    Something new.

Stayed in Penthouse (13/4), a fun vibe but the rooms are so dated, they just don't take care of the place.

Lower end resorts like Loma are a bit far from the action.

Wave is probs beyond my price range, but looks cool?

Hard Rock doesn't give you much space for the money, and last time I was there you couldn't order room service from the cafe. But the pool is great.

I've been staying at Sunshine, but too low end.

Hilton was fun, but everything has a price and not a fun Pattaya vibe.

Mecure (the back and white one with ice bar) was okay, but again. Not worth the money and a bit far away.

Looking for cool, upscale vibe / in the center of things for around 3,500 or less. Any suggestions?

    New Luxury Hotel

I was on Soi 3 looking for Welkom Inn yesterday and ran across a brand new hotel that just opened this past week. There isn't even a sign with the name yet. It's called Miyat or something similar. Touch up construction appears to be ongoing but they've opened up most of the floors. Definitely a luxury hotel. Rates are B3,000 a night but vary with occupancy. I'll report back about whether or not it's GF but if it is, it would be a nice alternative to Baraquda and some of the other more expensive options. It is a very impressive looking hotel, nicer than anything else I have seen here by far.

In other news I was surprised to see a Terminal 21 shopping mall being built near the circle on the north end of town. There is a large structure also being built attached to it. It looks like that will be a hotel also. It is a long way from being finished.

Thanks Sunlover2, thinking of Baraquda. Looks like a good location.

I'm staying at Whitehouse Condotel now. Wifi downloads are consistently 25-30 MBs in the room. Uploads slightly slower. B1350 rate includes breakfast. There are numerous reviews of this hotel in this thread.

    Booking hotels over NYE?

Will be spending some time in Pattaya over the New Year. How soon should I book my hotel? Say a couple of days before and after New Year.

Sorry to butt in, but I was wondering if anyone had stayed at the sandy recently?, I have always stayed here when visiting Pattaya, and I noticed on google earth the restaurant has gone next door, and the bar. Hooters - has been reported as making the hotel a noisy place to stay?

So I was hoping someone could give me a and update, as I like the hotel. If anyone else can suggest a similar girl friendly one, that is quiet and convenient that would be cool.

    Thanks.
I stayed there in mid-June, and it was great. My first time there, and I was sufficiently pleased that I plan to stay there again when I next visit Pattaya. Had breakfast most days in the outdoor restaurant directly across the alley. All good. ID at desk as usual, but staff is great (flirted with them as I aways do, but of course they wouldn't come up to my room).

Staying at Siam at Siam design this week. Rooms I really like. Staying in a Junior corner suite ocean view. Spacious and nice with great room cleaners (and if you tip they will do anything for you in any timeframe you wish). Girlfriendly: Yes. It is a big hotel tho and you will feel like a number here. And it's also a Chinese in- Chinese out factory. You will see them all day, every day, any time. Took 2 girls so far but was never asked for ID but I think it more depends on time / busyness of the staff. Even after midnight lot of times there are large groups being checked in so your guest and you aren't really a priority then. But of course if you want her checked in that's possible with the security on the side.

Funny thing is you get such a different experience of Pattaya here then when staying much closer to Walking street. It's almost 2 different holidays I feel. One 'bad' thing about the hotel is that it is on the wrong side of directions of the baht bus for going to walking street. So when you want to take the bus there have to go through the soi to get towards beach road. But that's a short 5 minute walk.

Wouldn't advise the hotel to people who want to take back beach road FL's quickly as it's bit of a ride to get there then. But overall I give this hotel def. The +++ and there's sometimes some great deals to be had compared to other places closer to walking.

    Sureena Hotel

Just booked Sureena Hotel Soi Pattaya 13/2 Beach Road, for around 550 baht per night all in. Half block off Beach Road and next to Post Office. Definitely on the low end but good location. Will report after stay from mid Oct to first of November. Price on the hotel search engine website was cheaper than the Hotel's actual website by around 200+ baht.

VT6 technically allows unlimited visitors. There is building security but they are easy to avoid by walking up to the 4th floor and taking the main elevators, or using the "staff" elevators located in the garage. Honey's coffee house is a reliable agent for Vt6 rentals. Note that Vt6 is a big albatross. Even though it's smack in the middle of the action, it's size makes it seem a bit dark and isolated.

    Guest friendly or joiner Fee?

Is it guest friendly or is there a joiner fee? Price and location look good and it is an apartotel.

    LK Empress. City side room

Also, would anyone be able to comment on expected noise levels if I book room on the city side? I can cancel and pay a little more for pool side. I don't care about looking out the window. Just whether it will be an issue with noise.

OK thanks! I think I read that girls do have to be 20+?

If mostly families / couples etc. I believe it should be guest friendly but still would like to know.
