    Pattaya Hotels

    Fellas,

I am traveling to Pattaya for the first time in July. In your opinion amongst these three hotels Nova Platinum, Sunshine and LK Metropole, in order of importance, gf w / no charge good wifi in the room being second, swimming pool third, and close to walking street which would be the best choice? Also when I was in Dom. Rep. I bought a device from Orange that allows me to have wifi on the go. Do you think it will work there? I hear they have the same type of setup called pocket wifi and all I would have to do is change the sim card IF it is unlocked.

    Whitehouse Condotel

I have stayed there every year for about 8 years. Very good value. They can arrange airport transfers but they will charge a premium. The Whitehouse location is IMHO the best location in Pattaya. Three minute walk to Beach Road and 2 minute walk to Second Road and the Avenue Pattaya Mall. You can easily get a baht bus on Beach Road to go to walking street (also can walk) and the Second road baht buses make it easy to get to the Second Road soapies, soi 6, and Big see and Central Festival Malls. Bathrooms in all rooms are large and easily accomodate 2 people.

You can make transportation arrangements to get from Pattaya to Bangkok city or airport by leaving the hotel and going to Second Road. Tons of transportation agencies there. There is also one or two places right across from the Whitehouse front door. Literally a 3 second walk. Plenty of ATMs and currency places, 7-11, a grocery store (Villa Market I think) very close. Take in a movie at Avenue Mall. Not crowded like some of the other theatres. Breakfast is decent and is served late. GF of course but they may charge for bringing two girls back. They collect the girls IDs when they visit you. I consider that a very good thing.

    Whitehouse airport transfer

The Whitehouse Hotel shows they have airport transfer, but they have not answered my email. Is it free if I book a room? If not, generally how much is it? Any info on the Whitehouse would be appreciated.

    Sunview Place

I was in Patts about 10 nights ago. Stayed at Sunview Place on soi bukhao for 12 nights. Paid about 750 baht a night, booked thru agoda. Staff were fantastic, rooms clean, although its is looking a bit old and the towels and linen were looking aged. I would stay there again.

They saved my ass as the first night in Patts, my BF ended up being 17, although she looked 25. The stern reception lady did a great job saving my bacon!

Thanks Bunky but after reading some non flattering reviews on the Penthouse and with advice of some seniors I will book the Sandy Spring Hotel. I just need a nice big room with a balcony view so my many guests at one time can have a blast.

I think I speak for many punters when I say that Mr. Niko's question is void for vagueness."Non roach infested" sets the bar pretty low, so I could recommend any place from a no-frills guesthouse east of Soi Buakaow at 800 baht per night to the duplex suite at the Dusit D2 for 5000 plus. Perhaps if he lets us know what he wants to spend, and what hotel amenities he prefers, we could be of more help.

Coming to Pattaya in June. Booked for two nights with The Privi Hotel. Anyone have any experience as to how it is and if it is girl friendly.

    PacSafe TravelSafe

If your safe isn't big enough, lock your laptop in your suitcase and your suitcase to something in the room.
About 5 years ago, I checked into a hotel in Pattaya that had a room safe; but the previous guest forgot to leave the safe open so it was closed and locked. I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance guy who quickly opened it. I don't know how he opened it so quickly, but I've always kept that in mind whenever I put anything in a hotel safe. A hotel safe can give a guest a false sense of security which a dishonest hotel employee can take advantage of and take a few items (jewelry, credit card, money) without the guest missing it.

I'm a big fan of PacSafe TravelSafe. Even if there's a hotel safe, I'll still put my valuables inside a locked PacSafe and put it inside the safe; but I replace the PacSafe padlock with a beefier Master padlock. If a dishonest hotel employee opens the safe, he or she will have to take the PacSafe; then I'll know it's an inside job.

If there's no hotel safe, you really can't leave your laptop or tablet out in the open or unsecured. It might not be the hotel maid who steals it, but hotel maids are notorious for leaving room doors open or unlocked as they clean. Someone can quickly walk in, grab it, and be gone in a flash.

PacSafe TravelSafe 12L will hold a 15' laptop.

PacSafe TravelSafe 5L will hold an iPad tablet.

When I'm home, I keep a PacSafe TravelSafe in my car which I attach to a metal bolt under the car seat. It's great when I go hiking or to the beach and have to leave valuable inside my car (like a GPS).

Pattaya hotels that alow 2 guests

Been to Pattaya 2 times and was planning my next mongering trip. Are there any decent hotels that allow 2 girls to join you in your room without questions or joiner fees? Otherwise any suggestions of places that have a resonable joiner fee for the 2nd lady? Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I think LK Metropole is just about perfect.

Yes. It's guest friendly and it's right in the middle of LK Metro; it's an easy 10 minute walk to the beach; 10 minute walk to either big shopping mall: easy access to the Baht Buses; lots of entertainment and dining choices right outside the hotel. I haven't stayed there, but I've stayed at both Areca Lodge and Tim Boutique at least 5 times each, and they're both in the same area, but their safes are too small to hold a laptop. So I just take my iPad, iPhone, iLube, iViagara, and iCondoms and I'm ready for a month in paradise.
