Hello everybody,

I am going to tetovo in august and i will stay ther for at least three months.

I would like to know if somebody could give me some information about the opportunities there.

Where to go for girls, prices etc. If anybody has experiences, please share infos with me. I ope this town won't be boring.

Regarding our hobby: (info is from locals I spoke to about this)

Because of many police crackdowns, Skopje has become a difficult place for this.

Best chance is taxi drivers or your hotel guys, but expect to pay EUR 100 at least per hour.

This is really crazay compared to the average income level of about EUR 280 a month!

Most action seems to have moved to Tetovo and in summer to the famous lake Orchid.

Women look sexy when going out sometimes (like in Hard Rock Cafe), but do not underestimate how conservative they are. They are not happy to speak to foreigners in general because of social control. But this changes a lot when they have a good excuse to talk to you, because they are a waitress, hotel staff or doing business with U.

You will not have a language problem, most people speak english quite well and are proud of it. Actually the best of all the Eastern European countries I have visited (almost all).

I know this is not a travel forum, but since it is really very difficult to find any pratical info about Skopje, (almost no travel guides available) I decided to help a little.

Hotels: Holiday Inn, Stonebridge and Best Western Turist are all ocated very well. Holiday Inn is best, but still don't expect anything special.

Bars cafe's and restaurants: many along the river starting at the Holiday Inn. Download the free guide from the internet at www.inyourpocket.com It has good info.

Best advice: there is a nice place that is not mentioned in any of the sites, I don; t know why. It is called The Hard Rock Cafe (not part of the chain). It is a club in the city center (10 min walk from the old stone bridge). Do not go there before 23. 00 hrs.

The nicest place to stay as a foreigner is the Irish Pub, close to the Holiday Inn along the river. Do not expect to have a very exciting time in Skopje, but it is a nice place and people are very friendly.

Skopje is not a small city it has about 1,000,000 people living.

Skopje has lots of action from dawn to dawn also Ohrid and Bitola but do not forget Strumica where there are 3 to 1: girls - boys.

Action you can find behind the Macedonian public broadcast building on the river of Vardar.

There are lots of girls but take care to take a good look at them as some are hooked on drugs.

Prices to take them in the hotel including room are 2000 denars = 32 euro

For a guide into tetovo is not dangerous just let people know where you go but the risk is too small that people will cheat you!

Ohris is in summer a big party with lots of strip clubs there where you can pickup girls as many as you like but the prices are from 100 to 150 euro hour.

But there are lots of student girls and thery charge around 40 euro to 100 euro the whole night!

BTW Skopje has been anouced as the most safe city in Europe by Proxima mission (Europian police mission)

So please no more stories about a risky country please!

I was in Skopje last month, picking up girls in local disco clubs should not be a problem if you are accompanied with locals. Skopje is a small town and girls are not very relaxed to get into longer contacts with strangers, however if you are with someone local, you will be treated as a local too, therefore you will not have any problems. You will find a vibrant crowd in a disco Zen, close to Gradsky Trgowsky Center, getting in contact is not a problem, people are friendly. Other good places include disco Process, club Duomo, or numerous bars in the park, in front of the City Stadium (summertime only). For these reasons, I did not have the need to check the pro scene... Good luck to anyone coming to this friendly city.

Guys lets be real, Skopje and Macedonia is very safe! I am here since 1987 and nothing ever happened to me!

People are very friendly and very western focused, they love strangers! Beutiful girls with NATURAL big breast and nice behinds!

Its very easy to pick up girls, well no pro's and to get a free night with them!

Skopje is a place were many student girls live and also for a little money you can find them.

Just be afraid for the Albanian punks the will take your money but don't deliver!

Skopje is nice. Find the US embassy opposite that is the park...where all come to party in the summertime. In the park there are two hotels will run you about 50 euro a night. Better than the Hilton in the center of the town or the Alexander Palace. The bus is the best way to get to Sofia, but I do have a buddy there who would take you all the way to Sofia, and set up the hotel for you as well. In my next report I will give his name so you can contact him, and he will take care of the rest. If you are looking for some beauties to have fun with I will also give the name of a taxi driver who has some of the best looking women in Skopje.

Thanks for the info, its just unfortunate that I left Skopje about a week ago. The taxi driver would have been very handy as there are some hot looking women there, even more so than in Sofia - and that is saying something! I ended up staying at the centrally located Jadran which was quite reasonable for 40 euros a night.

I agree with Aurix. I have lived in the Balkins for the past ten years and Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo may seem to be a nice enviorment during the day at night time these enviorments change. There also seems to be an increase on police crackdown on clubs. When I need to find some action I always try to get out of the Balkins where I am releatively secure in knowing that I will not be rip off or beaten.

Very wise. Keep in mind that Macedonia (as well as Serbia, Montenegro and Albania) are still dangerous places. This does not mean that you should not visit them or should be afriad to walk in the streets, but as soon as the local people start to act in a strange way it is better leave the place.
