Being very close to Soi Buakow is ok too but I much prefer hotels located next to or on Second or Beach Road. Don't worry about distance to WS. Pattaya's baht bus system operates 24 hours and is amazingly convenient and cheap. Hop on a baht bus and you can get to WS and / or shopping malls in minutes for 10 baht (US thirty cents).

Posts: 45Bangkok and Pattaya hotels urgent help.
Hello everyone,
I am from Delhi and travelling to Bangkok and Pattaya in 10 days (just made the booking). Could you guys please help me out with the hotels as I am really confused as to which hotel I should choose.
Priority: Centralised location, girl friendly (no joiner fee), upper middle category (around 3500 Indian rupees per day is my budget). This is my first trip to Thailand and my friends just gave their confirmations for this trip. So its an urgent request.
Thanks in advance for the support in hope that seniors and others here will help a fellow monger.

I am thinking of booking Acqua Hotel for my next trip to Pattaya. The reviews on Hotels.com are very good. Anyone stayed there recently? I like it because it's close to 2nd Road and LK Metro.

But for views from the restaurants, pool and connected to the no 1 mall in Pattaya, I think it is very good. You'the have to make sure you are booking ocean view. And I don't know about smoking.

I've never been to Pattaya before so have been doing my share of rtff.
I'm looking for:
- oceanfront or at least ocean view.
- walking distance to nightlife.
- upper end / somewhat fancy.
- balcony.
- GF 18+ Ideally 2 girls at once
$ not too big of a deal. Up to $200 USD a night is fine.
From what I've read my best bet is going to be LK Empress. Can someone confirm? (Or offer a better solution).
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Posts: 54Thanks for the tips in this thread, I've stayed in Baraquda for a few nights and I'm really pleased with it. The only thing is the furniture seemed to be a bit dated (and also the wardrobe was rather small), but overall the experience was very nice. Super-friendly staff, had my room ready at 1 pm, and since I (unbeknown to me) have a silver status in the accorclub, also gave me a late checkout until 3 pm (couldn't do any later). Which was very handy as my flight was departing in the evening, and I only got back from Insomnia at 7 am anyway.
A girl I took from Insomnia spent good few minutes being amused by the concept of the in-room shower (as in Baraquda the shower is separated from the main room by a glass partition, rather than being in a separate room). They also called me when she was leaving to check if everything is ok, which I find really nice and gives me a peace of mind.
Its not cheap, but highly recommended.

Posts: 6304I believe the original poster has already stayed at LK Empress and wants something nicer. Royal Cliff is the nicest hotel I have stayed at in Pattaya. More of a resort like Dusit Thani. Your best bet is likely Baraquda for convenience to Walking Street and a nice room.
I concur with others that the average Baywalk room is not nicer than the average LK room. The 60+ sqm rooms in some of the LK hotels are quite nice.

I could not relate to a prior comment that somebody wanted a nicer hotel.

Posts: 341I have stayed at the Baywalk Residence and it is not even close to as nice as the LK Empress. There may be other reasons for staying at the Baywalk but being nicer than The LK is not one of them.

Banaboi, yeah I that may of seemed a little bit exaggerated. My list of GF hotels I gathered last trip didn't have a whole lot of different hotels listed. None of the ones why'all mentioned except Barracuda. That Royal cliff looks really nice. I'm going to check that one out eventually either way. Wow! Seems the baywalk is the winner for me. Perfect location for what I want to do and seems a notch up from LK & Areca. Had a pretty bad experience at LK last trip. Thanks for all your help! Great suggestions! Thanks.
