Read through the forum. I am booked in at the discovery beach hotel in Pattaya.
Is the location handy to all the action.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Two girls ago there were reviews in the internet that th hotel charges 1. 000 THB for a joining guests. The latest reviews indicate that obviously management policy has changed and they no longer charge a joiner fee.
Anyway Allover IMHO is also right, there's no need staying at a high priced hotel. I really like the Hilton Pattaya and was always treated nicely as a HHonors Gold Member, but no matter you pay cash or use your HHonors points, the Hilton Pattaya is very pricey. I'd rather spent my money or points on the new Hilton Sukhumvit or DoubleTree Sukhumvit in Bangkok and stay elsewhere in Pattaya.

BadDances, here are a few I would look into. I have never stayed at the Hilton. Personally I don't think you need to spend a lot for hotels in Pattaya to get a good hotel. LK The Empress on Soi 12 at Beach Road. Dusit2 on second road at the Avenue A mall. That's just across from Soi 13/1. And there is always the Pattaya Marriott. For me location is everything. I hate walking in the Thailand heat and need to be very near a baht bus. The places I mentioned have outstanding locations. I would pick out the cheapest of that group and go for it. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Posts: 20Has anyone had experience with guests at the Hilton in Pattaya? I stayed at the Conrad in Bangkok last year and brought two girls home one night with no issue but they also didn't take their ID at the desk which I know could be a risk for me. Does anyone know if the Hilton in Pattaya is the same? I was thinking about staying at the penthouse but the reviews seem to suggest it has fallen into disrepair in the past two years. I have the points and do like how I am treated at the Hilton plus there is a caliber that I can trust. Are there other equivalents?

I am planning a trip to Pattaya in the near future and have booked into Diamond beach hotel. Your opinion on the hotel would be greatly appreciated. Secondly, the hotel boasts massage facilities? Do the offer specials. Is the hotel close to all the action?
Thanks a lot in advance.

I was in Sunshine in October last time, and especially liked the big breakfast buffet. Always skipped lunch afterwards. No problem to have breakfast with a girl next morning. Walk to WS still reasonable for me, to inspect the FL in the afternoon / evening. Otherwise. 10Baht for a bus.

Sunshine has also gone downhill but it's still a better bet, as are the various Eastinys. But basically I don't think Soi 7 or 8 are very good places to stay any more.

Posts: 7Flipper lodge is terrible. You get what you pay for. The staff is extremely unfriendly. Condescending even. Internet is expensive. The night life being right outside your door is great if you don't like walking but music is booming til 330-400am. Ear plugs recommended. And Soi 8 is much lower quality than years passed. Has 1 decent bar with 15 girls. 5 of which are doable but are required to stay til certain time to draw customers. Other bars have 4-5 girls. Low quality. Soi 7 better option but also has lost draw.
Rooms in building B are newer / cleaner, but have extremely thin walls and doors connecting to room next door. You hear everything from tv (even low volume) , to your fellow mongers pounding away at all hours. Room next to a smoker? Smoke comes in under door and stinks. I had to put a wet towel to block door crack.
Shower has good pressure. Beds are rock hard. Great pillows. Maid service good. Food okay but buffet not too clean. Pool was freeezing so most just sat on deck chairs sunning. Roof top pool staff great but unattentive. You had to walk over to them to get anything.
Overall clean but not an enjoyable stay given all other problems. You've got to be comfortable and sleep to charge up for mongering.
1 or 2 days okay. Longer than that, you'll regret it.

Posts: 156I stayed in the Sunshine Hotel on Soi 8 when in Pattaya last week. I don't remember what I paid but know it was pretty reasonable. The hotel is quite nice with multiple pools, a good sized room safe, comfortable bed and decent bathroom. There's plenty of bars and go-gos on and around Soi 8 although it's a bit of a walk to Walking Street. It's girl friendly for at least one girl but I don't know about multiples as that's really not my gig.

Posts: 100Good Walking Street Hotels. Guest friendly
Hey guys heading to Pattaya in a couple days. I see a lot of post for hotels near Soi 8 but not Walking street areas. Dive lounge or Flipper hotel, any other recommendations? Kinda lazy and don't want to walk far to the action. Thanks. Diamond beach hotel? $35-50 per diem. Going on a Monday so. Worried it might be slow.

Posts: 2502Really, in Thailand you should stay "jai jen" if you want to be respected. It doesn't matter whether the other person is a waitress, a desk clerk or the manager, or even if you could have bought the whole hotel seven times over. If money is anything in Thailand then it is something that gives you almost the obligation to behave up to your position in life.
