I don'tknow where you are coming from.

However head towards Phillipsburg.

Drive along the salt pond with phillipsburg on the other side of the road.

When you get to the traffic circle with statues of salt pickers on it head away from Philipsburg in the circle toards the big satellite antenna.

Drive down that road past the carnival center and contimue down about a mile.

After a forested swamp area there is a youth center on your right. Next to that is a nondescript building with a lot of cars around it.

On the right of the building as you face it is a Chinese restaurant with access inside to Carolinas, to the left of the Chinese restaurant is a hallway, the main entrance to Carolinas. Across the street is Crystals. There are usually a few folks hanging around the front. Just say Hi and move on. They are harmless.

If you come to a cross street, Arch road you went 300 feet too far.

I spent the second day cruising the island on the scooter, stopping for photos, coffees, and taking in the general vibe.

If you want great healthy food and to practice flirting with local girls, I recommend Gigi's Organic cafe.

The island has a really nice and easy vibe, and it seems cheaper all round than Jamaica (reports from there coming soon).

OK more nightlife.

Crystals.

I returned to Crystals with clear intentions on getting down with the Dominican honey who I had earmarked the night before.

My favourite place on the island. Arrived around 2:00 am and the place was fairly well packed with scantily clad honeys, including a black lady (finally) who may have been local or from another island. Sadly she was occupied. Plenty of others to talk to. Spotted a hot blonde Colombian with a huge fake rack motioned her over for a chat. She was friendly, outgoing, had a great sexual vibe.

Okay my dive buddy and I were in SXM (and Saba) scuba diving last week and had only one night available to tour the SXM bars. It was a Monday night and we decided to start at the north section at Casa Blanca and work our way down.

Casa Blanca.

We got there about 9:15 pm and I think our car was the only one there. Two local guys just sitting outside. When we went inside, it was a pretty decent size but was totally dead except for one guy I assume was the owner or bartender and one Dominican girl who came out. She wasn't bad looking but otherwise the place was dead. So we left.

Sunset.

There were several cars parked on the laneway which was a good sign. We were not sure which was the official main entrance since there were no signs at the side of the yellow building but we did hear music inside. We decided to open one of the doors which led us to this interior space which seemed like a storage area with laundry machine but stairs led to another entrance where guys were. We went inside and there were a several local guys and a few chunky Dominican girls in a pretty small bar. It was certainly a weird overall setup but we were definitely not impressed so onto the next bar.

Defiance.

Much like with Casa Blanca, there were hardly any cars there even though we read here that tonight was suppose to be grand re-opening. We went inside and the place does look pretty good as they must have done some decent renovations. But again, only one staff guy was there and this time, no girls at all. We asked him about it and he said although it was opening night, the girls are actually not scheduled to arrive until the next night. So much for a grand re-opening. But the place does have potential just based on the renovations.

Seamans.

The gate to the Seamans area was closed up so we could not drive in.

El Capitan.

A few cars in the parking lot and when we went inside, there was one girl standing and one sitting at the bar -- that was about it. Otherwise the place was pretty dead too. Next bar.

Petite Chateau.

We decided to drive past Carolina's and Crystal just to take a quick look at Petite Chateau knowing that it would likely be a quick look in and move on. We actually had trouble finding it as we could not find any sign on a building. But we finally settled on what looked like the building from previous photos posted here but the main Petite Chateau sign was definitely gone. There were picnic tables in the front a bar like setup inside so we figured it was the right place. After moving through an interior room to another one which was the bar, there were only maybe 2-3 people inside who looked like bartenders but no other working girls.

Crystal.

It was about 9:45 pm by now. We parked at Carolina's and walked across the street to Crystal. Inside there were some locals and a few girls but none really caught our eye. This was played music way too loud as previously reported and was not exactly hopping so we left for our final bar.

Carolina's.

This place was smaller than I expected but at least there was a scene happening there. A few older customers at the bar area and some Filipino cruiseship staff sitting in the couch area. Several Colombian girls standing around, most were a bit chunky but not fat, ie. ,big latino butts with maybe three that were considered slim, more my type. Most of the girls did not really work the room well but instead stood along the walls in groups near the restaurant.

This led to a another area where there was a desk staffed with local women in charge of taking $5 for a room fee. Then Vivian led me through a maze of hallways painted red to a room.

For me personally, I would not return to SXM unless it was for diving again since we did enjoy that part of our trip. Out of default, I would spend more nights at these bars since I don't find there's much to do at nights as I'm not into casinos or dance clubs. I would certainly not come to SXM just for the monger scene but that's just me. Maybe SXM would work better for others.
