Before embarking on a TLN the 5 W's must first be addressed.

Who? What? When? Where? Why?

Step 1:"Who?"

It would be a good idea (although a little time consuming) to tour each club individually to draft the right girl(s). Doing this between 10A-12P is safe, but may not guarantee that she's working that evening. We started at 8:00PM.
Select a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round draft pick. Getting all 4 girls from the same club simplified the process, but we could have likely done 2 and 2.

Step 2: "What?"

Make your intentions perfectly clear. A TLN for one guy is self-explanatory. TLNs for multiple girls would lead to the assumption that each guy has a different room. TLNs for multiple girls in a 2/3/4 bedroom suite is still a safe assumption. But TLNs that swap rooms every 1 1/2 hours in 2 adjoining 2-bedroom suites is tricky. We made our intentions relatively clear at the club, and they likely thought we were kidding. We grabbed a bottle of KettleOne and some Cranberry Juice on the way to the Suite, and had at least 2 drinks in each of them before we got to the (secluded, quiet) suite. We listened to some Reggaeton, talked, laughed and got drinks #3, 4 in them and jokingly offered a $30 propina (tip) for each additional room visited. When I pulled out the wallet, and dropped 3 bills on each of them, they pretty much figured out that we were NOT kidding. For those keeping track: $200 each + 3 swaps at $30 each = $290 each. (plus a $10 bonus)

Step 3: "When?"

A nooner until 9:00AM the next day will cost alot, and may be ideally suited for lonely, lonely single guys who have never spent a day lugging a girl around. Add Lunch, Dinner and gifts to the tab my friends $$$.

Early evening 8:00PM until 9:00AM the next day would run from the $250s up.
This option might be good for Day 1 of a multiple day visit to knock the rust off.
Late Evening 2:00AM until 9:00AM did the trick for us. We drank like fish and went on a recruiting spree all night long.

This option is good to negotiate the lowest possible cost. They pretty much already made their money for the night, this is a BONUS.

Step 4: "Where?"

Most hotels frown on bringing "new friends" into the hotel. 4 and 5 star hotels do not want other guests seeing a bunch a guys lugging in their newly acquired acquaintanaces into the facility. Some prohibit it completely, some make you pay more for the new guests, and others don't care. I did the research and chose 2 adjoining 2 bedroom suites at MBBPH. I used the acronym on purpose, but most of you will figure it out quick. Do the research.

Step 5: "Why?"

Do I really need to explain why?

All in all we dropped $1200 ($200 TLN, $90 for 3 swaps, $10 bonus) x 4

We dropped them off at around 9:30AM, went straight back to the suite and crashed until almost 6PM, we only hit the Casinos that night. I'm still a little dehydrated and my back hurts alot, I honestly think I have a herneated disk. Tylenol helps, but alcohol works better.

I noticed yesterday that there were no cruise ships in the Phillipsburg harbor,
and only one cruise ship on several recent days. In April there were many days with 3 or 4 cruise ships and the brothels were packed during the day time.

I think that it is now the end of the busy tourist season (Nov-Apr). Few cruise ships and fewer visitors at the hotels and resorts.

Most of the girls that arrived from Columbia in Feb are now gone (they are on 3 month visas) and I wonder about their replacement. I would expect the brothels to cut back on the number of girls they import during the off season, as they won't have as many tourist and cruise ship crew as customers. But when I started visiting the brothels last september (the most dead month for visitors, due to it being the peak of hurricane season) there seemed like a lot of girls at the clubs, most not very busy.

I will keep an eye on the quantity and quality of summer chicas and report here what I discover.

Thanks a lot Rack Addict for your report, can't wait for your TLN report too. Sorry to hear you also you had some bad experience. However I think it was most unlikely that those guys were planning to attack a group of four men, epecially if you tell me that you were a former marine. And at least not inside the brothel. There are easier targets. The guys could have been pickpockets however.

Security issues in brothels and in Sint Maarten have allready been discussed before. Security feeling are very personal feeling, so everybody will experience it in a different way, as everybody will compare it to his own situation at home.

However the chica gave the exact answer. Inside the brothels it's 100% safe day and night. I know more or less some of the owners of these brothels, and believe me, they will let nobody from Sint Maarten mess up their business.

The parking lots of Seamens and Defiance are secluded and safe day and night. Carolina is a very discrete brothel as well as the parking lot, day and night. The parking lots from Petit Chateau and especially Sunset Retreat on the other side of the road are not secured, no problem by day, but things may happen by night (like the chica said). I have mixed feelings about the Casa Blanca parking lot by night, but no problem by day of course.

For the rest of Sint Maarten, I will put apart the internal crime and especially the one involving drugdealing. Sint Maarten is safe for tourists. I stick to my opinion. Crime against tourism is seldom, and the few times it happen, you will hear from it in the local news. It's nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands of tourists that visit each year Sint Maarten without any problem.

