Camelot hotel, stayed there last week.

    Baywalk residence

Great hotel, perfect location, just a short walk to WS. Nice rooftop pool, average breakfast buffet (I'd recommend not paying for it and grabbing your own). Sadly I'll never stay here again, all of my buddies including myself had trouble connecting to the WiFi. And you can tell the guy in charge of helping you get connected is being run ragged from room to room. I have free data on my plan so it's not a big deal for me. Until I try to chat with my friends in the other rooms. Book the baywalk at your own risk.

    Anyone ever use hotwire?

    Hi,

Is it a roll of dice getting girl friendly room w no fee? Are most places non fee? I'd like a Bayview room walking distance to walking street. Anyone stay at either Amari hotel? I know its not walking distance but rooms look sweet and great price.

The hotel is a you shape, and every room I have been in faces the interior of the you where the view is of the rooms on the other side, plus you get little sunlight coming in. But if you are out all night, this is all a good thing as it is easier to sleep in a dark room.

But yes, a good place to stay for being relatively cheap.
Hi Hawk. Thanks for the info will go ahead and book.

    Cheers Del.

The location is great on Soi 13, halfway between 2nd Road and Beach Road and close enough for me to walk to places that took my interest or to hop on a baht-bus for those a bit further afield.

It was quiet and the rooms were OK. But the noise coming from Hooters now is just too much in the rooms at the back overlooking the pool and Hooters itself.

Extreme bass seems to be the current favorite, moves the earth and not in a good way. Stayed early December 2016.
I have stayed there the last few times. True, an upper, ocean facing view will provide the full onslaught of Hooter's booming disco from maybe 7/8 pm until 2 am. However, unless you nap up until the time WS starts to wake up, or go to bed before WS starts to die down, it is not a concern. Staying on a lower floor is not much of a problem.

I have, thus far, only stayed here or at the nearby Dynasty. Dynasty is a bit cheaper for a room that really isn't much different. The room is painted white so it is cheerier than the Dynasty, but if you use a laptop for surfing or writing, they have no writing desk or chair with a back. You use the side table and effectively have to sit on a stool. The Dynasty has a proper writing table and chair. That is important to me as I spend a few hours each day documenting my experiences for your all's reading pleasure.

I stayed there few weeks back. Definitely not as per his budget requirement, it would cost at least 2000 bahts / night if booking very early.

    But undoubtedly a great hotel.

1 - Not a good choice to stay near Soi 6, it's too crowded except morning hours. Best place is to cross the Second road and stay somewhere walk-able from Soi 6.

2 - It'd be real hard to get a nice hotel in this budget. Search for "Premier Inn" which is not so far from Soi 6. Apart from there are some properties which aren't listed online but can go and make the booking on demand. May be you can book a nice hotel for a day or two and after reaching there can roam around to find a nice place as per your budget near Soi 6.
