Is Casa Blanca the place to be now? I recall years ago when I was in SXM, not many went there.

Its not my go to place. I prefer the Colombianas at Carolinas or Hypnotique. But. For something different it is worth taking a look at. Maybe not though late at night.

Now I heard that there was some sort of big party somewhere on the island and many chicas there. Wherever that was. I would have loved to be around for that one. A friend sent me a photo of several girls all dressed up in the back of what looked to be a really nice SUV. They were packed in and apparently on their way to the fiesta.

I think the festivities went on both Wednesday and Thursday nights but is now over. Hopefully things will be back to normal now and you can find the right one for the rest of your visit.

As you will see in my ReCon2 post things seem better at the clubs than on Thursday night. Not sure if it was because of the big party ending or because I was there later in the evening. Either way all seems to be good for the time being.

As planned I headed out a bit later on my 2nd night on the rock. Arrived at Carolinas at 8:02 pm. Kidding! Around 9:30 the club was as I remember it. A good selection of both Columbian and Dominican ladies. I tried counting but couldn't get them to stand still long enough. I am guessing maybe 15 or so ladies in the house at any one time.

Angie approached me at the bar shortly after arriving. Reasonably attractive blonde Columbian but all business. Over all it was not as good an experience as I have had in the past. I would not rate things as being bad at this point. I will head out a bit later next time to see if the problem was a timing thing. I may have been over eager being my first night there.

Wheels down at 4 pm. Did booze run then checked into villa. Unpacked, cleaned up then headed out. Arrived at Carolinas around 8 pm. Did a quick head count. Counting me there was a total of one persons in the bar; not counting the 2 bartenders. Ordered a beer and went next door for Chinese dinner. Ordered chicken fried rice. Got shrimp fried rice. In that case try a place called Bananas. Right near the marina. Santa Marta is divided by the mountains. The better area to stay is the half of the town on the other side of the mountains away from the airport.

The cab ride to this area is 28,000 pesos.

I see. I don't know anyone there but I guess you'll never know anyone in that area if you never go there, right? May sound strange but I actually like lower class joints. Especially if they house hot women, even if there are 6's and 7's I can see myself enjoying the place. I have learned that trying to get the top echelon girls won't always result in good value and the trato may leave you disappointed. You pay top dollar and thus your expectation is a bit higher, but performance of the girls often isn't up to par with the price they are asking. I would much rather go with a low key bar where I can find myself good trato for which I'm willing to pay a fair compensation, plus add a proper propina accordingly.

Unless you know someone in the Santa marta-Rododero area, I would skip Santa Marta. There are a few clubs but low class compared to other towns. However there are many hot chicas in the clubs. The problem is getting them out of the club.

I imagine Santa Marta being nice and close to the coast with good weather, not a big city feel like BOG or MDE and maybe less touristy compared to Barranquilla / Cartagena?

Campo is very hard to miss. If the airport is at your back turn left and drive a mile or so. There is a huge Palm Tree sign on your left. Just drive up that road and Campo is at the end.

Agreed, you can't miss it. However, on your first visit try going during the day while the sun is still up. The leaf that Mel is referring to is not lit at night and you won't see it from the main road. Worst case scenario you should have driven to the Airport hotel and ask a taxi driver to guide you guys to Campo for a modest fee. Going to Curacao and not going to Campo because you couldn't find it is unacceptable.

When you leave the airport take a left. After about a mile the road bends to the right. After the bend take the very first exit to your left, and you'll see Campo's large parking lot on your left.

I like Bogota the best although the weather stinks.
I like Santa Marta also. I have a friend who I met at Carolinas years ago. She lives in Santa Marta.

I went with a group not too long ago and for a few hours broke away and tried to find this place but an hour and a half later could no find it. Went past the airport like 12 times.