I have always lived everywhere around the world and being part of a white minority. But I can understand that some people coming from the US feel unconfortable when they are in a black neighbourhood. I realized this when somebody mentioned about bad guys haging around the parking lot in Seamen's. In fact those guys are there every night. They indeed have a "Bronx" look, but they are just the taxi drivers waiting for customers. Also inside the brothels there are lots of locals, especially by night. But believe me, they are more interested in the chicas then about you. I have never experienced any agressive attitude from a local in a brothel. Have a relaxed attitude, say hello when entering, make a small joke with one of them, and he will most probably offer you a beer. Relax, you are in the Caribbean!

Of course like everywhere in the world, usual precautions need to be taken. I have never had any problem even in some of the most dangerous countries in the world. I have been robbed only once, it was in one of the safest coutry in the world, simply because I forgot my usual precautions.

And if security is a major concern, try all the brothels by day. By night, stick to the safest only, Seamens and Carolina.

OK, Where do I strart? Well let's start with the 3 Strip Clubs (and nothing more than stripping)
The Platinum Room - Elite touristy club near the Maho Bay Beach Resort, 8s, 9s and 10s, but "untouchable".
Golden Eyes - touristy club above Rick's Restaurant on the strip near the airport, much like a cheesy U.S. Strip Club.
Player's Club - touristy club and last buiding on the strip leading away from the airport, another Cheese Factory.
Since we weren't here very long we chose not to waste time at these clubs.

*** Brothels good for nooners (10AM until 12PM) but not recommended for evening visits due to heavy local population and wannabe hoodlums.

Le Petite Chateau - dark dive, few girls, the locals threw rocks at my rental car as I was driving by at night. Located on a very rocky salt flat in the middle of Great Bay Salt Pond, north of Philipsburg and the University of St. Martin.
Crystal Club - absolute waste of time (across the street from Carolina's)
Carolina's - Good selection for a nooner, at night there is heavy local traffic, 8-10 hispanic girls, 5s, 6s, and a couple of 7s.

*** Elite Clubs good for nooners, evenings and TLNs (todo la noches - all nighters)

The Seaman's Club - 10 to 15 girls, 7s, 8s and a couple of 9s. The only airconditioned club we found. $50, rooms in a separate, but very close building just behind the club. TLN was $260 at 8:30PM, but we came back just before closing (2:00AM) and talked 4 girls down to $200 each.

Defiance Hotel - 10 to 15+ girls, 6s, 7s, and a couple of 8s. No A/C, you will sweat heavily dispite the fans. $45, rooms located behind the stage area. TLNs were $300 and non-negotiable; they must've thought we were loaded.

*** Decent Clubs good for nooners, evening and TLNs.

Casa Blanca - 20 to 30 Dominican girls, 5s, 6s, and a few 7s. No A/C, $45 for 25 minutes, $90 for 50 minutes, rooms are downstairs, in a prison-like area, you slip the money to a cashier through a small hole in a flexglass booth and the cashier hands the chica a key to open the steel-gated door - creepy.

Sunset Retreat - the first night we saw heavy local traffic, people hanging out in the parking lot and we just drove by. The second night we thought "Screw it, we're going anyway." Being a former Marine, I immediately went into recon mode and here were my observations.
Upon arrival, 4 locals that were getting into a car to leave, saw us and hesitated. The reverse lights went on to back up, then imediately off, and they just sat there. We exited our rental, and all four of us walked up the stone steps to the club. The club was actually quite decent, a group of girls quickly huddled together and paired up with all four of us. I managed to attract an 8. Moments later, the four locals from the parking lot entered the club again and each sat in a chair directly (10-15 feet) behind each one of us. For a second, I thought it was a coincidence, but then I saw two of them using hand signals to point out which one they were going to take out.
I immediately (and quietly) informed my friends, but one was already on the way to a room with a gorgeous 8 of his own. So the 3 of us stayed at the bar and waited for him to finish. I non-chalantly watched the door to the rooms to ensure no unaccompanied men went in, and the other two kept watch for a any unexpected movements and/or reaching in pockets from the 4 idiots behind us. We were ready, but not overly obvious. My chica noticed that I was not happy. She asked what was wrong. I told her (en Espanol) that I felt uneasy about others here, and asked if this place was "peligroso" dangerous. She said not in the club, but outside the club things happen. My friend finished, we grouped up and departed together without incident. In all likelihood, since we made it perfectly clear we knew what they were up to, we may have turned a "gimme" into a confrontation they didn't particularly want to engage in.

Just today I found out that recently, in St. Maarten, a gay tourist was bludgened with a tire iron to within an inch of his life and has permanent brain damage. Of course that doesn't particularly have anything to do with our situation, but the point is... violence exists.

Guys, be aware, don't get too drunk that you can't pay attention and don't look like you have much money. Flashing a wad of hundreds to pay for a $2 Presidente is asking for it.

