As to your Wolf of Wall Street ride to Pattaya; that is a bit of a fantasy. You can avail yourself of the Devils Den VIP pickup service, but its not like you are going to have an orgy in the back. No, that will only begin when you arrive in Pattaya, so for a 90 minute ride from BKK to Pattaya with two girls it really is not worth it and way overpriced. Just wait to arrive and walk over to DD. Meet the girls and take who ever you want. Or wait until 8 pm and hit the Walking Street. There are plenty of girls in the higher rated Go Go's who will do menage. It is always best to meet the girls 1st hand, see who you like and build up some chemistry before you take them back to your hotel room. There are no shortcuts if you really want to have a good time.

P.S. buy a membership. I was going to send you a PM with more information, but you do not have private message capability.
Also, thanks for reminding me to purchase a subscription. Done. Totally kept meaning to do that.

Also, you can't enjoy Pattaya on a single visit without at least checking WS out. You're nationality will not be an issue, just leave the turban in the room, LOL
Thanks also for the advice Nixonbd but I have already paid for the LK Metropole, done deal. I will definitely check out walking street on one of the nights I am there and also Soi 6. I am scheduled to spend a few days in Singapore but if I am having too much fun in Pattaya, I'll just stay there! No turban here as I am Hawaiian but thanks for that wardrobe advice also!

Thanks. Natty Bumpo. Sound advice I am sure. I will follow it and post again on how everything goes.

I am a long time user of the USG for Honolulu and I am excited to make some memories in Thailand. I will be spending 4 days in Bangkok (in total) and 2 days each in Pattaya and Phuket. I first booked the Penthouse Hotel in Pattaya but after going back and forth in my mind after reading a lot of mixed reviews, and considering the venues of Walking Street and LK Metro, I thought I might have a better time spending my actual birthday at LK Metro rather than Walking Street. So, I canceled my booking at Penthouse and booked a Deluxe Suite at LK Metropole. I don't know which forum I should post this question and I apologize if this is off topic and / or a stupid question but how easy or difficult would it be to coordinate several LT girls from a bar / gogo or would it be easier to book through DD or something for my birthday festivities. I'm envisioning the Wolf of Wall Street plane ride here (without the coke). I will probably not get back to Thailand again so I wanted to make the most of it and have a grand ol time while I am there. Again, sorry if the question is dumb. I am also starting to have concerns because I am from Hawaii, mixed race tan complexion, wondering if the Thai girls might not be too interested because I'm not white or haole as the Hawaiians say.

Looks like they were indeed picking on you! 5555.

On a less humorous note I have been a Agoda member and user for a long time now (over 10 years). Incidentally Agoda was founded in 1998 in Thailand and is now headquarted in Singpaore. I have used the portal for all my travels across all continents and I have not once faced an issue. They even have a decent loyalty program which allows you to redeem points against hotel tariff. Maybe your experience was an exception and you must complain to them. They take feedback pretty seriously and will redress your grievance.

P.S. - I am not canvassing for them, just my 2 cents.

I don't think its yet time to write off Agoda. I have also been using Booking alternatively and both seem to have been good so far. Multiple cancellations and rebookings flawlessly handled.

    Hotel Resrvations

I have booked with all the major booking sites (Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia, Kayak, ect) and with specific hotels directly. I have never had a problem with any of them and they are all fungible in my opinion so I have no loyalties and book with the one that offers the best deal at the time I am interested in making a reservation. It varies. Sometimes there are great deals on Agoda and other times not.

Concerning Agoda, I like doing business with them. They provide good descriptions of the specific rooms I am interested in and their room quotes are per night and never include taxes. Taxes are listed as an extra charge that is added on to the reservation before the total cost is calculated. It is easy to see. Booking dot com, on the other hand, provides quotes per length of stay and sometimes these quotes include the taxes and sometimes not, so I find the Agoda website easier to read and decipher. But like I said, Agoda DOES not always offer the lowest price. Sometimes Booking. Dot com has the lowest price and other times even Expedia or Travelocity or the hotel website direct has the best deal.

