Posts: 245I'll be arriving next week. I've decided on the Holiday Inn Express. It will probably be around 3 am when I get to the hotel and this looks like about the easiest place for me anyway. It's in an area I want to check out. I'm going to reserve two nights, that should be enough time to check out other places.
I'm still open for suggestions.

IIRC the reviews from 3-4 years ago were about the Hermann Hotel that was being built in Soi 12, not far from Sandy Spring.
By the way, the post from Jaybee77 that you quoted was from 2004!
And another by the way: has anyone already tried the Hermann Hotel? What was it like?

Ask her to visit South Africa, Brazil or any other African or South American country and tell me if her experience gets better. She probably will get kidnapped in some of the countries in first few days.
India is a massive country with population more than Europe, USA, UK, Canada, Australia COMBINED. Just like part of the Thailand or any first world country are not safe for foreigners, parts of India may not be safe.

Posts: 251LOL she might be giving just HJs in the massage shops but it would economically make any sense for her to just do that. These Thai girls meet guys in their flats in Delhi. They all usually stay close to each other in a building and have guys come over to their place.
Rest I don't dispute anything she says.

Condos are super GF, you can take as many girls as you want to your room and nobody blink an eye, just don't make noise.
Some apartments have safetybox and some not. Just ask your host. If the apartment don't have safetybox use your luggage as safetybox.

Posts: 268Even I prefer and always try to book with Balcony for smoking but recently one of my friend was charged 2000 bhat for smoking in Balcony as property was no smoking. I called around 7-8 hotels and all said no smoking. What about hard rock cafe? Sunshine hotel & residence is green with smoking policy and have balcony but rooms are average which I don't want to compromise

Posts: 268Pattaya hotel with smoking room
Seems many hotels turned into non smoking even with balconies. It's painful to come out for smoke in between or in night. Checked LK impress, Mercure, Baywalk all said no smoking in room. Any suggestions please.

Now I have seen baht buses drive straight after making the left turn past Walking Street. I would guess they travel up a bit and turn left to go towards LK Metro but I am not sure.
