Returned to Dumaguete last month to reunite with a young lady I had met through a dating site four years ago. A sweet 23 year old of conservative upbringing. Yes, a virgin. Most certainly marriage material. We hung out and played "happy couple" during the day as she couldn't spend nights with me. I had already met her grubby family in 2006. I had no interest in seeing them again.

That meant I had my evenings to myself. My observations on my first visit were pretty much consistent with what has already been said: Dumaguete is a nice little oasis, but bring your own lady if you plan to visit. Or, for those who are ready to settle down, bring a ring. So, I didn't expect much play when I went out for my evening strolls. But I was still on high alert for any action that might come my way.

Dying for a little excitement one night, I ended up at Why Not. As I walked in, I was warmly greeted by a group of ladies at a table near the door. I assumed they were a p4p team, so I took a quick inventory, decided none would do, smiled and kept it moving to the bar.

One of the ladies later came by and asked my name, nationality, business or pleasure?... the usual. She asked for permission to introduce me to her "shy" friend who presumably has a thing for American brothas. I was about to politely decline, but when I turned to look, my flabber was ghasted... her super-hot friend definitely wasn't at that table when I walked by... On second eval, not likely a p4p team, so it was time to shift into Playa Mode. Long story short, I spent the next three nights with a hot 22 year old with a tight, stretch mark-free body and a cool free-spirited personality to match. At some point, she invited me to check out her boarding house where in her humble room, the walls were plastered with magazine photos of NBA, hip-hop, and r&b stars. Her dream is to hook up with a Black American celebrity. Judging from what she has to offer, she could definitely get it. I advised that finding her way out of Dumaguete would be a good first step toward her dream. Very nice girl. I hope she catches her shining star.

An aside about one morning when Conservative Girl returned to my room... Just as I opened the door, she did a bee line to a strand of hair stuck on the opposite wall, and insisted it wasn't hers... I shrugged and feigned confusion. (Before meeting my appointments, I usually do a quick room sweep for anything incriminating, especially hair. Apparently, I missed that one strand.) The military-grade radar of some of these Filipinas never ceases to amaze me. Some uncanny shit indeed.

I also hung out with a Why Not waitress I met in 2006. She no longer works there, but we kept in touch. Nice girl, good looking, fun to be with, and easy going. But unfortunately, knocking her down isn't so easy. Went along with the fun, and we had a great time anyway.

The Boulevard doesn't offer much more than a few honeys past their prime, sprinkled with a few dudes dressed like chicks. But I think there's more opportunity during sept-oct when they have a festival every weekend. I can't be sure of the name, so I won't bother to try to mention it. In one weekend, I knocked down two honeys of the high-end Manila go-go variety, picked up right at the Boulevard. I wouldn't make Dumaguete a top mongering destination, but one could find some decent play if you're patient and look hard enough.

Hope this helps anyone looking to spend time in Dumaguete.

    Gumby.

An interesting, thorough and, in my view, accurate report, R.

....Trolled around Siliman, but it was break time there, and very few prospects in evidence. The area behind the ferry terminal was strictly for the desperate or the blind-=skag alley. Nothing much in the Why Not disco, trike pimps did not give one any confidence that they could deliver anything clean, or appealing. Finally settled for the ONLY cute WG on the esplanade. Most others either ladyboys or past their due date.

Fortunately, next day, I connected with 'Miss Siaton' runner-up on the bus going south. We spent a couple of days at Sugar Beach near Sipilay. She sure looked good in her bikini. So, all's well that ends well.

I think Dumaguete is pleasant enough, but likely to require lots of game, time, and luck, if one wants to score with the local 'nice girls'.[/QUOTE]Thanks Questor55, I lived in Duma for a year over 2 trips.

Visiting the phils for long durations, it's good to have a home base.

Dumaguete has alot of pluses in that regard.

Cebu is close by air, bus or jet boat.

    Bohol 2 hours?

Siquijor is a short ferry ride.

    Dapitan/Dipolog by jet boat.

    Bacolod 5-6 hours by bus.

I wrote a blow by blow report on the area behind the ferry terminal.'skank alley', haha! It's know as 'tocino country'.

I spent alot of time there after hours. Can drink til dawn.

Almost all the FLs in town are based there to start and/or end the night.

There are afew girlie-bars outside the city limits by the airport, but never heard any good reports from there.

In Dumaguete, if you got time and alittle game, there's plenty of good pussy.

I didn't see any ex-pats suffering from lack of avalable women. Its just not a LA cafe or Angeles bar scene, point and click.

Moreover, most of the phils are are like that.

I was up northern Luzon. That's 'Marcos country', real conservative, 8-10pm cerfews!

Feck, I'd go to wakes to meet woman there.

No kidding, if you're ever in a primitive area looking for action, go find a wake.

    Happy hunting guys!

    Dumaguete DIA Action

I was in Dumaguete last week and did not come across any working girls or bikini bars. I worked DIA extensively and only had one success with a

    Single mom.

As mentioned in previous posts, definately "bring your own" to Dumaguete.

    It's a quite, conservative town.

I've used philipina-heart to make dates with 25-35 yo college educated woman., don't remember any nurses but did date a midwife.

She was super hot but a 'good girl' not about to give it up easy. Nice to be with tho.

Botched it up with her when she saw me with a hooker at an outdoor bistro., d'oh!

I met a DIA chatmate from NW Mindanao who was eager enough to catch a ferry and come to join me in Dumaguete. Don't know what she expected we'd do, but she was painfully shy and stayed that way until I sent her back the next day.

