    Hotels with good Internet

    Dear Seniors,

I am coming in the beginning of September and will have to work from 18:00-03:30.

I need WiFi for ZOOM / G-Meet / facetime. I do not need movies / large file downloads, but latency is important.

Needless to say, I am looking for girls-friendly places (hotels / apts). 6 years ago, I stayed at a wonderful place which did not let visitors leave and got their cards before I oked their departure from my phone in the room or personally escort them out. But it was too much noise at night (I did not care then). So LK Empress sounds like a winner, except where did they take 20+ policy? Why not 18+??

Also I am not limited to Pattaya -- I would be happy to take a nice, attentive girl-friend for a vacation, but I have no idea how to find such a person. I am not successful in mobile apps, as people misrepresent themselves, so references would be greatly appreciated -- Please PM, if you can.

Stayed 7 nights at the LK Empress.

Overall: very good breakfast with huge variety, no issues with girls (except 1 , who was 19 on ID but they don't allow under 20's).

Rooms and bed very good standard (I was in king Suite).

    Location convenient to all places.

Only bad thing: balcony. I specifically wanted one and thiers was tiny, with a hot ac extractor making it impossible to sit there) see pic.

My last stay at LK the Empress was 2017 and the floors were so highly polished that they were dangerous slippery wearing socks. I almost injured myself from that. A month later my friend stayed there and he had the same impression.

Has the slippery floor problem been fixed? That is a show stopper for me.

    LK The Empress

First I want to thank everyone that took the time to respond to my inquiries a few months ago. I finally made it to Pattaya and checked in the LK The Empress on Friday evening. Check in was handled quickly and with a smile. The put me on the 8th floor with a nice view of the condo building next door and a small section of the beach. It is okay, I am not in the room for the view. Just have to keep the curtains drawn and taking a lady on the balcony is out of the question unless she likes to be watched.

The room is clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. Internet is okay and the housekeeper for my room is a treat. Of course it might be that I gave her a nice tip after making sure she was the one for my room every day. Got extra towels and water in the deal.

My package includes the Breakfast buffet which is extensive and has an egg station. I am sure there are better in town, but this one is more than sufficient. The hotel is about 20-30 steps from Beach Rd on Soi 12, now I just have to figure out how to get where I want to go from here and how to find my way. That is half the fun.

I paid 18 K baht for 8 nights all taxes and fees included from Agoda. I will stay here again for certain.

    Again, thanks for the input.

    Sky.

I will be staying at the Sandy Sprung this December for few days before heading to Bangkok. It's on SOI 13. An old hotel, but you can get the suite room for around $100.

I believe the rooms at the west side are Deluxe Rooms only.
Last year I stayed in what they call a Superior room and it was on the west side of the hotel. I prefer the superior room even though it is their smallest room. It is still a good sized room. I'm trying to make a reservation there now for next month but I'm not getting a response. I wonder if their reservation system is offline?

    Lodging Near "Street Walker Action"

Note: When we talk pricing around here we prefer to quote rates in Thai Baht because readers hail from many countries. USD $70 works out to 2,380 Baht (at 34 Baht to the Dollar).

Most of the freelance street walkers can be found on the west side of Beach Road, between, say Pattaya Central Road and Pattaya South Road. Also known as the "Coconut Bar. " There are plenty of hotels on the east side of Beach Road. I recommend using your favorite search engine (Agoda is good) to search for a place that looks appealing to you. Bear in mind that the freelancers tend to congregate toward the southern end of Beach Road. Once you've identified a prospect, you can search this forum for reports on that hotel, plus online reports from Tripadvisor and so forth.

Bear in mind that Thai girls absolutely HATE to walk. So their idea of a "short walk" will probably differ from yours. If you're going to do this, I'd suggest a hotel within a couple hundred meters of where Beach Road turns into Walking Street.

Be advised that traffic there can be intense, especially during high season. It's going to be noisy. Finding a "quiet" room with "thick walls" is going to be a challenge. Also, the hotels on the east side of Beach Road south of, say, Soi 13/2 are pretty basic. On Soi 13 there are some nicer places that are only a short walk to Beach Road. I've long recommended the Whitehouse Condotel. It's a chill place that caters to early-rising golfers so it's usually pretty quiet at night.

If the "point and shoot" experience at a modest price is your goal, consider Soi 6. Or the massage shops on Soi Honey. In both locales you'll take care of business onsite. Book quiet lodging on, say, Soi 13 or on the east side of town closer to Third Road. Just a suggestion.

I would add Casa Pascal to the list. Not the breakfast / brunch buffet (as much as I love it). But the a la carte menu.

Fine dining will be on a lower level than you're find in BKK.

I was looking at Grande Centre Point Space since it looks cool and has a small waterpark for guests.

Would like some recommendations for fine dining, as I will be splurging for my birthday and not be as frugal as I normally am.
If you're looking for larger resort places, go further away from Pattaya Central. Especially if you already have company to take with you.

    Some suggestions.

    More about breakfast buffets

Now that the buffets at the Lek and Apex hotel are closed, and the people from Casa Pascal are enjoying a well deserved holiday, I had to look around for other breakfast buffets in this area.

    LK The Empress, 7 - 11 AM, 300 Baht.
Lots of choice, more than last year. They also have dark bread now, for example. I mean darker than before, not that brownish bread that is something in between white and dark.
However, the coffee there still sucks.

    Centara Azure, 6:30 - 10:30 AM, 293 Baht.
The choice and ambience are comparable to LK The Empress, but the coffee is much better, and they also have freshly baked dark bread. But only one type of bread, not 3 or 4 like Casa Pascal.
