Yes I stayed there last year (as mentioned in my post not far below). I think I had the second smallest size of room available (if that makes sense). Personally I liked it. Location was convenient and the place was very clean and modern. If I remember correctly the breakfast and the pool were fine too. It was totally guest-friendly as far as I was concerned (although I only brought in one girl per night).

Has anybody stayed at the dusitD2 baraquda Pattaya?

Been searching for at report but have been unable to find one. I am planning my first trip to Pattaya in September and I want to find a high end hotel that is close to the action.

Hello all, I am planning on being in Thailand for a week and a half from the states. My intention is to be in Bangkok for two days, then to either Phuket or Pattaya for 6 days then back to Bangkok, maybe a day trip to Agnor what (can't be all mongering).

I am planning on doing this in style and I have seen pictures of hotels with what looks like private pools to take their guests. Can you suggest a hotel like that in Pattaya? If there are Hilton, Hyatts or Starwood resort / hotels that are GF would be a bonus since I have a high status at all of them.

Any input would be appreciated. I know Phuket is really the place to go but with the news about some unfriendly native action lately I may avoid. I do want to be here to escape and relax as well as have some fun.

If you have 10 days I thinl 2 days in Bangkok 5 days in Pattaya and 2 days in Phuket is good, but if you want to go to Cambodia and Angkor what you need 3 day is about one hr 30 min flight from Bangkok to Siem riep air fare is not cheap and you must paid a 25 USD visa on arrival is a great site must see.

I know Angor what is about an 8 hour bus ride from Pattaya, in Cambodia, so I may spend a night there, I will have to look up travel schedules to there from Thailand but I do want to see it.

I stay in View Talay 6 which is a condo building next to Central Plaza. Just spent 3 weeks there. You can look at these two sites for availabilty and full details. Though, it might be hard to find something for High Season. Give it a look see.

I'm not too bothered about location. Other than price, here are my main criteria (in order of importance, with the most important first) :

- Preferably a 1-bed (but a larger studio would be OK as well)

- Kitchenette (or kitchen, but I'm not planning on doing any cooking!)

- Flatscreen TV and DVD player.

- Nicely (or even luxuriously) decorated.

- Not too noisy (I. E. Not directly above a bar, not too noisy in the daytime, and no major construction going on nearby)

- Gym on site or nearby (not essential)

- Pool (again, not a dealbreaker)

I was in the LK area this morning and went by the Rover for you. Do to the morning they had no rooms for me to look at plus they are full at this time. I spoke to a English Chap? Who has been staying there for nearly six month and he provided me with this information. There are two types of room 650 small 850 large, he indicated that the small rooms are small and that it is well worth the upgrade to large since you get the balcony. Based on the building design which is very typical I believe there are most likely no more than a dozen rooms and certainly no ELEVATOR. If you were staying at Billabong or Metro buildings are the same no elevator. For a elevator you will have to stay at one of the bigger hotels like Pasadena? L. K. Metro? Any hotel whether large or small in facing the front would have a noise problem in this court yard since it is loaded with action. Backtracking, the hotel or guest house building is like the ones you would do shortime on Soi 6. These buildings are very common! Of course the hotel is girlfriendly. Oh the guy said the place and room are clean typical shower and toilet together and floor is always wet. The lobby is combination reception / bar and serves breakfast. Claims best in Pattaya for 99 baht. This claim is made by everyone but the picture look good?
