Posts: 35Hotel recommendations permitting 2 girl visits without supplement
Hi,
I've previously stayed at the Intimate Hotel Tim Boutique (nice but has gotten slightly expensive) and Flipper House (A bit run down). I'm looking for a new mid-priced hotel to stay during my next visit in October. Ideally a hotel where I can choose to ask the girl to show her ID at the desk -- or not, and ideally a hotel where I can bring 2 girls without a supplement charge (I've never done this before but might like to try) . Central location is essential (somewhere on or near second road). I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks!

The purpose of my day 2 was first to investigate if I could find a better price / quality hotel after my 3 days Agoda reservation in Basaya beach hotel. The answer has been: NO.
Either it was more expansive, or bad quality. Especially, I visited Sabai lodge, they had a promotion rate at 800 Bt but for rooms with no window. And their rooms with window were rated 1150 Bt, but in this hotel the corridor is on pool side, meaning the rooms have windows on uninteresting view.
Conclusion I decided in this offseason period (July) to stay in excellent (sure without luxury) Basaya beach hotel.
- wide rectangular 25 m swimming pool.
- wide room with wide garden and pool view.
- excellent location Central road, but quiet as far from street.
- wifi in room and garden (however not fast).
- correct air cond.
- good cleaning service (toilet paper, free water renewed without request).
- sure it is an old hotel refurbished here and there, with old furniture. But good bed-.
- and breakfast buffet is average and too pricy (350 bt) and closed at 10 am. But plenty of alternate choice nearby, same for cheap laundry service.
All that for 20 E per night (900 Bt), through a renewed reservation of 10 days with Agoda. As the reception staff is not entitled to go below 1000 bt and perfectly suggest a resa via Agoda, when you show them cheaper price on Ipad!
And I shall normally stay there till end of July.
Please do not hesitate to send me private message if you want my phone number to meet me.

If my laptop is too big to put it in the safe, usually I put it in a drawer, but that is more to tidy up the room than protect it from theft. I think the bigger risk is that the maid might accidentally drop it when cleaning the room.

Hi guys!
So I'm heading out for my second trip to LOS next week. I'll be there for about 5 weeks. Last time I went, I didn't have a laptop with me. I'm considering bringing my 15.6" laptop on this trip. It's a bit large to lug around, but considering anyways. I know that most in-room safes will not accommodate a laptop of this size. So I'm wondering, if you bring a laptop, do you guys just leave them exposed in your room or stick them in a drawer or something? Anyone ever had theirs ripped off? I'm really not too worried about the maids taking them. Overnight guests maybe. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I couldn't find much more than room safe discussions on the topic. Appreciate any response on the matter.
Thanks!

Posts: 9Refrigerator, balcony, and budget priced?
I would like to find a room that has a balcony, a refrigerator that is reasonably sized or isn't already full of the hotel's stuff, and that costs about 1,000 Baht / day for a month stay.
I've stayed at the AA Pattaya and the AA Pattaya Residence, the rooms are nice, the people are friendly, and they have a beautiful pool, but no balcony or fridge space.
I also stayed at a couple of guest house on Soi 12 east of Second Road. I can't remember their names, they were adequate. But no balconies.
And for a couple of days I stayed at The Haven in a room at the pool, which was very nice but no fridge or balcony.
Also let me ask: has anyone stayed at any of the hotel / guest houses on Soi Post Office? They sure are centrally located, but I would think noisy.
Thanks for any advice or opinions.

Many establishments will give discounts for longer bookings. I recently emailed my usual Bangkok hotel to see what they could do. They said they offer a 10% discount on stays of 15 days, and a 20% discount on stays of 30 days. It never hurts to ask.
The other options for the OP are to dollar cost average into something: ie the cheapest lodging possible for a few nights and something better for a few nights, and there is always your 300 Baht short stay hotel which might accept 650 Baht for a nightly booking.

They do ask for a deposit, don't forget to ask for it back when you check out and make sure they write it on your receipt.