Tomorrow I will report on our 4 on 4, interchangeable Todo la Noche.
Note: TLNs are not good for closely supervised hotels, hotels with 24-hour lobbies, or accomodations that charge extra for additional guests.

This is the frist time I have ever seen a chica by acident outside of the brothel.

It happened to me several times, especially in Pillipsburg before 11am, when the chicas are allowed to exit the club without fee. In fact, each time I see a pretty young unknown latina walking along the road in the morning, I stop to offer her a ride. Outside the brothels the girls don't have the same attitude. They keep a low profile, are very polite, sometimes even shy, as I act also different outside the brothels. This is carnival week. Yesterday, girls at Carolina and Seamans told me that business has been very slow (since many potential customers are partying at carnival events). Carolina and around the salt pond. on your map, Cats is about where the little black symbol that looks like an "S" is located.

Also for your map, Golden Eyes strip club is located on the road to the airport, at the point where the land between the lagoon and the sea is the narrowest on your map. For findng Golden Eyes, it is on the right side of the road, just past the drawbridge that lets boats into the lagoon.

If anyone could post (as complete as possible) a list of all brothels on the Dutch-side of the island it would certainly assist in streamlining my efforts as I and 4 other Latin men prepare for a 4-day Bachelor Party Extravaganza weekend in St. Maarten. We told the wives we're going Bone Fishing, which isn't a "complete" lie. I've already scoured the forums and have a map with 7 spots on it, and 5 images of some of the clubs. In return for the info, (when I get back) I will post an updated map of every location we hit and pictures of each establishment. Thanks in advance.

I'll also post ratings, now (mind you) I live in a city where 10's fall off of trees - literally, and on South Beach there are more models per square inch than anywhere else on the planet, but I'll try to remain realistic.

I had spent several weeks alone in several « sex prisons » (just check one of my reports in the Saint Vincent thread). DEFIANCE: Similar to le Petit Chateau as they are sister clubs. Both sell Viagra at the bar, but pills are not sealed, so I will not recommend it.

SUNSET RETREAT: Action only during the evening, so I didn’t checked it. Usually selection is poor.

CRISTAL: Even if it is at 10m opposite Carolina, I don’t bother anymore to have a look inside, as there are usually just a few uninteresting girls.

CASABLANCA: I don’t bother anymore to drive till Casablanca, I have never liked that Club, even if it is the biggest with over 30 Dominicanas in the evening. Atmosphere is much more aggressive, and I don’t like the attitude of the girls.

SEAMENS CLUB: about 25 Colombianas in the 5-7 range. Atmosphere is always excellent as usual. Nice music, a lot of interaction with the chicas, and friendly customers from mixed origin. I discussed with a few seamen to compare our info about action in the Caribbean.

CAROLINA: About 25 girls all in the 8-7 range with even a few 8+. They select definitely only the better looking girls. Girls have all excellent attitude, as their working conditions are the best of all brothels. Facilities are the best by far, nice clean rooms with AC and private bathroom. The bar, restaurant and hotel lobby have TV available with South American channels. There is even a beauty parlor. Girls are allowed to exit the Club in the morning till 11am as well as between 4pm and 6pm without exit fee. The brothel has even hotel rooms for the customers at 50$/night. One year ago, this Club was hardly known and there were few customers. It is now by far the best Club of Sint Maarten. The positive reviews on ISG since one year have probably something to do with it. Anyway, Carolina deserves it.

Needless to say, I decided to stay in Carolina. As soon as I was at the bar, a chica came to me, Alejandra room 13. She smiled and had a very nice face. Usually I get rid of the girls coming to me as they are mostly the ugly barracudas that need to be active to get a chance to catch a customer. st maarten is not terribly expensive. rooms range from 35 Euros a night in a simple french hotel in concordia neighborhood of marigot to $450 a night at La Samanna (one of the most prestigous hotels). Mid-price tourist hotels range from $100 to $200 a night. Compared to nearby Anguilla and St Barts, this is a bargain. Compared to Domincan Republic, it may seem expensive. One night I was unexpectedly stuck in St maarten and found a room at the Great Bay Casino and Hotel in Phillipsburg (big tourist hotel on the beach) for $83/nt.

Restaurant prices on the french side are very reasonable - Tropicana in Marina Royale of Marigot is one of the best - lunch special is around 12 euros. Lots of good mid-priced restaurants such as Saint-Severin in Bellevue, where local french people eat (even french truck drivers demand good food). I have not found any restaurants on the dutch side that I can really recommend for good food (although there must be some!) - think us-style vacation food.

People in the neighboring islands all come to st maarten to shop - prices are lower than in anguilla, st barts, saba or statia, due to larger businesses with bigger volumes.

Beers at the brothels are only $2, versus $1.50 at other local places and up to $4 at tourist places.
