Hey KOS,

I am having a hard time of figuring out how fun the nightlife of Panama is. Can you provide any guidance? Esp which towns have good nightlife. Not looking exclusively for mongering, but more opportunities to bed local girls. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I was in Peru last year and it was EASY AS CAKE to pick up local women. They love gringos out there! Wondering if Panama is similar.

I was both in Peru and in Panama. So here it goes:

Food. Better quality and way more choice in Peru but thats imho.

Girls? Depend on what you are looking for.

In Peru you need to know spanish. If staying in pc you could meet many girls that speak some english. However outside pc this is not the case.

Savety. I would say pc is more save then Lima right now.

Prices? I would say Panama is more expensive then Peru. Then again if you take an inland flight in Peru that can be pricey.

If you are into culture and seeing old indian things better go to Peru.

If you like relaxed beaches. Better go to Panama.

Picking up local women sure is easier in Peru. The Panama women are way more picky becoz they seem to have a better economical standard.

As far as the price for airtickets goes. I don't know. For me Peru or Panama is equaly expensive in tickets coming from europe. But for americans I think Panama would be cheaper on airfare then Peru.

Costa Rica is rapidly becoming a very dangerous place, especially San Jose, but also Jaco en Tamarindo. During my last 10 days trip to Costa Rica (San Jose->Tamarindo->Quepos->San Jose by car in September), there was a murder in Tamarindo AND a murder in Jaco while I was there. I only spend a few days in those 2 locations, I stayed most of the time in Manuel Antonio, which still seems safe. San Jose especially is out of control: in some barrios, chicas are attacked in the street, go to the police, identify their attacker, attacker gets out after a while and retaliates (kills the girl in some cases). This happened more than once. The following happened to a family I know in a less than 2 months period: niece is attacked in the street and stabbed in full daylight, brother gets attacked 3 weeks later coming home at night, last week 2 masked man enter the house, beat the brother up and steal stuff. A woman on the other side of the street got murdered 3 weeks ago.

The police seems not to be able to handle this increase in crime at all. I will this in the CR section as well, seems important to know.

In Guetamala situation even is worse!!!! jovi gangs all arround the street stabbing (or shooting) yer as.s for 10 bucks...or less!!!
Also many larger cities all over South-America (Rio,SP,Caracas,BA and many others) are full of violence. It's time these corrupt governments start doing something about it.......or turism will be a real HAZARD to such countries.
This shit is also spreading to panama wereas Colombian druglords and their associates take over more and more.......:-( Illegal wapons,drugs,human trafficing,prostitution,false dollarnotes, real estate...you name it...the Colombians run the show in Panama!!

La Mayor is in casco viejo, I do not recommend this area cause it really smells like fish /crap, and the women there are kind of disgusting. You must need glasses KOS 'cause there are a lot of nice asses at "La Mayor" and the neighboring establishments. Approximately 100 women between the 4 establishments.

The only girls that are locals in Panama are two types. I will give you the low down.

The Local jewish girls from Patilla, some are really hot, but they are only looking for jewish guys, they do not go out of their culture.

The Girls from Chiriqui, the CHIRIQUANAS, there are some hotties from chirqui, you would almost think they are from Colombia, but no, they are panamanians. The people from chirqui at one time wanted their own country, I understand why at the moment. Anyways, you will find a group of girls from chirqui at habanos, across from marriot, that is cool, they a cute, definitely bangable.

All I am saying about Panama is be wary before you buy any real estate. The country is a gamble, the condos /real estate values collapse after 15 years, cause nobody wants to pay taxes, you get the first 15 years free, then you get taxed, so people just have no use for a condo that is old. Tricky real estate, also, yes, the black people destroy property values. Take a look at Detroit, South Side of chicago, North Miami, West os Angeles, the Bronx New York. Do some research, that is why I do not like Panama, cause it is infiltrated by the blacks that came over as slaves to work on the Panama canal. In the long term, Panama will sink with a smelly, dirty, black country that will sink to the bottom. Go to Costa Rica, totally different.

Guys, I forgot to mention, that when you take a colombian to a restaurant/ mall / club/ etc, every local knows she is a prositute, everyone knows they are a pro. I made the mistake of dating one, and people always looked at me like, why am I dating a pro? 99. 9 girls that are Colombians are prostitutes, so realize the locals will know immediatley they are a Colombian by the facial features, clothes, speach accent. Yes, the Colombians do have a accent.

