You'll be fine. The casas will be hopping. You've got 8 of them to bounce around to. Rent a car, do the afternoon circuit, and then hit them again in the evening. Some may be dead in the afternoon, specifically Defiance, Casa Blanca, Sunset, but Caroline's, Crystals, El Cap and Hypnotique will keep you busy enough from when they open until the siesta time at 4 pm There will still be quite a few chicas to choose from. And as you say, you'll have the beach to chill out on as well, after being a good caretaker to your family member. Bring a collapsible thermos type bag and a bottle opener with you, and grab a 12 pack of Presidente from a grocery store and enjoy Orient Beach during your down time! Also, check out the 4 pm Happy hour at Sunset Retreat. You may be the only white guy (if you are, sorry for the assumption), but it's perfectly safe and they play great music and you can suck down 2 dollar Presidente's and show off your Latin dance moves with the chicas, if you've got any! LOL!

SXM Interests me very much, based on my readings in this forum. I may try to pull off a quick trip, in early November, because the connections are perfect and I have the miles. But I read the time to visit is during the cruise season; which coincides with the greatest number of chicas visiting for their 6 month tours. When is this time? Seeing as how many of them come from Colombia and DR, would there be many there that close to Christmas? I would think many may not want to start their tours until after that time, so they could be with their families for Christmas. Is this an accurate statement, or is November a good time to find numbers and quality? Plenty of cruise ships seem to be scheduled to port, but I have no idea if this is high or low season. Caring for an elderly family member has me in-need of 4-5 day opportunities as that is about all I can get away for. A veteran of MDE, CR, SE Asia, but looking for something new, on the beach!

Any help would be appreciated.

The slow season is usually when hurricane season rolls in, which is from about May until the end of November. So the high season begins in December and lasts until the end of April. There are quite a few ships in port during the busy season, and the shops also tend to stay open a little later from my experience. I've been in SXM pretty much during all different seasons, and while it seems like the busy season is a great time to come the costs for tickets and for hotels is also reflected. The clubs are more busy, and it does seem like there are more chicas but that also means that you may not get the chica you wanted because she's just so busy. I've seen this with a couple chicas during high season, walk into the club and she's already being talked to and then gets whisked away. Try back later and she's gone for the night. So there are always pros and cons with going during the high season. The island is very busy and traffic can be terrible with traffic to / from the airport. With the low season, you might see a lower number of chicas but you get a little bit more attention and the quality of chicas is still good. Some will say that the hottest girls come during the high season simply because there are more chicas visible during that time, but the low season has good looking chicas as well. They're just not all out in the bar as is normally the case during high season. I have had good experiences no matter how busy or quiet the island is.

Because they have feelings. And perhaps they had an ex-novio back home they miss having unprotected sex with, and in the moments leading up to sex keep thinking about how they would love to have that feeling back rather than repeat their daily routine of pulling out the rubber and have you ram it in her.

Or they really like you. Or they really think you'll give them extra $$. It's not uncommon to be offered this in Latin America, and the reasons can vary. I very rarely see it in Europe, but have come across it several times in SXM, Colombia, DR, and some countries in Asia (Thailand for example).

I appreciate the responses, but as I already mentioned, I declined in both cases, and have no interest in unprotected sex.

A very interesting topic. I believe Club Ted made some great observations and likely there are many, many more reasons unprotected sex might be offered.

During my last visit I had some great times with my novia for the week. After a fantastic day at the beach we returned to my hotel and started what was to be a very long and exciting session. In the heat of the moment she slid up and was just about to take me in. Then, at the same time, we both must had the same thought and she scrambled to find the condom. I recall I was both relieved and disappointed. Little head was just about totally in control at that time and, as I look back, I really don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for that mutual realization that this might not be good.

I understand that these girls can be very good actresses, and myself probably a bit nave, but the events seemed so spontaneous it sure didn't seem like it was planned. Nothing was offered. Nothing was discussed. It just sort of almost happened.

Since several people are talking about it, I too wonder if this is some new trend? What makes the topic even more interesting to me is that I recall about a year ago when I first became aware of the forum the topic of discussion was why do some chicas offer / allow DFK. Now it's beyond that talking about why do some offer unprotected FS.

Even during low season, I enjoyed my time at Carolina, El Capitain, Hypnotique and Bada Bing.

