quiet. On my way in I traveled through the salt pond (dump area) that ends up at Carolina's. There were several cutes out in the afternoon, but didn't stop as I wanted to check in. Just before turning into the hotel there was Casa Blanco (on my right! This would be my first stop tonight.

Early evening around 9:00 a I went in. Saw 5-6 girls in the bar area. Saw a girl I liked with big boobs and went to her right away named Loyda (Quality was good, 7+, and appropriate for the night. There was an 8+ there with nice boobs which I thought was hot. I stayed with my first because she had a good vibe. As mentioned in other reports, girls from DR. I don't know Spanish but had conversations with a few girls and they definitely know enough English to get by and then some. Bought drinks, a little package grabbing, a little ass and boob grab (she encouraged), and off to the room a $50 + $5. Great time. A little BBBJ, covered, then MPOS, sensual. Regarding driving on the island. Lots of hills and curves, do pay attention to that strip of road running north to south toward the clubs. Yes, there are drainage ditches just outside the outer line so pay attention! With that, I am not concerned when I pass through. As I am in Oyster Pond area, I hit this road each time. I would suggest if you are driving and come across, pass a few times during the day and any concerns will be gone.

I will be heading to Hypnotique next probably, I will send in an event based report within 24 hours, probably sooner.

Interesting how this will play out. You would think this is good news for the girls as they can come for shorter periods of time and return to family when needed. Some have a hard time leaving the family for extended periods of time. But they could also come and go in a blink of an eye and the availability of girls at any one time will clearly vary to a much greater degree.

You would think the girls would be flocking to the islands just for the simple reason the peso vs. Dollar is so high. They can make 75% more now than they did just a short year+ ago.

I have had some great times in St. Maarten, though it has been a few years since my last visit. Have tickets booked for May but would probably have passed if I had heard the latest review of how slow the place is. Of course, like Mel, I am spoiled by the source of Colombia, having just returned last month.

Hoping to finally meet the infamous Mel in early May. I pray the most recent report of fewer gals and poor quality is just a short lapse.

Just my 2 cents. I am on the island right now and it seems all the clubs are still pretty packed although I've only gone at night. Last time I was here was 6+ years ago so a lot has changed. Fee seems still the same 50+room fee. There are still a decent amount of girls at the clubs but they are not as "hot" as I recalled. Although there are still some that I would consider 8+. My favorite right now is hypnotic with Carolina a close second. El Captain reminded me of defiance back in the days although much smaller. The night that I was there, quality was lower even though quantity was abundant. I've not stopped by defiance yet but plan to. I guess I just wanted to point out SXM is still a good spot to visit. I do see a lot more Dominicans than in the past.

I had heard from a government official that the Chicas will not have to have a contract to work in a club. They will apply for work on the island and go to whatever club they wish.

The reason for this is that some people would consider having a contract with a club white slavery and the chicas could not leave until their contract is fulfilled.

I have been very disappointed with the quality and quantity of girls this time.

I got the explanation in the fact that SXM government decided not to give work permits aymore to clubs to "import" girls in order to fight [CodeWord908].

I quote todaysxm.com:

"The ministry of justice would not issue any more permits for prostitutes to local brothels. The minister emphasized that the policy is not temporary, but permanent.

Methods are worked out further to come to a better regulated way to have the industry operate, different to how it operated before. ".

Before there was a good turn up with new chicas on a regular basis but right now, there is no renewal and nothing planned for now.

Sorry for the delay in posting, I have been busy the last few months. I was on the island the week before Christmas. I made it to the clubs every day and twice on two days. All in a hooked up with 6 different chicas.

I found that Hypnotic had the better line up this time around. I went to Carolina's four times and there were some nice looking chicas there but they seemed very standoffish. They would stand around talking to other girls or just sit along the wall and didn't initiate contact. This was surprising considering the past times I have been on the island I wouldn't be able to make it to the bar without being molested a few times along the way. My second night on the island I did meet a girl named Sarah at Carolina's and took her back after having a drink at the bar and getting to know each other. I would say she was probably a 7 but I had a lot of fun with her. On the way back when we stopped to pay the cover there was another girl out back and her and Sarah were chatting in Spanish and I was only catching some of the conversation as my Spanish is only so so. Anyway, just before we went to the room the girl pulled out a joke condom that could fit over your whole body and said to Sarah she might need this. I looked at her and in my limited Spanish said its a little small isn't it? They all started laughing and she told Sarah she was in trouble with me, I think getting the laughs helped get things off to a good start.

