The hotel was okay, with a plasma TV in the room, a small, but well-equipped bathroom and a decent king size bed. However, it's deteriorated somewhat since I stayed there about a year ago.

Last night, through expedia.com, I booked a room at the Amari Garden Resort & Towers, a five start hotel on the beach in N. Pattaya. The quoted rate from the hotel was B5,000, but I got it for $68 plus $12 in taxes. Though I booked a standard room, I was immediately upgraded to a small suite, and it's beautiful, with teakwood furnishings throughout, a small balcony overlooking the pool and a slice of ocean view. Breakfast is included, but not the Internet. The quote price of the Internet in the room is about $20 a day, which was quickly bargained down to $6. This is a true 5 star and may not be what everyone is looking for, but for those who want some luxury, it's outstanding.

    Goodenough,

We too are looking to stay at this hotel. Is it GF friendly? If not, any idea about the daily additional charges we can expect?

Also, how did you manage to get the room price down? Did you call Expedia up direct?

Would be good to hear from you, as the place we usually stay at in PAT, the Royal Orchid in N PAT, has fallen down in our estimations recently.

Since I want stay 24 night, it might be a good choice. Do one know about the name of that Condo /Hotel? It's a high rise building.
    Dg69,

The location you are interested on above is View Talay 6- Pattaya Beach Condominium, Second Road. Pattaya, Moo 10, Nongprue, Banglamung, ChonBuri 20150 E-mail vitsixatyahoo.com Web: www.Vt6.com. Summary. Location is right next to Central Festival, between Soi 9 / 11.

When it comes to rental the women you want to speak to is Mariane, her number is 082-2562595. For the month of May and June the price is the same. Based on your 24 day stay it would cheaper if you rent for the whole month which based on the conversation there are Condos for rent. The price range quoted was 27,000 / 25,000 / 22,000 / 20,000 priice is dependent on which side of the Condo is located and size and anmenities. The cheapest which is 20, 000 rounds out to something like 666 baht per night for a Studio.

Some do not have Wi-Fi. Rooms are cleaned daily!

There is also a small Hotel, on Soi 11, Called Baan Salay, has a special for 999 right now and a monthly rate of 18, 000 per month. Across from the Nartical Inn.

    Good luck,

    LBM

diana inn might be a good place. located on he second road very close to much of the action. this is one of the older hotels in pattaya but, still a very good place to stay. the staff are very friendly and the hotel is very clean. they do a great buffet breakfast. many people, that don't even stay there, turn up for the breakfast. you can walk to pattaya beach in 5 minutes. many people prefer jomtien beach. you would need to take a taxi there. this is very easy and the journey will only take about 15 minutes at most. if you come out of this hotel, turn left and then left very quickly again you will be in soi diana. there are many bars in this area. if you walk for 2 minutes you will find mega break on the right. keep walking for another 2 minutes and you will find soi metro. the first place you might spot, a few doors down on the left, is champagne go-go. i was there a few nights ago for happy hour. heineken beer 65 baht and a free slice of pizza. a few more doors down on the left you will find [CodeWord901]'s. i have not tried this but, have read here that you can get a decent bbbj. maybe more stuff as well. follow the road round to the right and you will find the devils den on your left. this is another place that gets a lot of mentions here. if you keep walking forward you will see club blu on your left. i think this might open around 20.00 and you will see girls dancing in the window areas. also, in this area, there are many hotels and guest houses. should you leave this hotel and take a right turn you will see many bars on the left and right side of the road. if you are thirsty sit down and have a drink. if not keep walking for about five minutes and you will be at soi 8. take a walk down this soi. this is usually throbbing with loud music and girls dancing on the bars. quite exciting for a new guy in town. there is also a fairly decent hotel in this area called flipper lodge. like the diana inn very clean, friendly staff and joiner friendly. soi 7, very close to soi 8 is very much the same. you should find go-go bars in both sois with a good selection of girls and girls playing together in jacuzzis. sometimes tourists join in! from soi 7 you can cross the road by the traffic lights and walk 10 minutes or, jump on the back of a taxi for 1 minute and you will find soi 6. very popular for day time action. full of bars on both sides of the road. many girls will be sitting outside and calling out to you offering all kinds of services. each bar has short time rooms upstairs. the rooms normally cost about 350 baht and the girls from 500 to 1,000 baht. when you have finished there walk back the way you came and turn left. there will be many bars on both sides of the road again but, if you keep walking for another 5 minutes you will be at soi 2. similar to soi 7 & 8. loud music and lots of girls. this is also an area for soapy massages. sabai land, sabai rooms, sabai dee. google the names for more details. by this time you might be hungry. in this area you can't miss seeing big c. this is a big shopping complex. very cool, very clean with three floors. these floors include many shops and restaurants that you would find in malls all over the world, pizza hut, chester’s grill, black canyon coffee, swenson’s, toys r us, the body shop, lee cooper, john henry, wrangler, swatch, adidas, boots, watson’s and bookazine. there are many ice cream parlors and, many small booths selling all kinds of thai souvenirs, clothes, hats and sun glasses. at one end, there is a large supermarket and, at the other end an it junction with, many small shops selling all the latest mobile phones, computer games and cameras. a movie theatre occupies the top floor split up into eight mini theatres. here you can watch thai movies with english sub titles and, all the latest movies, from all over the world, with an english soundtrack and, thai sub titles.