I have always received, within a few minutes of making a reservation, an email confirmation with an attached PDF voucher for all my Agoda reservations. I save the voucher file to hard disk and print it out as well. This is the page you show the hotel when checking in and I have never had a problem checking into any hotel. Agoda does have a number to call in case you do not receive the confirmation email with attached voucher. I have called this number only a couple of times, not about the voucher, but about some other matter and my issue was handled professionally and efficiently. I have no complaints with Agoda.

P.S. Agoda also has a reward point system similar to Expedia's and it is always nice to receive $25 off a reservation every once in a while.

I book direct with Intercontinental, Hyatt, and Marriott hotels because I have each of their respective Chase credit cards. These Visa cards have an annual fee, but come with annual free nights and free upgrades. The cards also have zero fx charge for all foreign transactions. Still, I always compare the hotel web site price with Agoda /Booking.com sites just to make sure I am getting the best deal.

    Agoda & Booking.com

The funny thing is that both Agoda & Booking.com are owned by the same American company (Priceline).
But Agoda was based in Thailand originally while Booking.com was based (and still is) in the Netherlands. Maybe that says it all, LOL.

Marckus, I think its a bad experience you have faced with Agoda. I booked Baywalk residence for my upcoming visit yesterday afternoon with a pay later option. Agoda.

I had booked Hotel Nana Bangkok with Agoda but didnot face any problem.

I immediately got an Email confirmation. And I had forwarded the same email to the Hotel Email ID.

While Checking in, the reception already had a print of the booking with them and check in was smooth.

I have again booked with Agoda this time in Pattaya, don't know how will be the experience this time.

To be more cautious, I will forward the booking confirmation email to the Hotel Email so that they remain aware of the booking in advance.

In this latest case their only advice is that if (probably when) my credit card gets charged, I should send them 'evidence'. What they'll do after that I don't know. Since the deal I booked isn't going to show up on my card til I go on holiday I suppose I have to just sit and worry about it til then!

My usual habit for these things is to open two windows and hunt down the same rooms via Bookings and agoda, then go with the cheapest. But with their hidden fees and now, just lately, this complete lack of feedback, it's Booking.com only for me for now on. Or maybe I'll just turn up.

Anyone else noticed this decline with agoda or are they just picking on me?
Booking.com is totally transparent. You get an instant confirmation email, and your booking always shows up in your account on their website. And should you need to cancel a reservation they also confirm instantly. But more importantly, IMHO, is that they show you the TOTAL price upfront. Agoda quotes their prices minus the taxes and service charges so that you think their price is lower. It's a lousy way to do business. Booking includes the 10% and 7% addons in their quote.

And Agoda almost always charges you upfront, while Booking almost always lets you pay directly to the hotel when you check out. When they've got your money they've also got you by the balls.

I only used Agoda once, and I had to prepay for a 28 night stay in Patts. When I arrived at the hotel at 02:30 after traveling for 31 hours from the US they had no record of my reservation. I had to call Agoda on my cell phone at $2. 99 per minute to try to sort this out. That call cost me almost 100 USD, and while they finally found the reservation they refused to reimburse me for the call. They didn't even apologize for the error. How arrogant is that?

I've used Booking at least 20 times without a single hiccup.

Agoda not very good these days

I think Agoda's vagaries have been commented on before but I think I'm going to have to stop using agoda.com to book my Pattaya and Bangkok stays. No confirmation page, no confirmation email and, when I go to 'manage my bookings' there's nothing there at all. Yet I know I handed my credit card details over and got a brief message saying it was booked. Who knows if I'll have a room when I get there? Then after two hours I get an email saying they don't know what I'm talking about. But I bet I get charged, as usual.

My usual habit for these things is to open two windows and hunt down the same rooms via Bookings and agoda, then go with the cheapest. But with their hidden fees and now, just lately, this complete lack of feedback, it's Booking.com only for me for now on. Or maybe I'll just turn up.

I've considered Wave but it's just overpriced. I can stay at a comparable hotel like Page 10 and get a nice gogo girl for the night for the same price.
