I'd ask to go to the gasolinera just past Plaza Mirage if going to GT or to Niko's Restaurant if going to Miami Club -- cuts down on the walking.

Woke up in the Hotel Centroamericano. It was noisy and noisier with the airconditioner on. Had steak and fried plantains for breakfast, with tip, it just cost $5. Walked up the street to the Residencial Los Arcos. They could not get me into one of their $33 rooms, but they could had vacant $44 rooms. It is a busy time, with the run up to the elections, the weekend coming up, and the rennovations of one of their 8 wings took many rooms out of play. Clean, efficient, and being well set up for trysts make it an attractive alternative to the casion and hotel complexes on Via Espana.

Transferred hotels. Later I took a cab to the Oasis. They only had three girls working, one of whom was Tatiana. Tatiana was the tall MILF from my October report. Her features were still exotic, but she had put on some more weight, and she had no smiles for me. Made a $38 reservation at the Hotel Centroamericano on Travelocity. It is in a very working class neighborhood, but a two mile walk to Veneto. At night, there seemed to be a lot of people in the streets, even some chicas. There was a rally in the neighborhood for a presidential candidate and they set off 100 or so really loud firecrackers. Hotel Centroamericano is clean but spartan, but I needed a cheap reservation for the first night. The plan was to move to the Residencial Los Arcos in the morning.

Advice to nebies. Bring lots of $1 bills for taxi cabs and keep your quarters. A dollar or two, with a smattering of quarters will get you were you want to go, and $3 will get you from Veneto to Golden Times.

However, you guys can stop cruising Fantastic Casino for chicas. They just don´t go there. No attached hotel and the casino is designed to support expat Chinese gamblers and not gringos. And when the Chinese businessmen want to pay for some strange, they just go to GT where they get a big discount. Asian American mongers, could pass for local Chinese if they spoke Spanish well enough and get an hour with a GT girl for just $·50 or maybe less.

If you are staying at the Veneto, you can walk down the block and step into the Oasis MP. They have a website and you can print off their $5 off coupon. Between 11am and 230pm they have $50 FS lunch special. After 230pm the prices go up to $65 an hour, $70 for take out. There are two shifts of chicas, 11am to 7pm and the 7pm to 3am shift. Quality of the stable is not as good as Golden Times, but sometimes you find a diamond in the rough, or quality girl who is down on her luck and is just doing this for a short stint.

A half mile away, on Via Espana, there is a Blockbuster video store on the corner of Via Argentina. There is small courtyard behind it, about 20 meters. Inside, you will find River Club <(very obvious), and Relax Oriental ....less obvious....both are dives compared to Oasis. But they are close and I have gone to both dozens of times, come up empty handed, only to find girls who would go on to dance at Miami Club or other diamonds in the rough.

Can you check out of the net for 90 minutes....then you can take a cab....but not during rush hour between 430 and 7pm....and go to Golden Times. Much has been written about it.

Golden Times open at 7:30pm, they asked if I came by taxi, I said I walked from the Casino, the rate was $84 US. Its $94 if you arrive by cab.There were many ladies, perhaps 30 to choose from, they all were acceptable, some were great. The room had a massage table and a shower. There were bars from the ceiling, I asked the lady what they were for, she indicated some girls walk on the persons back and hold the rails. I have been to China where the ladies use similar bars with red ropes to enhanse your experience. Apparently Panama was different if she was thruthful.

Day 1, Stayed at the Sheraton Convention Center, took a cab to Fantastic Casino, no tallent, around 7:00p walked to Miami, it was dead. I then went to Veneto's Casino, it had several dozen ladies, especially by the bar, I saw a few very attractive ones, but did not negotiate. Returned to the Sheraton, they have a very nice casino there, started playing the slot machines, a vert attractive lady found me. After a casual conversation she asked $150, we settled on $100. I stayed a couple nights in Panama City Marriott using points (think they were asking $280 those nights! ). My goodness that bar across the street (Habanos) is fine. First night Nathalie from Colombia, pretty good English, an enchanting smile, maybe a little "professional" back in the room (altho she thanked me for DATY).

A friend of hers stopped by a few time while we were still at the bar, with absolutely sensational titties (which are not really my thing, but these were really sensational). So next night, I hung out hoping she'd show up, and bingo. (Both girls asked for 150 and quickly accepted 100, I wonder what happens with 75? )) Anyway Raquel form Rep Dom (no English) was great, so good in fact that I rearranged my bird-watching itinerary to have another night a few nights later back at the Marriott (more points) and we spent about 5 hours together. If you look like a tourist don't even think about walking at night in the area near the fish market! A taxi driver should know exactly where it is. If you are driving just go past the fish market and you will definitely get to see the place a couple hundred meters further.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll just stay in town for Tue and Wed and leave for the rural areas (=hopeless, but I'm really here on a birdwatching trip) for the weekend. That being said, birdwatchers have to get up early, like 5AM. If I happened to get up at 4AM (at the Marriott using points), any recommendations for a not expensive quickie (I'm fine with SWs). On a different subject, there are a great many references to Baro Boca Torena but I can find nothing more precise than "near the fish market" If I get to the fish market, is it easy to find or easy to ask someone?

A couple of years ago the only place that would open at midnight on Friday (Viernes Santo) was Miami. It was a pretty good night for me since there were not many clients and the girls decided to make it more like a party night than a regular one. It was good.
