Hello,
We are a group of 12 people and would be coming to Pattaya on the 8/01-11/01 and was looking out for a decent hotel near Walking Street.
Since all of us are 1st time travelers to Pattaya request the forum members if anyone can suggest a good hotel.
Thanks,
Tarus

Walking street is indeed crowded, loud and full of tourists, but if one plans to monger there, you have to deal with that regardless where you stay. In my stays at P72, I never had any problem with the noise. I always slept soundly. Yet, it is so convenient, especially with the FLs. They line up just outside the hotel restaurant, and then you have Lucifer across the street. I picked up many FLs there.

Posts: 516Lodging Advice for First Time Visitor
When possible I like hotels not only girl friendly but with girls "in house." I have found three hotels in Pattaya: (1) Secrets Hotel, with Secrets Club and Baby go go bar; (2) Galaxy Suites, with Heaven Above Club; (3) Penthouse Hotel, with Kitten Club. More expensive but with a pool, what for me is a plus.
As for hotels with girls "in house," you may think that's a good idea. But it's not. Let me explain.
Pattaya is not like the Dominican Republic, where the punter scene discretely operates in certain limited areas. To the contrary, the scene in Pattaya is far more open and above-board. Girls willing to go with you are literally everywhere. Moreover, Pattaya is a small place (at least the area frequented by tourists) and it's easy to get around using the baht buses and motorcycle taxis. Trust me on this: Unless you book lodging way out in the sticks (and we won't let you make that mistake) once your find the girl of your dreams, it's ridiculously easy to get back to your hotel. So you should choose a hotel based on its location, price and amenities, not because it has a bar in the lobby with a few girls sitting around.
I'll give you the same advice I give every guy who is making his first trip: Stay in central Pattaya, which I define as north of Soi 13/2, south of Soi 7, and west of Soi Buakaow. Don't understand those directions? Google "Groovy map Pattaya" and buy a map. If you stay in Central Pattaya you'll be close to the three major areas favored by naughty boys: Walking Street, Soi LK Metro and Soi 6. (On "The Six" you and your favorite bar girl can take care of business in a upstairs room. How's that for "in house?"). You'll also be within easy walking distance of every conceivable creature comfort you might need during your holiday, such as good cheap food, laid back bars, laundries, convenience stores, shopping malls, cinemas, bowling alleys, etc. Generally the closer you are to the beach the more you'll pay. You'll find better value for money on the east side of Second Road.
The Secrets Hotel and the Galaxy Suites are not in Central Pattaya. They are on Walking Street. I like Walking Street just fine, but I never stay there. It's simply too crowded, too loud and too full of tourists. Besides, most of the lodging on Walking Street is pretty basic. Again, you may think you need to stay "close to the action. " But you don't need to stay on Walking Street. The Penthouse is barely inside the Central Pattaya area, but I don't care for it. It's a bit too over the top for my taste, a bit too sleazy. Not that there's anything wrong with sleazy. I just like a more laid back hotel, something befitting a man of my good taste and breeding. (LOL!
Check out these hotels in Central Pattaya: the Whitehouse Condotel, the LK Empress, the LK Renaissance, the Areca, the Page 10 and the Sea Me Spring. All have web pages and lots of reviews on the Tripadvisor web site. All have pools, some bigger than others.
You might also provide us with more information about when you will be traveling (high or low season) your budget and what kind of lodging your prefer. Otherwise we're just guessing at what you might like.

Lek Hotel, at the corner of Second Road and Soi 13, has quite a large pool.
Dynasty Inn, Soi 13, opposite Lek Hotel. Has a roof top pool.
The Whitehouse Condotel, next to the Dynasty Inn on Soi 13. Also has a roof top pool.
Inn of the Golden Crab, also on Soi 13. Has a pool.

I also stayed at Sandy Springs Hotel which has an excellent location but no hotel grounds. Looking for a place with a large pool and grounds close to Beach Road around the Soi 13 area. I don't like he beer bars or go-go places and had the most fun picking up freelancers off of Beach Road. My budget is about $ 70 a night.

That is the only hotel I've stayed at the last 20 years. I fact I just returned from staying there for 11 nights.
Personally, I've never been attacked or butt-fucked by any ladyboys.
If you have never stayed there, then your opinion is only from hearsay.
