Could be true now as my info is not new. I had beer with a guy once staying at the Hard Rock back when it 1st opened and he brought gals back everynite without a problem, but then hotel policies change all the time which is why I suggested to the poster to always ask before final booking. Some places often reverse their policy as they realize when business is down--happened to me with a hotel in CM.
cheers

Hi all
Due in Pattaya in a few weeks and wondered if anyone had stayed in Anna Jet's guesthouse ( url:http://www.annajet.co.uk/). Looks kind of fun, but basic. Its certainly cheap which is part of the attraction.
Thanks

3000b a nite???--for this price, you could almost have any place in Pattaya.
Suggest you try very up-scale Hard Rock and Montien Hotel. Both are in Central Pattaya and near the beach and right in middle of action. I've only seen these places from outside as they are beyond my meager budget so dont know if Montien is GF--but dont think so from what I've heard.
Hard Rock is GF from what I heard but policy could change so always clarify before booking.

I've stayed there in the past and the pool is OK if all you want is cool off with a dip with your gal, also have a small bar next to the pool deck, but too small for lap swimming.
prices go up 50-75% starting in high season (Nov 1) and not worth it without any advertise sales as the rooms are old and dim with cracking paint.

Apex is somewhat of a dump as its old/ worn. Only upside is GF and if booking, always ask for the new wing as the rooms are usually better but normally booked full well in advance in high season.

Posts: 231Opinions on Apex Hotel 2nd Road
Unfortunately I am on a rather tight budget for my LOS trip, so I would appreciate it if you guys could give some opinions as to what you think about the Apex Hotel.
Thanks and cheers.Last edited by Buzz00; 09-06-06 at 20:16. Reason: spelling check

Posts: 1584Fersure - look, you want "upscale" or just "clean"? For "clean" relatively nice, sort of "cheap" go try one of the Sawasdee hotel chain sawasdee.com I think - maybe 600B /night or a bit more. The only 1 with a pool is Siam (corner of Buakhao and Honey Inn and reports have it that the pool isn't too nice). Eastiny residence is good - look for reports in here (bit more money) 15 min walk to Walking Street, lots of action on Buakhao. Why walk - get on 2nd road and the baht bus will take you all the way to North road for the princely sum of 10B (of course, if you are a masochist like me, I GO to Thailand because I WANT to walk
dare I say RTFF (it's not a stretch to read the hotels portion)

So as you discuss food and bandwidth, I'd like to bring it back to hotels. Most of the "don't worry" posts were written over the summer. Many of the hotels are now fully booked (I tried both direct e-mail and through a couple of the internet sites).
After a few visits to both bkk and chiang mai, this forum got me looking at Pattaya (does that make me a patnewbie?). I hope to spend a week or so. Looking for both the nightlight but don't want to stay in the middle of it (would like some quiet). Clean space. A pool (sauna?) would be nice. Within walking distance to the MPs. I don't mind walking 10-15 minutes to get to town. If I could keep it in the 1,000 bht range, that would be good.
Thank you all your forthcoming suggestions, really.

Posts: 21Upscale hotels that are girl friendly?
Will be heading to Thailand in February, first time. What are my up scale choices for a hotel that is girl friendly? I've got about 3000 Baht / night to budget for hotels. Any help at all would be appreciated, would prefer somewhere closer to the action or easy to get to / from.
