Posts: 38I'm curious about this place as well after seeing the pictures of the rooms and the rates 550 baht per night if you stay for a week or more is damned nice...
Thanks for the link, Gray

Also, don't walk around up on the hill at night: It's an area notorious for muggings.

There were a few guest houses in and around Soi 5 that were quite cheap when I was there (this is also the main beer bar area in Jomtien, surprise surprise). Other punting opportunities are in the back of the Jomtien Complex - the built-up centre where the main road snakes down to the beach from the hill - and a couple of mediocre agogos on said section of the road. More punting opportunities were the Nineteenth Hole near Siam Country Club and the Winchester Pub (may have changed it's name but a Google should find it) in South Jomtien.
Of course, Pattaya and it's mythical shirtless brawling drunks plus it's myriad of punting opportunities is a ten minute 30bt Songtheaw ride away.

Looks good, with great views over Pattaya, and good reviews on tripadvisor. I'm seriously considering booking there soon.
Is transport to and from the action a problem?

Looking for a clean, comfortable place with a pool, needs to be VERY close to the beach road in Jomtien if not on the road itself ! Girl friendly, budget around THB 1,500, appreciate any recomendations. Only needed for 2 nights.
Also any insights to the nightlife in Jomtien would be appreciated. Thanks, M.

Posts: 15Away from the constant partying
Hello, fellow travelers,
I'm fortunate enough to be in Pattaya enjoying myself yet staying in a very well appointed hotel away from the constant din.
The Dynasty Resort is a beautiful hotel on top of the only mountain in Pattaya. No motorcy with drunks screaming by at all hours of the day and night, or loud beer bars playing hip hop music.
The hotel is girl friendly with no joiner fee, has a full kitchen/bar with good food, and is clean and modern with beautiful teak finish.
The staff is very friendly, and and the rates are in my oppinion very reasonable. I'm paying 1350 baht per night thru the internet complete with breakfast for 2. If you want this you have to book for 2 and prepay.
There is a nice pool and wading pool for the little ones.
I have been staying here every trip for the last 7 years, and enjoy the tranquility, and relative convience.
Just thought I would pass it on to my fellow travelers.
To find it just google Dynasty resort.
Happy traveling,

Rio,
Your Patts hotel Q from the Phuket board answered here:
Check the Sawasdeehotelgroup website:
http://www.hotelssawasdee.com/?gclid...FYKB3godwlb4RA
This is where the hotels are:
http://maps.google.nl/maps?f=q&sourc...,0.111237&z=14
(To find Pattaya in googlemaps, enter Na Kloe)
There are hotels and hotel like guesthouse a plenty in Patts, just check this thread.
Hotel reservations are usualy easy to make and reliable.
If you don't need the room service or stares at reception, a guesthouse can be a good choice. However, they are not good at taking reservations. Meaning that you can call and they can confirm, but still no room when you arrive...
Regards,
F

Hi all,
First off, a quick update. On my last trip to Pattaya, I stayed at the Marriott and can confirm they have no problem with guests. In fact, because I had a repeat guest on consecutive nights, the security guard/front desk let her up to my room w/o having to give id. In addition, the hotel has a great breakfast, good clean room, expensive internet, ok bathroom, and the balcony was nice too. Location was perfect as it is in the middle of everything yet with all the trees around it, it does have secluded feeling. Typical Marriott service.
Will be heading to Pattaya again next week and staying at the Marriott because I have enough points BUT I am interested in the higher end hotels and wondering if any of you can provide some advice.
In addition to the basics: which are good internet connection, clean soft/kingsized beds, more modern look, clean bathroom, and guest friendly what I am interested in are suite type arrangements with large bathrooms and large tubs (big enough for 2 or 3 so a jaccuzzi would be great) with a great location. Searching other websites, I did find Dusit D2 which is right across from the Marriott (I think) and that would be a choice. However, I do want to hear other choices, if any, and any feedback on Dusit D2?Last edited by Admin; 04-12-09 at 21:10.
