I have stayed at many hotels in Pattaya, but find value for money at The Bay Breeze hotel on Soi honey to be great, location, rooms, value.

But it has the slowest elevator in the world! Ha ha.

The following letter was posted here about 2 years ago. It seemed that they intended to close the entire hotel to remodel and rebrand, but I have a feeling that the money for such an undertaking just wasn't available, and the building was boxed in by the new hotels and condos surrounding it. The Premier Inn is just a few feet away.

Have you tried searching for reports on Dynasty Inn? I could find at least 4 reports in less than 4 minutes. A good review written by a guy named FLHawk, enough information to make a decision about the place. RTFF.

Great location. I've seen the rooms and they are nice. Not luxurious but nice. The hotels gets good reviews here. I say book it.

1575 baht per night. Yes, there was a safe large enough for a laptop. My room did not have a balcony. My room did not have a bathtub, but there was a large glass rainfall shower. Yes, they provided basic toiletries but refilled only the soap and shampoo (no toothbrush, etc.). It felt like a nice 3.5 star Western hotel. Large room, nice shower, nice sized bathroom. My main issue was that they did not have any nightstands. The bed was on a platform and the lamps were on the floor. I did not eat at the hotel and there's only a small coffee bar in the hotel, so I'm not sure if room service is an option. Link to photos: http://w14-pattaya.hotel-in-pattaya.com/en/#photo.

    W14

Stayed at the W14 for about a week. It's on Soi 14 off Walking Street.

Pros: Nice, new hotel on a quiet side street, steps away from Walking Street and 2nd Road. Friendly hotel staff, small, but adequate roof top pool, okay view depending on which room you get, quiet (maybe 20 rooms total) and girl friendly with ID check and phone call.

Cons: No elevator, so be ready for a workout if you're on floors 3 to 4. Soi 14 closes and has limited access so for shuttles, cars, and taxis, it's not the easiest place for a pick up or drop off. The breakfast buffet is in the hotel next door, Grand Hotel.

Conclusion: Great hotel, great location, just ask for a room on the first or second floor.

I'm not like some of you guys, doubt I'd get more than 1 girl a day, I'm there for the party and experience as much as anything. Plus I won't be drinking a ton and I'm there a long time, I'm sure there will be some 8 k days and some 2 k days, it all evens out.

The original discussion that my post pertained to was for hotels on Beach Road Soi 13, I was referring to the Haven that used to be on Soi 13.

You are right, I could cut through Mike's get a baht bus to WS or go via Soi Buakhaw. Both involve walking a bit more than what I am used to. 5555.

Clearly I am not in the same physical shape you might be in.

    Areca Lodge

I just returned from a quick 4 day trip to Pattaya. I stayed at Areca Lodge on Soi Diana Inn, just off 2nd Road.

I checked the prices on Agoda a month ago and it worked out to SGD 60 for a deluxe room with pool view, including breakfast. I wrote directly to the hotel stating this and asked if they could better the offer. They offered SGD 58 per night including breakfast and threw in two complimentary cocktails per day. And they agreed that I would pay at the hotel directly. Check in was handled smoothly by a very courteous staff. The room was very good, quite spacious at 32 sqm, well appointed with all necessary amenities. The balcony was a bit cosy but the view is great.

The property is very large and has two pools. The one at the back across the Evergreen wing is massive and has an adjoining bar. The one in front is relatively smaller and quieter but has bar service at the poolside as well. The pool is great, not too deep though. Very well maintained. Clean pool towels readily available in abundance. Comfortable sundecks too with nice shady parasols.

The hotel is definitely girl friendly. Bring as many girls as you want in a day. They won't bat an eyelid. I have not tried bringing in more than one girl at at time but I am quite certain it won't get their panties in a wad. Housekeeping staff and very efficient and flexible about when they clean your room. I did not call for any room service or have breakfast during my stay, so I have no comments about that.

The hotel is very accessible. Getting to WS will need a bike taxi, while getting back can be a baht bus ride. 2nd Road, Soi Diana and Soi Buakhaw are at walking distance. Soi 7, Soi 8 and Soi 6 are all accessible by baht bus. Getting back from those places would need a bike taxi though.

So in summary I would highly recommend staying here. This will be my hotel of choice for future visits.