That's Dumaguete, small town. Can't go whoring without Sussie finding out.

These days, with pics, live feed.

Still friends with a silliman girl I met thru PH. Didn't bed her either but she showed me her world and friends., was super primo.

If I was looking for a wife, her or her friends were women I could see marrying.

Smart, articulate, educated young Phipinas are not easy to meet.

    Need time and game.

Much easier to bed shop girls.

I had my first name and cell# printed on calling cards.

See a foxy shopgirl, give her the card, say 'like to go out with you sometime' and start from there.

Worked most of the time for a first date at least.

Even the waitresses are quit chaste and jaded towards lecherous expats, atleast when the whole bar is looking.

And let's face it, most of us are pretty damm lecherous.

Dumaguete ain't the place for our hobby.

Most of the SWs are so-so, cheap, but not great GFE.

    Luck all!

    Hi D Cup,

For us who haven't visited Dumaguete as yet but have it on our list would you mind providing a Field Report? My retirement plans are only 3 or 4 years away so I am interested anywhere other than Manila and in the years before I do retire I wish to visit prospective regional towns.

    Thanks in advance.

Wrong. Both University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila and University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu are older, along with a number of others around the Phils.

Silliman University has a very strong self-promotion and trumpets itself as an elite place but the facilities, the level of staff quality and the achievement level of graduates does not reflect the status they think they have.

I have worked there as a consultant (and in 13 other universities around the Phils nth to sth) since 1996 and I am appalled at the sub-par conditions in the faculties. Very poor science labs, decrepit accommodation, a dreadful out-of-date library etc.

It wouldn't be on my list of places to work, but that's JMHO.

Good choice of destination - G'gte

    D-Cups,

Hope your initial investment pays off. Silliman is the oldest university in the Phils (and Protestant to boot!!!). Your American credentials would stand you in good stead if you plan to teach business studies there. Doing business in Asia is quite different from that in the west where 'doing deals' are not so openly acceptable as on the streets of Asia.

Having said that, the supply of fresh student bodies is a very positive idea to keep you young in body, mind and at heart. They are always pushing for extra tuition and will readily come to you after hours. This is quite an acceptable ploy for Pinoy girls, as I have seen it happen before. You will straightaway become 'Prof' to them in more ways than you can imagine.

Since your knowledge on western business practices is what they want to pick up (they are aware of Asian practices), they will ply their street-smart ways and knowledge on you to suck you dry of your essence (pun intended).

Unfortunately I will be in another part of the world during the period you would be in D'gte but hopefully I shall return on another occasion. If you're well entrenched by then, we could exchange notes. If you insist on buying the first beer, I buy the next.

    Keep posting amigo.

    DUmaguete

I was at Dumaguete last week.. It was always my hunting grounds. Lately there seem to be slim pickings. The usual exotics for the expats. Tried to have my local contact set me up with college students but didnt push through sincew it was late in the evening.

    Dumaguete

I love Dumaguete. There are things to do there.

I studied Thai boxing and arnis (Filipino stick fighting) in Dumaguete. Look up Khru Ike Villaflores.

There's the pool resort place out of town, on the highway headed north. I want to say Sea Forest, but I forget the name.

There are a couple of small gyms where you can work out House of Choi, near Panie's restaurant, and two movie theaters.

You can take a day trip up north to the pool at Mabinay.

    D Cups in Dumaguete

I was in Dumaguete a little over a month ago to check it out as a potential place to live when I move to the Phils.

Fortunately, I had a guide with a car and plenty of time on his hands.

So he showed me round by day, and we checked out a couple of the bars by night.

Dumaguete is a very nice town. It is very clean, generally well maintained, with a good expat community and a number of good expat style restaurants.

I had only two reservations. The airport is a bit small, with few flights per day. And the city is quite small, which does not provide the anonymity that I would need if my future mangering habits are as I intend.

Apart from that, a very nice place to live.

I checked out the university, and the school of Business Administration could provide some opportunity to teach.

I only saw one hospital that catered to student nurses, but there may be more.

Mongering was OK, but nothinng spectacular, given that it is a small town.

Thanks DB. That is exactly what I want to hear! It looks like I will be going to Dumaguete in October now and I want to start planting some seeds when I get there! ;)

I know it is a university town so there are likely to be several nursing students and some hospitals. I am business professor so I may even teach at Silliman or another university in Dumaguete in the future if I want to. I am so excited I can hardly contain myself! I have never been married because, frankly, I never met an American woman that was worth it. Geez, they all think that life evolves around them instead of their husband. But maybe I will change my views about marriage if I find a smart, cute, busty Pinay to spend my golden years with.

If anyone else has information about living in Dumaguete kindly PM me! And, if you can meet me in October (probably around Oct 3 - 6) the beer is on me!

You could be looking for a needle in a haystack.....

    Available: a twenty-something
    OCCUPATION IN DEMAND: nurse
    VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND: non-Catholic
NOT VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND: strikingly beautiful

There is just one category above that you would have trouble finding.
The matter of 'a a big pair of bolt-ons' may not be necessary if you're not the traveling/ wandering kind. Every hopeful girl would have her dream come true if she got herself a foreigner husband settling in the Phils. She has security, can show you off to her circles, have your babies and also look forward to an improved lifestyle.

In return, she would look after you well, cook, wash, clothe, et al. This is certainly a mutual win-win combination.