now, back at the diana inn again. if you leave the hotel, turn left and keep walking, the first place you will see is kiss restaurant. very popular with tourists and ex pats alike. keep walking and you will pass more bars on both sides of the road. very quickly, on the left, you will spot tim's go-go. inside normally a good selection of girls. out the back a good selection of pool tables. a good place to watch english soccer if you are into that type of thing. tim's boutique hotel is located in a side street. might be another one to consider. keep walking and you will see the avenue on the left. like big c you will find many famous names here. boots, adidas, mcdonald's etc. there is also a very popular irish pub called shenanigans. inside you will find a bowling alley, movie theatre and fitness center. the fitness center has a very aggressive marketing policy with, sometimes, stunning girls, trying to drag potential customers inside. keep walking and you will see the d2 hotel on your left. a fairly new hotel. might be worth checking out. on the other side of the road you will see two sois (soi yamoto and soi post office). lots more bars in these sois and massage parlours. in soi post office, obviously where the local post office is located, many of the massage parlours specialize in two girl massages. they seem to like to massage you in pairs. they normally have some kind of specials. keep walking and you will see the royal garden plaza on your right. another shopping mall with loads of shops and loads of place to eat. the marriott is also here. another place you might want to consider. keep walking and you will pass the fraser hotel (google it) and a bit further a few more side streets with bars and hotels. this is pattaya land sois 1, 2 & 3. keep walking and you will see some traffic lights. turn right at the lights and walk for 2 minutes. on your left will be the entrance to the walking street. not worth having a look during the day but, at night, this is said to be one of the most exciting streets in thailand. once the neon lights click on the street is transformed into a big playground for adults. there are many go-go bars and clubs. it's expensive. a bit of a money pit but, you can have a great time here. go-go bars that i like are heaven above and angelwitch (good shows).

as for a 'wingman' to show you the ropes. you might find many people in the diana inn area who are willing to take on this role.

    have fun.

No there are rental sites. Guys buy up the condos as investments and let folks / agencies rent them out, one week, three weeks etc. I have the info PM me.

Secondly you can do Nova Park Serviced Apartments almost across from Soi 6. There is a side soi, something like blah blah blah soi 4. That turns into Soi AR and right there is Nova Park.

16, 000 baht or so for a month in a guest place. A little more for a full one bedroom apartment. Down side is that the apartments do not have couches only four chairs (two at table and then two chairs with side table infront of TV). Bed is big, full fridge OK cooking areas etc. NO BALCONY in the apartments but balcony in the studio's. Apartments have sliding windows so can open up and not use Air Con (yeah some folks actually don't like A/C as Pattaya is not really that hot compared to one's home country.) Jamesons is right there and decent food, it's close the back way to Big see and you can go the backroads through to other places.

I'd strongly suggest Talay for location, how nice it is etc. But it ain't cheap.

If you are looking for serviced apartments Pattaya doesn't have much. Whatever you find let me know via PM or post as I'd be interested too. There are some higher end Places north and south but not really in Pattaya Central yet. Some new construction going that route but not there yet.

    View Talay 6

I am not sure about that? Being only long times. I am going to be in View Talay 6 next month for 10 days. But I noticed in the calendar Tik has for the room I saw people had booked it for much less than 10 days. And she listed a daily fee. Send her an email, she is quick to respond. I have NOT stayed here before but will report on same after the visit
