Hi,
Is the Hard Rock Hotel guest friendly?
Is it suitable for mongers, or is it more of a family hotel?

I emailed them regarding a booking for the 1st 2 weeks in February & their reply back to me, I didn't get a sense that this place wasn't too friendly so many rules regarding booking a room (sending a passport photo & other info that I have NEVER been asked before while booking any hotel room in my life), breakfast excluded, 1st guest is free, but if want to bring in a 2nd woman later in the day/evening it will cost you 500B--I like having 2 ST or more per day.
The reply smelled like attitude so I'm going 2 pass on this place even though I do like the looks of it.
It might be a thai thing or lack of language/miscommunication as both this place & the Apex hotel have online booking manager that are not too friendly & have put me off from staying there.
For the 1st time in now my 5 trips to Thailand/Pattaya in the past 26 months, I will be going 2 Pattaya blind/no rooms reserved.
I will probably stay somewhere very cheap my 1st night & go hotel hopping during the 1st day & see what kind of deals I can find.
I'm sure another political crisis in the next few weeks will kill off any so called high season they may have left, if it hasnt ruined them for 2009 already.

A guy that I "know" (well, never met him in the real life yet) from another board has listed a lot of hotels in Pattaya on his website: http://www.pattayaone.com/
The design of this website is highly perfectible, but you guys might find it interesting despite of it.

Good find Max,
It looks like I'm going 2 be shut out from my usual Apex Hotel for the 1st 2 weeks of February (the duration of my Pattaya trip)
The place looks decent, the price is right for it looking like it is 1 step above the Apex & if it is GF. I'll book the place this weekend.
Soi Buakhao is not 2 far away from the action, just 1 quick street above 2nd road & a quick baht bus to the beach, bars & walking street if I remember correctly.

I would suggest they just haven't received their cancellations yet and that there won't be a problem over Christmas. If there is I am in trouble also as I could only get one till Dec 29 a few of weeks ago, haven't tried since.
I am told Pattaya is basically dead now.

Posts: 993oops! All hotels are taken from secrets to sunshine to 3sum during X'mas time.
Does someone know 1000 THB range guest friendly hotel around walking street. I say guest friendly 'cos most of the seasoned mongers have mostly booked the hotels already and what left wuld be joiner fee no guest type hotels..
Talk about economic meltdown and tourist going away from patts..its all full during X'mas
Thanks

Looking for a hotel under $150 USD. Needs to be GF friendly and with a pool. I liked the Hard Rock last year(first trip) but the cost seemed excessive for what you got.
Something on Beach road a plus. Relatively quiet. I don't have to be next to Walking Street either.
