Brand new to the forum and SXM. I touching down this afternoon and I am staying at Maho Beach hotel. Am I okay to take a taxi over to Carolina / Hypnotic? Will it be easy to catch one back? Any warnings for a new goer to that area?

Rent a car, unless there is a compelling reason not to. A taxi from Maho will be $35-50 each way, more later at night. Between clubs it will be $5-20 or more. A rental car can be had from $30-40.

On the other hand, if you get lost easily or plan to get drunk (not recommended) then a few extra bucks for the convenience and safety (maybe) of a taxi might not be a bad investment.

Thanks for the intel Scubatoo and Barkey. I've not been to SXM in years (back when it was still Seamans) but will be heading there soon so catching up and noticed a lot more talk about Casablanca. Is pricing still the same?

Taxi won't be a problem, unless it's past 2 am and clubs are closing. Usually as you walk out of the bar taxi drivers ask if you need a ride.

Do NOT walk from one club to the other. Yes, it's only a 2-3 min walk through "the bushes" - don't do it. Always use taxi or a rental car.

Mostly DR women, so wear your alpha dog game face and you can have a great time. If I did not already have other things going at the other clubs, I would have spent more time here. The club opens at 6 pm, so my suggestion is go early. Sometimes there is trouble here late at night. Club stays open all night.

Its not my go to place. I prefer the Colombianas at Carolinas or Hypnotique. But. For something different it is worth taking a look at. Maybe not though late at night.

Hey Knoteebouy. Thanks for the report. I was surprised to hear that there were so few chicas in the clubs since I thought there was a pretty good selection.

Now I heard that there was some sort of big party somewhere on the island and many chicas there. Wherever that was. I would have loved to be around for that one. A friend sent me a photo of several girls all dressed up in the back of what looked to be a really nice SUV. They were packed in and apparently on their way to the fiesta.

I think the festivities went on both Wednesday and Thursday nights but is now over. Hopefully things will be back to normal now and you can find the right one for the rest of your visit.

As planned I headed out a bit later on my 2nd night on the rock. Arrived at Carolinas at 8:02 pm. Kidding! Around 9:30 the club was as I remember it. A good selection of both Columbian and Dominican ladies. I tried counting but couldn't get them to stand still long enough. I am guessing maybe 15 or so ladies in the house at any one time.

Angie approached me at the bar shortly after arriving. Reasonably attractive blonde Columbian but all business. Over all it was not as good an experience as I have had in the past. I would not rate things as being bad at this point. I will head out a bit later next time to see if the problem was a timing thing. I may have been over eager being my first night there.

Wheels down at 4 pm. Did booze run then checked into villa. Unpacked, cleaned up then headed out. Arrived at Carolinas around 8 pm. Did a quick head count. Counting me there was a total of one persons in the bar; not counting the 2 bartenders. Ordered a beer and went next door for Chinese dinner. Ordered chicken fried rice. Got shrimp fried rice.
