Can't get much closer to action if you stay in Soi 6 (Queen Victoria Inn). It allows easy access to other areas also.

Hotel Advice for First Time Visitor

Pattaya is MUCH smaller than you think. You will be "close to the action" staying at ANY hotel that is:

SOUTH of Pattaya North Road, aka Pattaya Nua Road.

    WEST of Soi Buakaow.

NORTH of Pattaya South Road, aka Pattaya Thai.

There are also hotels located in the Walking Street complex itself.

Secrets is more like a guesthouse, incorporated as it is into the same area as the bar and nightclub. It's smack dab in the middle of the Walking Street complex. My major objection to staying on Walking Street is the noise. Unless you party until dawn every night it's going to be a concern. Even if that's not an issue for you, there is more to being "close to the action" than meets the eye. Don't forget that Walking Street is only one of several locales that cater to Naughty Boys. There is also Soi 6 plus Soi LK Metro and the surrounding areas. Moreover, Walking Street has ever-more "civilian" traffic, and I find it a little off-putting to stay someplace where tour groups are constantly trudging by. Again, as the Thais like to say: Up To You.

My recommendation would be to fire up Agoda.com and use the function that displays hotel on a map. You can easily get an idea of what lodging is available in what locations at what price.

Ehmm. Thank you for the auspicious expectations. Now beside that teens are not my taste, post (if you can) some authoritative source to prove your point about age of consent in Thailand.

    #Thailand.

However, to work in an establishment where alcohol is served, the minimum age is 20. And, of course any hotel can set whatever policy they wanted.

Take a look at the Swiss Hotel / Guesthouse. It's a small place at the south end of Walking Street.

    Need Walking Street Quality Hotel

Hey team. Want a place within 5 minute walk of WS. Need some " Quality". A / C, WiFi, Refrigerator, breakfast, Girl Friendly (small fee OK)

I have ruled out WHITE INN. Too basic and RED BALCONY. Seem flaky about deposits and communications.

    April suites Pattaya

    april suites pattaya.

just back home after spending 3 weeks in thailand

found this hotel on line booked a standard room for two weeks

who says you need to pay top dollar for top quality.

    this hotel is fab

    newly built

    cheap price 1400bht per night.

    free wi fi.

two laptops downstairs (though speed could be a bit slow at times)

swimming pool / small sauna and gym on top floor.

    nice friendly staff.

its on second road soi 6/1 about 5/10 min walk from the main action of soi 7/8 etc.

you need to walk down a narrow slum alley to get to it but trust me guys this place is good

booking in advance on line is cheaper me and my buddies liked it so much we stayed another

week but they did charge us a slightly higher room rate i think it was an extra 250/300 bhts but still can't complain.

this is my third visit to pattaya and even though the quality was down on previous visits still had a fab time.

just need to get time and write down ma tales of a adventure and sin.

    Sea Me Spring Hotel

Please be aware that a new hotel is being built directly in front of this hotel, they are currently working on the foundations, when it is finished the sea view rooms will be pretty pointless.

    Areca Lodge

I stayed recently at the Areca Lodge. The hotel is quite good though a bit dated. I loved the pools especially the squared one at the Corona building.

The rooms come with a decent breakfast but only available until 10 am and this is a problem is you like freelances at discos like me. The area of Pattaya the hotel is in, is perfect: many bars in Soi Diana and Soi Buakao. A few meters you find Soi Lk metro with a great atmosphere, lots of go go bars, naughty massages and eateries. I just went to Walking Street for the discos. There are plenty of thins to do in this area. A few hundreds meters away you are in Soi Honey with. In my opinion- the best soapie in Pattaya. In spite of the many attractions in the area, live bands, beer bars, karaokes and so on, if your rooms overlooks the back part of the hotel there is not noise to be heard. BUT When I was there in mid February A HUGE CONSTUCTION SITE was under way. They, re starting to build something large (hotel probably) and I suppose it's going to be a permanent source of noise. To be honest while I was there, the stopped in the evening, but they began operating the machinery at 8 in the morning, and while in the pool noises could be heard.

When I checked in I was told not to bring "friends " under 20. All in all a nice hotel, let's see how the construction issue evolves ¿ can somebody staying there now update with the situation?

    SIM cards

On the SIM-card subject: I get my SIM from 7-eleven for B50 (1, 2-call). It comes with B15 "free calls", which isn't much.

Check your balance and keep checking your balance: After a while they offer a deal. 200 mins for B150 valid for 20 days.

I always take that deal. Done so on 5 or 6 trips now. It's the best deal out there I figure.

If you have to use pay phones, always dial 1, 2, 3, 4 before the entire number, including the zero, on land lines or cell, to get a massive instant discount.
