Glad you found El Capitain or El Captain. Since you've found that place, there are three more casas that you can easily find from here. When you leave El Capitain, instead of taking the right to head back toward Philipsburg. Take a left on that main road. Suckergarden Road.

You'll be heading away from Philipsburg and actually on your way to the French border, but you've been to Orient Beach so you may have gone this route already. Heading up the windy hill, you'll see a car wash on your left and quickly on your right will be a driveway with a stone archway. This is the former Club Defiance. Not sure what they call it now, but it doesn't matter since they never had any signage to begin with. This was the former American University Medical School I do believe. Big parking lot and the place opens at 11 am As well. Pretty slow and lazy during the day since no cruise ship passengers venture here. Busy at night with the locals, and some problems in the parking lot can occur. However, you can occasionally find a gem or two during the day and with only one or two guys in the bar, there is no time pressure, so you can have a pretty relaxing time, even do take out for free (no bar fine), just bring her back by either 6 or 8 pm And pay her what she's expecting. Might be able to convince her to rub some suntan lotion on your Johnson so you don't get burned at Orient Beach!

There are two more beyond Defiance. Sunset Retreat and Casa Blanca. But both are fairly dormant during the day. If you are interested, let me know and I'll give more insight to you on how to get there, although they are both on the same road. Right hand side. Close to the French border.

Also somebody asked about LE Petite Chateau, now known as The General. Place is dark inside and has mostly dark Dominicans. If you like junk in the trunk, this is your place. Occasionally a gem, but for the most part, the total opposite of the lineup in Carolinas. When you leave this place, it's like you've been to a movie in the afternoon and walk outside to a brilliant sky! Think there's a bar abutting the parking lot that serves drinks outside, so you don't have to feel your way around the inside of the place. Place gets busy at nights but it's definitely a local crowd. If you're a white guy dressed in vacation garb you will stick out like a sore thumb, however, I never had any problems inside. You just have to park as close to this place as well, since occasionally someone might try to intimidate you if you've parked far from the building and scream tourist. Walk with purpose and always be vigilant of your surroundings.

Last place easily accessible is the site of the original Seaman's club. The mecca for all the old timers like myself on this board! It's called El Captain now. (think LE Petite is now The General). I get confused by all the name changes and remember the casas from my carousing back in the day. The place is on Suckergarden Road, just past Arch Road. Has a high walled parking compound. Believe it opens during the day as well..

I have not been to SXM since the last devastating hurricane, but Orient Beach prior to the destruction, is one of my favorite beaches of the Caribbean. Not sure how much it's come back from the big storm. The water is pristine, there is usually a little breeze and if a passing shower presents itself, it's in and out in less than 10 minutes. The beach has a clothing optional section that is or was home to Club Orient. A nudist resort. There was a bar called the Perch Bar that had midday happy hour and nudists would flock there for cocktails at noon. Mostly couples. The clothing optional part of the beach is open to anyone, but you'll find mostly couples, and the stray single French woman, that quite frankly, is there for the total tan, and nothing else. When the taxis roll in you'll get the cruise ship voyeurs and those that have no business being on a nude beach showing up in droves.

The clothing / family section of the beach, which is basically most of it, used to have beachside restaurants / bars / cafes and water sport rental guys, but again, I'm not sure how much recovery has taken place since Orient got hit hard. I've seen some smoking European girls. Bikini clad on this part of the beach. So it's worth a walk! Just remember to take your wallet and car keys with you if you leave your blanket or lounge chair. There are guys hanging out watching your move and if they see you stray far from your stuff, . Bad shit can happen.

Grand Case Beach, Maho Beach, Cupecoy Beach, and even the beach in Philipsburg are other beaches to check out, although the water isn't the cleanest here because of all the cruise ship and activity in the harbor, but when six cruise ships employ over 10,000 people into town. The beach becomes hopping with some great eye candy at the least!

SXM is easy to navigate. You'll get a lay of the land fairly quickly. Just try to park either in front or on the side of Carolina's, especially at night. If you've been in the service, I'm sure you can handle yourself, but there's always some knucklehead or knuckleheads that think they are king of the world, so just always be on Defcon 5 alert. Also, don't leave anything within site in the rental car. Even if it's a beach bag with nothing valuable. Someone looking in from the outside doesn't know that and smash and grab happens more than you might think.

For the senior members. I was thinking about this today and how technological progress has come such a long way! Do you guys remember the phone booth across from Carolina's back in the day, and the little communications shack that the Colombianas used to access to make contact with family back home? It had a few phones and then a couple of computers for internet access. Also, there was a mini boutique that sold sexy clothes across the street as well! Now all the chicas are attached at the hip with their cell phones! Dam, I miss the old days. And the 2 dollar beers! LOL!

If you are new to St Marten--Rent a Car and drive over to Carolinas. I would not recommend walking. There are enough quality chicas there to keep you busy for more than a week.

Many are coming back about the time you arrive from Christmas in Colombia. In addition it is officially High season for tourists.

Forget non pros at orient beach-- or for that matter forget the French Side- there is nothing going on there except for a few PRIVATE clubs. Dinner cost more at orient beach than sex at any of the clubs.

If you like the beach it is a nice spot.

Be patient when you arrive at a club--many very hot chicas are in the back working-- don't think with the small head.