Got to say this caught me off guard. I declined in both cases (just not a line I'm willing to cross yet), but was just wondering if any of the veterans had an insight as to what the thought process was here. These girls have no clue who I am, and I certainly didn't ask for it, so why offer it? Is it a play for a bigger tip?

Guys, read the forum to get educated. Defiance and Casablanca are not the clubs to visit in the afternoon. You will have a few hanging around the bar in the afternoon, but not many. These clubs get started in the evening when all the girls come out. Also, check the cruise ship schedule at www.portofstmaarten.com. If there are no ships in port, chances are most of the clubs will be rather empty in the afternoon. Off season, slow business days the girls go off to the beaches, shopping or errands.

While BBBJ is fairly common on take out, especially if you've got a rapport with the chica, are clean, decent looking, and aren't going to choke the girl to death! LOL! The scenario you speak of has been unheard of by me. Not that it can't happen, but these girls are health conscious, have weekly check-ups, families at home to support (being most of them are single moms), and have been around the block and know the deal, so here's my 2 cents about why it might have been offered to you.

1) Maybe the chica really was into you and the chemistry was such that you gave her the impression there was going to be more of a long term relationship with you either visiting the island often, or her back in Colombia, or maybe even becoming her espouse! Again, only you know how deeply you connected. While these chicas go through tons of guys, maybe you were the knight in shining armor! LOL!

2) What was the level of partying? Were they drunk / high? Lost inhibitions make people do risky things. Again, only you could assess if the chica was drunk or had done coke in your bathroom. And came out flying like a kite.

3) While I've never heard of this, suppose there could always be an entrapment angle. Maybe the chica wanted you to be more than just a papi to her! LOL! And present you with your very own SXM bambino nine months down the road! Then from a health entrapment, maybe the chica had something she wasn't happy about having and wanted to "share the love!

You made the right call by declining. Again, only you were in the best position to make your own call. If you lived on island and had built up a relationship where you were her local boyfriend and were taking her out at night regularly, then I could see where it could be put out on the table as you being her steady novio. Then her time in the club would be purely mechanical and she'd be all yours. Certainly a risky move on the part of the chica (s) and again, something I would say is definitely not the norm.

The 9's and 10's from Carolina's will quote big time numbers to take them out even during their free time, unless again, like you've mentioned and what I've done in the past is to act as a shuttle service and give one or two of them a free ride into P'burg so they can shop, wire money home, or just enjoy their free time. Not to lower my standards, but there are a few decent chicas at times (7's with some good personalities) in Crystals to be had, and then there's always the lonesome / homesick chica that hates the casa scene and is dieing to get away from the environment for a couple of hours, just to reclaim her dignity.

I've never had any luck doing take out from LE Petite or Casa Blanca. Had it out on the table at El Capitan a couple of times, but the chica turned out to be insincere. I've done the siesta time from Defiance, but haven't heard much chatter about the club on the forum as of late. My last visits, I'd stop by in the afternoon and there were no cars. Maybe one or two girls at the bar. I've had great times here in the past but not sure when the club is going to get a jump start.

Sunset Retreat actually has a happy hour in the side bar that kicks off at 4 pm With some great music. I've talked about take-out during this time with a couple of Dominicanas, but seemed like I caught them off guard. If you're skiddish about visiting Sunset at night due to the parking and the walk across the road to the steep stairs, check it out at 4 pm You may find something that will want to make you come back after ten!

Club Ted's points are well taken. I have met some really fun girls at Sunset Retreat and Casablanca, and often have fun times at Defiance. These are further off the beaten path, are mostly Dominican Republic girls and some dark-skinned Colombian girls, and you will see a fair number of locals hanging around. Perhaps a little more Spanish helps at times, but the biggest thing is just adjusting your attitude. The DR girls love the alpha dog. So wear your macho on your sleeve, even if you usually don't. They can be freaks in the room once you tame them! The DR girls are just different looks and body types than many of the Colombian girls. But if you put aside the "I have to have a 10" attitude, and look at a package of looks, personality and talent, you will have some great times with the DR girls. I'm heading back to St. Maarten soon and look forward to playing in all of these clubs, in addition to the usual three. The Colombian girls still make my head spin the most.