Although I went back to Carolina's a few more times on my trip I never came across any others that I wanted to take back to her room. I was looking for the girl that others mentioned looked a little like Selena Gomes but didn't see her around.

The rest of the time I spent at Hypnotic. I went there on Sunday, the day I arrived. At first I wasn't too impressed as there didn't seem to be any chicas to my liking and there were only about 4 or 5 around. I was having a beer at the bar when I saw a girl in white in the mirror but by the time I turned she had slipped out the door. A while later I was thinking of leaving when I felt a hand on my shoulder and when I turned around it was the girl in white. The girl turned out to be a Dominican named Patricia (I think). Anyway, after chatting a bit and having a drink I went back to her room with her. She was a lot of fun and made the night worth heading out to the club. I ended up hooking up with Patricia again on Tuesday night and had another good session with her.

Wednesday I was at Hypnotic again and there were more chicas around this time and a few that I would have liked to meet but they were already entertaining others. Eventually a girl named Carla approached. A decent looking ColOmbian. Her English was actually pretty good. I took her back for a try and she was okay. Patricia was better but it is always nice to sample different chicas.

Thursday I didn't have much luck, tried Carolina's and not much there so I headed over to Hypnotic. There were some nice looking chicas but once again they all seemed to be occupied at the time. I had a couple beer to see if any of the girls would free up but nothing was happening so I decided to make it an early night and head back to the hotel and spend a little time at the casino.

Since I didn't have any luck Thursday night I went out on Friday afternoon, usually I go at night. I tried Hypnotic, there were a couple chicas but once again they were occupied so I headed over to Carolina's. Not much going on there and I ended up just talking to a couple other guys who were at the bar while having a beer. Instead of heading home I decided to give Hypnotic one more try. I went to the bar and got a beer and I noticed a girl I had seen at Hypnotic a few times but she never seemed to approach or talk to anyone except other girls in the club. This time around she came over and started talking with me. Her name was Angie and she is from Columbia. Nice looking girl and I decided to go back to her room with her. I had a good time and was glad I gave Hypnotic another chance before calling it a day.

Later Friday night I headed back out and went to Hypnotic. It was the busiest the place was all week. When I approached the bar one of the bartenders saw me come in and got me a beer before waiting on people who were in front of me. As someone else mentioned, treat the bartenders well and they will look after you. I usually tip, nothing big but I take care of them. As it turned out another girl I had my eye on was there but was with someone else so I thought it might be another one of those nights. Well, shortly after the guy left and the girl was finally by herself so I struck up a conversation and bought her a drink. Turns out she was another Dominican and is friends with Patricia. This girl is named Laura and she doesn't mind you hands roaming. Actually she insists as she took my hands and placed them on her everywhere.

I decided to take Laura back to her room and she was definitely a great find. I had a great time with her.

Saturday was my last day on the island as I was heading out Sunday morning so Saturday afternoon I headed back out to the clubs. I walked into Hypnotic and who do I run into as soon as I walk in, Laura. She saw me and came right over. We had a couple of drinks at the bar then headed back to her room. Well it was even better the second time with her. If I would have run into her at the beginning of the week I probably wouldn't have tried to find any other girl. We went back to her room and I am sure we were there for over an hour yet I was only charged for 30 minutes. I gave her a good tip as I had a great time.

On my way out of the club I ran in Patricia in the doorway. She backed me up against the wall and was trying hard to convince me to go back to her room with her. Unfortunately I was done. I originally had planned to go back Saturday night but after the last meeting with Laura I decided to leave it on a high note and just call it a trip.

Overall, there were not as many great looking chicas as usual around but there were definitely some nice ones if you looked.

I'm trying to decide if I want to head down for another week in the sun next week. Unfortunately Laura mentioned she was suppose to be leaving in February. If I knew for sure she was going to be around I would head down just to see her, maybe even do a TLN.