If you want to hunt Colombians pros, in daily life, hang out on via espana at the cable and wireless store, across from continental hotel. Also, go to Studio "f" in multi centro mall on Sunday around 5pm, they will be there for sure.

Funny story, one Sunday night I was with my gf, we went to the movies in multi-centro around 7 pm, every girl from golden time was there waiting in line, even the two ladies at the front desk, it was funny, cause here I was, waiting in line, and the girls that I banged a couple nights ago were directly in front of me, it was not cool.

The best value in Panama is still Club Miami or Golden time. 84 dollars at GT, 80 at Miami, never let the taxi drop you off at the place, let them drop you off a block, that way to keep prices down.

The days of cheap Panama are history guys, the americans are flooding the country, and the funny thing is, the country is a dirty sewer. I mean the locals just do not take care of the things in Panama. If I could short the country, I would bet against it, cause once the americans move their full time, and see what it is really like, they will leave. It is a ultra boring country, I am glad I never bought a condo their.

If you are buying real estate, you want to buy a country where the dominant culture is white skin, Panama is predominant black, and they do not take care of things properly, like slum lords. The panamanians are dirty people, poor, and will drive that country into the ground with corruption. IMHO

I stayed one night at Hotel Montreal, only because to get the free taxi pick-up, the taxi real rate from the airport is like 8 dollars + 2. 40 for the mexican owned highway. The taxis will try to charge you 25. 00 dolalrs, no way. Guys walk out to the main street, and bargain for 8-10 dollars. Or, when you exit customs, walk up the stairs, and try to get a taxi from the departure drop off, many taxis are dropping people off from the city, and would love to at least get some money going back to the city, I once paid 6 dollars at 1 am, cause the guy just wanted to make some moneygoing back.

Back to the hotels, Hotel montreal ok, but if you go around sevilla suites area, veneto area, around maonolos, you can get 35 dollar hotels, they are cheap, clean, and nice for long term. Check it out

I lived many many years in Panama city, mostly had an apartment, so yes, I know where every hotel is, and know what the locals pay. It is best if you speak spanish to talk in spanisn, or they will rob you blind. Also, hostels are for people who usually do not have any extra money, do not trust them in Panama, many tourists get their stuff stolen, be carefull.

Crystal Moon, 2 year old club in bad area, close to avenida Cuba, I do not like this place, this mafia guy that owns the place is cool, but he charges way too much for the girls, the quality is bad, I would stay away, nice decoration, but not cool area.

Heeee KOS I kindda liked Hotel Montreal...cheap...clean...they even have a pool on top of the roof and a freebie taxi service from the airport!!!
Well it was a little rundown...true....but ....you know me man....I like it that way....hahahahahahahah

They had indoor hookies....all colombianas...way to expensive....and kindda with a bad attitude. They start opening talks at 100 USD an hour....if ye can speak the lingo ye can talk em down to half of that....still too mucho imho...

indeed forget about Boquette if you wanna monger. The place SUCKS. Boring and too mucho $$$ for crappy lousy service. besides most of the times the wheater sucks too at that altitude.
David can be fun...if you speak spanish and can hussle up some non-pros.

For full disclosure, I would never stay at a smelly dirty hostel in any country, that is gross, especially in Panama. That could also be dangerous too. Many cheap hotels in Panama city for $35. 00 dollars, they are their, and very clean.

Nibs and others, please realize that Panama city is only good for mongering, david is average, the frontera, forget about it, boquette, no way, all americans that are anti prosituttion.

My advice, stick to Panama city, and if you are on a budget, stick to club fenix, they are cheapest in town, but the quality is decent for the price.

Good cheap hotels, they are all on avenida Cuba, right by the immigration office, same street. This is a shady area, but Panama is not dangerous.

Hotel montreal is a complete shithooole, stay away. The best place to look is close to the veneto, down those two streets, one of them is one way. You can still find 35 dollar a night hotels, they are all apart hotels. Check the two streets around veneto, sevilla suites, and al around that area. Stay away from Parador, complete black dump. You can get a deal in this area. The rest, forget it, I used to stay at Paitilla inn for 40 dollars a night, they jacked up the rates and managament, I said adios, I went to a palce close to veneto. Check this area.
